Out of avowed stalker and Indy, Indy was the one I was least interested in, I’m not a big fan of Indy.

But I hope it releases well and is fun, as I’m waiting for stalker patches I’m certainly more interested in trying it out now.

@OldGamer999 stalker 2 isn’t a MS game so absolutely 0 blame towards MS.

You also said it was running flawlessly and there was a campaign against it etc.

So which is it?

If the game wasn’t ready the devs could have delayed further.

But the devs are getting plenty of support and goodwill so I believe they will fix most of it.

It was more the PC crowd, who seem to be still buying it on steam etc than sun to PC gamepass, and as a none PC gamer I’m more curious as to why they haven’t

@oopsiezz it doesn’t even matter that the devs have put out statements about issues etc. or the fact some of the review was with the day 1 patch also.

But of course it’s 100% big free.

I’m confident they will fix some of them quickly, they seem to be engaging with players.

But did sales drop on Xbox? Did gp get a big boost? They are the more interesting figures.

Because if PC are buying it, they haven’t moved over to PC gamepass, why?

But regardless it’s all money for MS. But even more importantly it released good, one of the better in the series and gamers are enjoying it.

Good they deserve success and hopefully with so much backing and goodwill they will return the favour and sort the issues

Picked up ps5 disc, Astro bot, sm2 and the new sonic game for circa £405.

@Dalamar73 6/7 doesn’t really make a huge difference.

It was more to point out that the reviews that waited for a day 1 patch were still scoring it around the ballpark of others.

Meaning that the day 1 patches hadn’t fixed it.

So the 2 outlets that waited for reviews (PX and EG) give it a 4 and 6 respectively.

So clearly there are still issues the dev has even said so themselves and commenting on Reddit too so engaging with players. I really hope the devs can fix it up. They deserve it and I’m glad people have supported them.

But Phil said this was a GoTY contender yet it’s sitting not especially high.

There’s a few more lukewarm previews out there, but there’s a few month till release so hopefully it keeps progressing nicely

@GeeForce and what does it matter what they think if they don’t have access to it?

Most Xbox/multiplatform sites (here, eg, Reddit) seem to be giving plenty of support for the devs

@bowzoid deadzone seems to be set at 0 where most games are 0.1-0.2.

Hopefully it’s a simple fix and will be done soon, a lot of people are having this issue.

@OldGamer999 when the Dev themselves put out a statement themselves acknowledging that there are issues, then there are issues.

There’s 0 bad faith around stalker, everyone wanted and wants the devs to succeed.

Everyone is saying they will be patient and give the devs the time they need.

@kevinm360 it’s just part of the narrative at DA. Of the it’s doing terrible brigade.

Other than that I’m glad stalker has had lots try it out, I hope they address some issues soon then I’ll be raring to jump in!

Luckily I have 3 weeks off over Xmas, so I’m sitting this down until then at the earliest.

@Dalamar73 I checked stalker sub on Reddit, unfortunately there’s a lot of bugs. Whether these are game breaking or tolerable vary by the user.

But it’s definitely not polished. But the day 1 patches have helped.

Even the dev has put out a statement acknowledging there are issues.

People are more annoyed at the overall situation I think rather than it being a stalker thing - 2 big games release in 2 days, both have issues - Pro patch issues on the Sony side etc.

It’s tough for devs, but people are being more choosey in what they buy at the minute and a poor start can be hard to recover from.

Glad I didn’t pre load it.

But damn this is a bummer. Shame for the devs with everything they have gone through. Perhaps a little delay would have helped.

At what point should we mention Phil was touting this as GoTY contender.

Someone has to miss out though, there’s a limit.

Personally I never thought Forza would be included, but then I’m also surprised HD2 made it, because more often or not every update is moaned about.

@GamingFan4Lyf I really hope Sony don’t with hold it. It shouldn’t be.

But reading on it, it seems that Sony appear more interested in the anime part, and it just happens to be that the parent company owns fromsoft. Doesn’t seem to be a play to just get FS. So hopefully to get the deal signed it they have to include some sort of multi platform release for FS games.

Perhaps they will allow from soft to operate as they already do (as was part of the bungee deal) hopefully they do, ER/AC deserve to be everywhere.

I assume this is to fix what had been leaked by people who were playing pre day 1 patch.

It looked rough and had performance issues. So hopefully this sorts it all!

2 years ago I picked it up for £180/90 on Amazon so let’s see what it gets to this year

@Utena-mobile they dislike it because the game they thought should be on there list isn’t, or one on their favourite box or whatever.

There’s so many ‘GoTY’ awards out there, it’s all kinda meaningless anyway.

What have Xbox released this year that is GoTY worthy or universally praised? Flight sim probably would, but there has to be a cut off somewhere.

This ever expanding game is 100gb,

Yet stalker 2 is 150gb - btw when are reviews for this?

I unfortunately bumped into some threads on it and it sounds like performance might be an issue. - I’d rather not download 150gb if it’s worth waiting for a patch

Console gamers often want choice of graphics and fps. At least the Pro offers this choice for the more console enthusiasts. But for general consumer of course the base models are good enough.

@Elbow I don’t know why but PC also don’t seem to be flocking to it. Judging the numbers of CoD sold on steam.

Developers openly stated it was an issue with optimisation or whatever it was - if this was infact a lie and they had signed a deal - then why would MS not refute the fact it is their hardware? And then allow the game on the console.

It’s just really weird.

But as you say the week they have dropped it in is brutal. You have even missed out like a dragon that drops a week before wilds. - and look at the engagement for the wilds beta.

I hope avowed releases good and doesn’t get lost in those other titles

Buying an Xbox won’t allow that. Due to Sony games/bought exclusives and so on.

That 7% is still what 5million or so? And that’s when there was no major releases.

In general neither Sony nor MS make money on a console (especially at start of generation)

There’s a big difference to sourcing 5million parts to potentially 100million. Cost of manufacturing drops too and all kinds.

Casuals/families etcwon’t stomach £1000 consoles.

@carlos82 I don’t think either MS nor Sony want £700 ‘standard’ consoles. Because it just won’t work out for them.

There’s a difference between producing upto 100m of a standard console and 5-10m pro version for enthusiasts.

Consoles are generally loss leaders to get people into the ecosystem and buy software and services.

World reasons aside (inflation wars etc) I believe both will want to be under £600 and probably closer to £550.

They are making more money than previously.

So as a company yes. And that’s all they will care about.

As consumers, I think the jury is still out there. Yes game pass is still good value, but its cost is rising. We are still waiting on the pipeline of games they keep telling us are coming. Then there’s the whole mixed messaging.

MS have fingers in a lot of pies but none are currently running optimally.

All about money.

@Major_Player the S is a good little console. Sure it has some limitations but for £250 they are a good trade off.

But this was a base ps4 game (and would have been on Xbox one) so it should run well.

I think it will drop further (or get a game bundled)

The rumours were ps5 (disc) for like £405 and some Fortnite sh*te in it.

So I think MS will get close to that.
