Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 11-12)

Lavalera

Final fantasy 7 on my Xbox. Think I'm nearing the end. It feels old in a lot of ways but the story is very good so I can look through that.

On my ps5 I'm playing Fist of the north star. A game from the makers of the Yakuza series. Not one of their best games but still highly enjoyable. Outside of that sweeping some missions here and there in Lego the Skywalker saga.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think TMNT: Shredder's Revenge's Metacritic Score Will Be?

Lavalera

Meta critic doesn't mean much to me. There are high rates games I don't like and lower rated games I love. I rather see reviews split into graphics, sound, gameplay, technical performance etc, since everyone prefers anything else.
But yeah if I have to guess something 79 because of many people who like this retro style of game will review it. But I think the people who like this style of game will play it anyways no matter the score

Re: Four Games Announced For Xbox Game Pass At Summer Game Fest 2022

Lavalera

That midnight fight express game looks interesting. I might try humankind when it's out. The turtle game doesn't do anything for me, I liked that type of game when I was young but played to much of and prefer 3d action games nowadays so I'll skip that one. But it seems I'm the only one here that isn't enthusiastic about it haha

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 4-5)

Lavalera

Playing original ff7 on my Xbox. While it's clear that it's a old game graphic sound and control wise, I'm actually enjoying it.
On my Ps5 I'm farming for the platinum for lego star wars the Skywalker saga after finishing the story. Since my platinum farming is always more of a side thing I also started Fist of the north star. From the makers of the Yakuza series and its visible in every way

Re: Xbox Expected To Feature 'A Lot Of Gameplay' At Next Week's Showcase

Lavalera

Lets see what they come up with. We already knew in advance this year was a dry year with supposedly only Starfield and Redfall coming and with those delayed to next year we have no first party games for this year. So i really really hope they will come with some surprise releases and great 3rd party gamepass additions

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 28-29)

Lavalera

Started ff7 on the Xbox. Never played it before. It's a fun game for what I've played and the dated graphics didn't bother me as much as I think it might. So who knows I might play more older games after this. As a side game I'll be playing some Elder scroll online. I usually have one side game which can be anything from shooters to short gamepass games to stuff like diablo fifa or eso. Keeps me from burn out on my main games.

On my Ps5 I still play Lego Star wars. Pretty relaxing and very funny game. Think I'll get the platinum for that one.

Re: Xbox Series S Just Outsold Both PS5 Models In Japan

Lavalera

@Royalblues I hope you're right m8 Seeing the bigger publishers like Bandai, Sega and Square finding their way again to Xbox gives me hope the "smaller" ones like Falcom, NISA etc will come as well. I get that console exclusive exist, but so many 3rd party games which are not avalaible isnt a good thing in my opinion. I like to be able to play a game where i want to play the game and not being locked behind a certain console.

Re: Xbox Series S Just Outsold Both PS5 Models In Japan

Lavalera

@Royalblues thanks for the info m8. A lot of stuff I didn't know since I wasn't really a console gamer back then. Basically got my info from a bit of news here and there and sales figures and such. Just curious, you think Xbox will get a lot of those Japanese developers back or at lwast a lot more Japanese games on the Xbox? Never been a real fan of the switch, mainly because Pokémon Zelda and Mario don't mean much to me to be honest, but I am Interested in jrpg and that was one of the main reasons I bought a ps5 since the Xbox is lacking them

Re: Xbox Series S Just Outsold Both PS5 Models In Japan

Lavalera

@UltimateOtaku91 I meant historically speaking. After the ps2 sonys popularity decreased in Japan. The ps2 sold 24 mil and the ps3 and ps4 around 10 so a lot less. So historically they weren't as far back as they are now. Japan now seems to prefer the handheld switch over the playstation consoles.
Why they stopped with jrpgs during the Xbox one is beyond me. But a lot of things during the one Era is beyond me, they made some very bad decisions there. Now you see Xbox is getting their relationships up with the Japanese developers up again and we see Japanese games coming to Xbox again like Yakuza, tales of arise, scarlet nexus etc etc. Sure no exclusives yet but they are supposedly working on a monster hunter type of game which is very popular in Japan. And if they bring in more Japanese games and exclusives more Japanese people will buy Xbox, more games will be a de for Xbox etc. So with the right content they might even outsell the 360

