One of the most well-received announcements from the Xbox Games Showcase was the reveal of the Xbox Series X25 limited edition console to celebrate Xbox's 25th anniversary, and based on first impressions, it seems like it's going to sell extremely well when it releases in November of this year.
That means we could have a potentially troubling situation on our hands - a limited edition product with mass demand. Scalpers will undoubtedly be looking to make a quick buck on the system, and it sounds like Microsoft is going to do everything possible to prevent that from happening.
Earlier today, the good folks at Windows Central spotted a tweet from Xbox's Director of Creative Marketing (Josh Munsee), who confirmed that the issue is "top of mind and being worked on".
As things stand, we don't have a release date or price for the Xbox Series X25, so it sounds like they want to get everything in order before hitting the "go" button. The limited edition controller, on the other hand, has a lot more details over on the official Xbox website, and will be releasing separately in October for those who don't want the console.
We'll obviously keep you in the loop about the Xbox Series X25 and pre-order details for it, but in the meantime we'd love to hear how you think Microsoft should try and combat scalpers with the release for this system.
And if you want more information about the console itself, we've covered that elsewhere on Pure Xbox:
