@InterceptorAlpha I’m thinking firefight when combined with the new “mini game” forge mode being added this season.

Hopefully we’ll see campaign AI in season 5 or 6.

@Tonmoy completely agree. It’s weird because Bungie and the Destiny series don’t have a enjoyable gunplay in my opinion as Halo. 343 built on what Bungie created.

Generally speaking I play Halo and Infinite because of 343. They’ve made horrendous choices in almost every area except for the core gameplay.

I wouldn’t play Halo if it were like CoD.

Hyped for season 4! Should be interesting to see where we go with season 5.

Great announcements but another year goes by and MS/343 fumble showing off Halo Infinite and yet we’re getting trailers for Overwatch 2?! It’s just embarrassing at this point.

This is Xbox’s biggest stage. If 343 wants to flaunt an improved Halo Infinite, this the place to do it.

I know I won’t be entirely disappointed this year. There’s going to be Halo back on the main stage again! Season 4 is shaping up well.

@Nightcrawler71 Diablo can be. For me the fun comes once you get in the end game. Playing interesting builds and getting better loot. It’s a real treadmill.

A little bit of Diablo IV today but the rest of the weekend nothing.

I’ll be flying back from the US East Coast to the UK to spend a few weeks with my family.

I hope Party Animals plays differently from Gang Beasts because that’s all I see when I hear about the game.

@themightyant regarding you last point I never enjoyed the yearly or every couple of years releases. I guess you’re referring to CoD? Halo and Battlefield usually had a few years to grab your attention.

I’m happy with games being around for a good while but it’s how they do it is the problem. Engine updates never happen and you have to accept even with updates at certain aspects of the game won’t change. Unless it’s Fortnite, which deserves is criticism but it has an evolving game engine.

Only thing I remember of RF4 when my wife posted it was one of the characters saying “it’s almost 9…” a lot. It became an in-joke in our house after that.

@Tasuki well Summer Games Fest has been going for several years. It’s usually as-well-as.

@S1ayeR74 honestly you're not missing out on much. It's better to have the playback and skip through the bits you don't want.

Playing Diablo 4 with my wife it’s not too shabby.

I can't think of another company with so many "eras" like Rare. No other company really compares. Other companies like Nintendo, Sega, Capcom and Square Enix are still carrying on with at least some old IPs.

I got into Rare with the Super Nintendo but there was a Rare era before even then and there were several more after that. It's just such an interesting company. They just keep reinventing themselves for better or worse. I'm glad they're no longer the Kinect company though.

@Decoy_Snake really though? I'm sure Rare really cares about their older IPs but they're basically cameos in Sea of Thieves.

I was just reading that they’re working on two expansions to the game. That’s aside from the seasons they’re planning too.

Nothing for me. Which is a shame because I was really excited for Cassette Beasts. Loved the world building nor couldn’t find the mental bandwidth to enjoy it. Sadly I bounced off.

Tears of Kingdom inevitably won out with my Halo Infinite weekly taking second place.

Tear of the Kingdom still. Think I’ll be playing this one for ages to come.

Started Diablo 4. My wife and I are lvl10 or 11. I’m playing Druid she’s playing Sorcerer.

Other than that not playing Halo Infinite but will be keeping an eye on HCS Dreamhack Dallas. Can’t believe Quadrant swept Optic in 3 games straight. There’s still today and tomorrow to go but that was pretty wow.

I was just lamenting the other day this wasn’t on console and now it is I have to find time to play it!

It’s a bit of fun and I’m here for it.

@Krzzystuff the campaign (white) weapons are so much fun. Hydra & needler are mindless fun. I love it.

And those weapons are in arena 4v4 with super fiesta too!

More Tears of the Kingdom. Unlikely to get any Halo Infinite in this weekend but if another game got a look in that’d be it.

Never understood the appeal of infection. They’ve done a interesting job of differentiating it from previous versions though.

I heard some leaks of Jeff Steitzers’ announcer voice lines for infection and we’re in for an absolute treat. That man is a legend.

Cassette Beasts is so far away! I’ll probably not beat it but I’ll at least give it a try at some point.

@NintendoByNature agreed. I’m not much for strategy and rpgs much any more. Top-down, third and first person adventures are where I spend my time these days.

I’m playing Aramagi 2 with my wife. It’s glitchy but there’s so much to like about this title. There needs to be more coop stealth games! I might give Unity a try if the servers are still up. Or Monaco.

Also playing BotW. Just got to Gerudo Town. I love this game so much but cooking is a chooooorrrrrrre.

@NintendoByNature I have to agree about AW1. Loved it back in the day. There’s still a charm about it but I’ve not found myself coming back as soon as I got to Grit in the campaign. I like Grit I think I just have more interesting games to play.

I’m not too disappointed I got it with the Switch Online voucher and TotK.

It’s going to start off with a bit of action you worry if the hero will make it in the end the characters are sitting idle in the middle of the screen while they rip space & time in two with garlic and throwing knives.

@Amigator Slay The Spire is the number one choice. Monster Train is fairly popular and then there’s Pirate Outlaws too which are all on Xbox.

Wildfrost just came out if you have steam or switch.

Post-Slay the Spire the scene really exploded.

Unfortunately nothing on Xbox.

I’m playing Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp and Breath of the Wild on Switch though.

@Moonglow we're not sure how much Microsoft is to blame but a pretty consistent theme coming from ex-343 staff is that higher ups were a big issue.

I think in general 343 are turning it around now. They definitely have some passionate team members who want to deliver. Even to people like Frank O'Connor, Bonnie Ross and Kiki Wolfkill I wish success in the future. I think they have passion and drive but I think that it would have been better served in a new IP not Halo.

This is fantastic news! Frank O’Connor can pretty much be tied to the downfall of Halo post-Bungie through his public statements.

So glad Microsoft cleared house. I don’t think Infinite will ever regain popularity but it certainly won’t get worse.

Mostly Vampire Survivors with the new DLC out. A bit of Halo Infinite just for the fun of it because I’ve completed the season 3 pass.

Trying to sneak a little Breath of the Wild in here & there too.

@NEStalgia it’s turning the thing off that does it for me. There’s a million buttons down, by default, that I just don’t care about.

Makes me appreciate the Xbox & Switch UIs.

If it’s just an OS this means Microsoft can get a slice of the pie without making the hardware.

We're truly in the silver age of throw it at a wall and see what sticks phase of live service games.

@LordFunkalot yea, it’s awful and honestly I feel it does it harm than good with gameplay of this quality of people are in the fence about a game.

The Halo Infinite gameplay was truly awful but I was always going to play the game.

@kungfumongoose I didn't see it but you should check out IGN playing Halo Infinite. I don't know why anyone would pay for that.

I can see why this something people would enjoy but I can’t see myself playing it.

As for IGN gameplay quality there was the notorious Halo Infinite pre-launch gameplay on Streets where they walked along the map with a plasma pistol on charge up burning through energy. Nobody expects eSports level gameplay from IGN but it was a bit jarring.

A bit of Halo Infinite. I’m at lvl90 in the season 3 pass now. Also Vampire Survivors again. Had 3 runs go well in a row. Feeling untouchable!

I’ve also started Kingdom Rush: Frontiers on the Switch. Got Kingdom Rush: Origins queued up to but probably won’t start that until next week or so.

@Nic-Noc20th-C My Dad loves two types of game; Golf and Assassin’s Creed. He didn’t enjoy 2K’s efforts as much last year but is excited to get another EA golf game.

@Krzzystuff I've seen some min-max guides online but it usually comes at a cost of other player activities which can lead to a negative experience for not only yourself but other people. YMMV though!