Re: Xbox Series S Just Outsold Both PS5 Models In Japan

Lavalera

@UltimateOtaku91 your last paragraph says exactly why this news should be celebrating. They are gaining ground in the Nintendo and playstation dominated Japan which could mean like in the 360 period we are going to see more Japanese games on Xbox which will drive the sales even more there. So one weeks digits don't say much but seeing the total amount they sold already is positive for Xbox
And the 360 did so well because of exclusive jrpg like lost odyssey and such

Re: Xbox Activision Blizzard Deal Is 'Moving Fast' Says Microsoft President

Lavalera

@SplooshDmg yeah I agree addons can be a thing. Theoretically that should be possible with mod support but putting them all on Xbox is going to he a tough thing. So even though I would love a port I doubt we will ever get one.

@InterceptorAlpha while that might have been the case in the past bfa and shadow lands cut down a lot of spells. I used to play wow for ages and quit during shadow lands expansion. In the past I needed tons of hotbar but it wasn't as bad anymore during the last 2 expansions. If it really was a problem for wow they wouldn't have implemented controller support like splooshdamage also mentioned

Re: Xbox Activision Blizzard Deal Is 'Moving Fast' Says Microsoft President

Lavalera

@SplooshDmg Not quite Wow, but i play Final Fantasy Xiv on my PS5 and even though i always played MMORPG like wow and ffxiv on pc before for ages, i can tell you while it is a bit getting used to playing it on a controller, it does work fine. So i wouldnt be against a wow version on xbox. But it will probably be some work to port it over, it prolly has to get the classic treatment to port it over and that might be to much work. But playing it on a controller im pretty sure can work well, seeing that it works wonders on FFXIV and i dont see WoW as much more complex than Wow

Re: Early Look At PS Plus Premium Shows How It Compares To Xbox Game Pass

Lavalera

@Neverwild oh I will. Its one of those games where if I see the trailers and gameplay footage it doesn't draw me in to buy it, but that's the biggest advantage of these game services you can try out a lot of games you otherwise would never have tried. Thanks to gamepass I found the Yakuza series for instance which became my favorite series after playing them on gamepass. So I hope I will like concrete genie as well

Re: Early Look At PS Plus Premium Shows How It Compares To Xbox Game Pass

Lavalera

I'm new to playstation this generation and there are a few games I don't own yet that I wanna try out. Returnal, death stranding and Demon souls aren't my type of game usually but at least I can try them out if I upgrade. Miles morales I almost bought but held out when I heard it would come to extra. Outside of those maybe I'll try concrete genie but that's about it, most of the exclusives I have in the ps plus collection anyways. What I am missing on the list are jrpgs. I know the list isn't complete but still. I'll upgrade my 6 month subscription to extra at least and will see after that if I keep it or not next to gamepass

Re: These 10+ Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (May 16-20)

Lavalera

The only one that really interests me is Swansong, but for that one I'm awaiting the reviews. Dolmen looks like it's far to difficult for me even though I like action rpgs my experience with the ones without difficulty slider isn't that good haha, so I'll stay away from it.

Re: Elden Ring Has Outsold Call Of Duty: Vanguard In The US

Lavalera

I'm actually surprised Lego star wars did so well. Even outselling Pokémon arceus.

About the elden ring I don't know what to think about it since it's not my type of game. But for the fans it is good news I guess. I'm just afraid we will get a lot of bad copy paste games now that want to get the same type of succes

Re: Reaction: Bethesda Delays Make June's Showcase Even More Important For Xbox

Lavalera

@RevGaming what does mask wearing now have to do with the game development over the last 2 years? The closing of offices the working from home added a lot of extra months to game development and the unexpected omnicron version last winter threw stuff back again after society was slowly starting to work normally again. So yeah all that stuff pushed all games back several months which they can't simply get back now

Re: Bethesda Delays Starfield And Redfall To First Half Of 2023

Lavalera

@OM1993 I'm afraid you are right. Sure Ms had a stellar 2021 with 5 first party games and the best publisher year ever. Maybe Forza and Belfry show up but that might be it. I don't even count Grounded since it already was out but in early access and Deathloop will be coming to gamepass as well, but it isnt a new release, people who really wanted to play it might have played it on pc or ps already.
And sure we knew in advance 2022 was gone a be a more in between year after the stellar 2021 year, but its getting even worse as we expected. Lets hope 2023 will finally be the year the games will go rolling out, because i can see the reason why a lot of xbox fans get frustrated by this and especially the ones who only play on xbox.

