Re: Rumour: Microsoft Is Apparently Still Bringing Call Of Duty 2025 To Xbox One

OskarRex

@themightyant I don't think that's what they are doing. They probably are just building the game with last gen as a target and then they scale it up for current gen as far as the last gen consoles support it.

I don't mind keeping the game in last gen, I don't play it that often. But I do think they are robbing the devs opportunities to try something else, and once again, that's making the series stagnant.

Re: Roundup: Here's What The Critics Think Of Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

OskarRex

I visit Push Square a lot too, I don't really have a horse in in console war race, so I play on every machine.

Said that. Man, Push Square reviews have some of the worst takes I've seen published. Last week's review of Mechwarrior 5 Clans was awful.

That game is not perfect, but they missed the point of it completely. This game getting this amount of praise and seeing their review just exemplifies the issues with their reviews a lot more.

Re: Bloober Team Says It's Done Making 'Sh**ty Games' As It Prepares For Cronos: The New Dawn

OskarRex

Not gonna lie, most of their games aren't very good. They do have some interesting ideas but most of the time they fall flat, The Blair Witch being the best example of this. I think the only games I genuinely enjoyed were The Medium and Observer.

This is why I wasn't excited on them working on the SH2 remake but seeing the positive reception of it and how this game looks, I really hope they turn it around exploit the good ideas they have.

Re: Here's A Look At Every Xbox Studio Following The ActiBlizz Acquisition

OskarRex

@BAMozzy I hadn't thought this way. Already preordered the "new" COD for access to the open beta (yeah I'm a sucker for COD and the old maps), should have waited for that cash to land in Microsoft's pockets instead of Bobby Kotick's.

They already charged my card, but I think that money actually goes a few days before?

Re: New Starfield Test Suggests It Could Run At 40-60FPS On Xbox Series X

OskarRex

@Ocat I didn't mind 30 FPS in games. But after getting an OLED TV it's been pretty rough. They have faster response times so the frames are generated and displayed much quicker, which translates to each frame having more screen time and causing stuttering. That makes for a pretty poor experience on 30 FPS games, especially first-person shooters.

I seriously can't play Starfield for a long time cause the stuttering makes me nauseous, which had never happened to me before and I've been playing games for almost 30 years! I have like 10 hours at most and have been playing since early access, so a 40 FPS mode would be a very welcome addition so I could play and enjoy the game.

Re: Talking Point: Should Xbox Make A Revised Controller With Haptic Feedback?

OskarRex

Not really, I have a PS5 and most of the time is more annoying than useful. I'm talking about the triggers, the HD rumble is fine I guess.

But the Xbox controller does need better shoulder buttons, both PS5 and Switch Pro controllers have more reliable shoulder buttons. Gyroscope too, it's 2023, Sony and Nintendo have had them on their controllers since 2006, it's not something new and has proven to be a reliable function to aim in shooters, having it on Xbox would make developers use it more on their games.

I remember the first Xbox One controller having something akin to a gyroscope with the IR sensors of the Kinect, but that thing was dead a year later and never had a replacement.

Re: Xbox Games With Gold For July 2023 Announced

OskarRex

I'm fine with these games, Darkwood has been on my wishlist forever. Probably I'm in the minority here preferring indies 'cause the big games I get them when they come out (no new games for me next month on Plus), so it's nice to discover games that otherwise would have flown under my radar, The Vale is one of them and was the first GWG I've enjoyed in a while.

But not every month the indies are even good or hidden gems. So I share the sentiment of it being an after-thought or not on par in quality with PS Plus.

Re: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy Launches On Xbox In Early 2024

OskarRex

Holy *****! I didn't think we would see them on Xbox. I've already played them all on the 3DS but this news makes me want to buy the original trilogy and double dip on my Xbox the whole series.

I'm a big fan of Ace Attorney, I have even played the fan-translated versions of the Edgeworth games, hopefully Capcom brings those officially to the west too.

Re: Poll: Would You Rather Have EA Play Or Ubisoft Plus Included With Xbox Game Pass?

OskarRex

EA Play for sure, while I don't play sports titles anymore, it's nice to have the latest roster update for when I have someone over that likes to play those games. Besides, the Hazelight stuff is miles better than any Ubisoft game and those go on sale almost every week, at this point, I own everything I want to play from Ubisoft sans AC Valhalla, and that is because I haven't finished Odyssey.

Re: Hi-Fi RUSH Feels Like A Rhythm Game Version Of God Hand, And We're Absolutely Loving It

OskarRex

@The_Pixel_King Xbox's own wireless headphones are great for their price range, way better than the PS5's Pulse, I own both. The closest PS5 headphones to the Xbox ones are the INZONEs which are woefully overpriced, this is coming from someone who loves Sony's headphones (and that's why I thought the Pulse and INZONE would be better).

The only downside I see with the Xbox Wireless Headphones is that you can only connect them wirelessly, unlike the Pulse which can be used with a cable.

Re: Talking Point: Can You Remember The First Game You Ever Completed?

OskarRex

Mechassault on the original Xbox, before that I had a NES and a PSX. For NES they were tough as ***** and had only a handful of games, for PSX Crash games had some hard levels at the end so I didn't beat them either, I had some others but don't remember seeing the credits roll in a game other than winning eleven, and I almost beat Ape Escape but my younger brother scratched the disk and it always crashed at the beginning of the last boss fight.

So yeah, the first game I remember playing until the credits rolled down was the first Mechassault.

Edit: Another barrier that hampered my advance in games was the language, I'm not a native English speaker, but by the time the original Xbox was released, I understood it a little bit more so I was able to make progress on the games. Now I don't like to play them in Spanish because the menus, translations, and dubs are awful most of the time.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Time For Xbox To Introduce A New Dashboard?

OskarRex

@Richnj exactly! The main screen is useless, you can't do anything unless you pin it to the dashboard, and even then the guide is way better at doing practically everything.

Barring that, I actually like the rest of the UX, the guide, games and apps, settings, etc. IMO it's way better than the other consoles I've used. I still haven't got a PS5 so I don't include it in my comparison, but from the usual comments and seeing the PS4 UX, I doubt it is any better.
