If I remember right Booty was also playing builds of Perfect Dark a year ago.

It’s hilarious that even on a day like the usual posters still won’t give MS the actual criticism it deserves when it’s warranted.

Once the next gen console has come and gone so roughly 24months for launch… 6month post that.

They aren’t going to announce it this early.

But Phil will be what 60ish? Led Xbox for a while so you can imagine retirement is in the thinking ynderstanably

And still on days like this the same people can’t actually criticise MS when it is fully valid and deserved.

It’s not for casuals. Because of the likely price. Unless rumours were wrong and MS subside it.

The whole market is what 6million and not growing at a substantial pace.

It’s all so MS can say they have more users etc etc to look better in investor meetings.

But there’s very few of these type of games out there so it’s certainly worth Xbox keeping it around.

Well they did say they were looking at Europe for distribution so good chance studios be affected over this way.

Unfortunately FM missed the mark this time round, but MS don’t have any other game like this so it would be a shame if it closes/job losses

They both offer different perspectives of a sub service. Both have value and both have a place.

How did you come to the conclusion that it’s become more like gamepass. Even including what was actually said.

Pretty sure the no plans to offer day 1 titles is massively different to the selling point of gamepass.

It is ok to be critical. And have a more rounded view of everything. MS don’t need you to defend them 24/7.

It certainly is interesting and exciting (of what it could be) as someone into the hobby. but the devil will always be the price of this.

Because who is it for if it’s a ‘PC lite.’ PC players are unlikely to change over.

PS players are ingrained into the eco system now.

Are casuals going to want a mini PC? Rather than a ‘plug and go ps6’ (assuming it is? Especially as MS games are on PS.

And then potentially compete with themselves with a handheld too?

Lots of questions but a lot could change in the next what 28momths?

I just hope they go for one console spec. I think going for two would be confusing.

If there’s a new horizon then I hope it doesn’t just throw cars at you from the off. I’d like it to be a little more rewarding.

All people often say is it’s great SE are going to support Xbox. Looking forward to FF etc.

Then it transpires that unless it’s on Game it doesn’t actually sell

@Coletrain considering SE thought 3million in the first week was bad over on PS5. Then 22000 isn’t really worth their time or effort.

Forza did well, gears will do well as will halo.

The £40-50 or whatever it costs will certainly help too!

@Weebleman I’ve been saying a first party GP sub is coming to PS/nintendo for a long time now.

And it makes financial sense for all parties.

Sony will never allow a ‘full’ GP as they would lose too much from 3rd party sales/own services.

@Fiendish-Beaver since everyone keeps saying it’s great for Xbox gamers with sales on ps5, they need to look into what it’s actually given them so far:

Increased console prices
Increased game prices
(Rumour) increased GP prices

Hell I even saw an advert on tv here for FH5 on ps5! They don’t even advertise for their own ecosystem.

So far Xbox only gamers have got nothing in return. MS shareholders? Plenty and will get plenty more,

Considering CoD and other games are still releasing on ps4/xbo at the end of this year I think at best it would be very late 27’

Of course there is a price increase coming. Especially now the game price has been announced.

I reckon a couple of £ extra a month. And then Sony will follow suit

Dev is essentially saying MS is now paying less for games on GP (I’d assume this is because more smaller games want to get on GP)

And not only are they paying less, but where they would make money on dlc, gamers aren’t buying it as much as previously.

It’s a pretty fair thing to point out imo. And as you say this is so MS can keep it as good value for us gamers.

Teaming up with 3rd parties saves MS huge sums of money. Especially when outside of Nintendo handhelds aren’t hugely popular.

But yeah if MS can make enough money elsewhere they will drop out of console business - unless they can magically increase sales.

It’s too expensive with all the research, production costs to sell a relatively low amount (console wise) and at a loss.

They are only sticking with it because currently it is a driver of gamepass. If they can move gamepass subs to PC/tv (or wherever) they have no need for a console. Hence the play anywhere push etc,

The biggest issue is ‘gamers’ pre ordering. - especially digital as it’s not going to sell out - It means the devs can do this and others can copy

@Kraven and people buying car crashes of games are the reason why some devs can get away with releasing broken messes.

@somnambulance I’ve just voted and thought exactly the same. Was actually struggling to find a 5th.

If it’s £800 you may as well get a combination of -

Steam deck, S2 and PS5 and have all the choices.

How excited will you be when it comes out around £6-700? As other Ally handhelds are? I can’t see MS subsiding it like they would if it was their own product.

As always the price is going to be the issue.