Re: Sony CFO Says That Game Pass-Style Launches Would Cause Exclusives To 'Deteriorate'

Lavalera

@BartoxTharglod I get your point but I don't think it's that black and white. Simple example returnal and miles morales are coming to playstation plus extra. Those are games I usually don't buy, but Im gonna subscribe to playstation plus extra to try them out. Now Sony will get money from me for just trying those games which I might like and buy including dlc, money which they wouldn't have gotten otherwise . I also bought games that I played on gamepass as well since I want to "own" them or want the full package including dlc. And all those bought games are extra money above the gamepass subscription money.
Sure there are people who don't buy games anymore since they don't have the time or money to play games outside of gamepass, but there also a lot of people who still buy those games even when they are in gamepass

Re: Sony CFO Says That Game Pass-Style Launches Would Cause Exclusives To 'Deteriorate'

Lavalera

@Enriesto couldn't agree with you more. It's sad to see those so called fanboys still exist nowadays. Instead of being a fan of gaming they feel the urge to make unwarranted fun of the plastic box they don't own, like I see from some people on this topic again. I still can't understand why they feel the need to do that since there is absolutely no reason to. But oh well meanwhile I'll enjoy both my Xbox and my Ps and my wife loves her switch.

Re: Site News: Welcome To The Official Pure Xbox Game Club!

Lavalera

It's nice to see the discussions on the topic on games you also played or play. That way I get to see what other people think about it and if it resonates with what I thought about it. You can get some interesting points of view that way. And since everyone has acces to the same library it's easier to chose a game. That's why I signed up. I still have to replay this month's game. But it's a short one and early in the month so still have some time.

Re: Soapbox: Thief Deserves Another Reboot On Xbox Series X|S

Lavalera

I agree. Thief 1 and 2 were some of the older games I played on pc. Sure stealth games aren't that new or original anymore but if done right it can be cool games to play. The tension of the games was brilliant and it was one of those games where I would bend my head sideways like that would help me see around a corner lol.

Although I rather have legacy of kain back. I also remember playing soul reaver and loving that. So hoping for both to come back on whatever form

Re: The Final Runtime Of Xbox's Games Showcase Hasn't Been Confirmed Yet

Lavalera

90 minutes also seems on the short side if you see the potential what they might show. Additions to currently running games like Halo, Forza, Sea of thieves, grounded. Gamepass day 1 additions, 3rd party partnerships like contraband etc. And then we have the first party games we need to see more gameplay of. At least Forza MS, Redfall and Starfield and a high chance for stuff like avowed and hellblade. Unanounced games and maybe a few suprises. Maybe i'm hyping it up to much but the potential is huge and we might get a 2 hour show

Re: The Upcoming Xbox Games Showcase Looks Set At 90 Minutes Long

Lavalera

@themightyant Avowed i hope will be there, im hoping for 2023 release date for that, Fonv2 i doubt will come soon, or at least not from obsidian. They are working on grounded, avowed, pentiment and the outerworlds 2, so i doubt Fonv2 actually is in development or it might be from a different studio

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 30 - May 1)

Lavalera

@Royalblues the art style is very Tim Burton like one of its biggest strengths. The story was pretty simple, mostly being told by a narrator, but contained a lot of humor in between. The combat is kinda hard to explain it is a like a combination of dice rolling and a card system so on the rng side once you get used to it can be quite fun.
Took me around 20ish hours to complete it, so not overly long. I would surely recommend it

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 30 - May 1)

Lavalera

Started Cyberpunk after clearing Lost in random this week. That one was quite fun actually. Cyberpunk I can't say to much about yet only a few hours in. On my Ps5 I'm playing Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana. The further I come the better it becomes great action Jrpg

@Royalblues good luck with Elden Ring! I haven't started it myself, generally not in to the challenging type of games, but I hear this one is more accessible so who knows one day I'll play it too
