Five months ago, Xbox announced a new system called Xbox Player Voice that would serve as a feedback portal for Xbox fans, allowing people to share their requests and hopefully see some of them come to fruition over time.

The portal immediately got inundated with requests for everything from the return of exclusives to the idea of making online multiplayer totally free, and the first mini-feature (switching total playtime from days to hours) was added that same week.

After that though, things started to get a bit messy. Microsoft's team have only added a few official responses on the platform for feedback they've addressed, but they've actually implemented loads more of the suggestions that were submitted a few months ago - as highlighted by Xbox fan Klobrille on social media:

• Reintroduction of Xbox Console Exclusives
• Mythic Achievement (Completion)
• General enhancements to Achievements
• Achievements for Original Xbox games (announced)
• Record voice chat in clips
• Change playtime from Days to Hours
• DLC Achievements receiving an "Add-on" tag
• Wishlist improvements
• Return of Spyro (announced)

Despite all this, it still feels like Xbox Player Voice has been somewhat abandoned by Microsoft at this point. The top requests are getting actioned in some cases, but nobody's following up on them to say they've been implemented.

The other problem is that all of the requests on the first page of Xbox Player Voice were submitted within the first couple of weeks of the portal's launch. Trying to get a new suggestion onto the first page is basically impossible, so people just keep upvoting and commenting on the same things from a few months ago.

Five Months Later, Xbox Player Voice Feels Stuck Between A Useful And Cluttered Place 2

You can sort by "Most Trending" instead, but even that page doesn't contain many new suggestions towards the top.

Clearly, the initial rollout of Xbox Player Voice proved extremely useful for both Team Xbox and the fans, and it's great to see that various improvements have been made as a result of it. Going forward though, we've love for a few tweaks to be made to the system to make it more effective, and here's hoping it won't be given up on entirely.
