@Banjo- currently enjoying super Mario wonder and dead space remake (which just got into game pass so i can use the money i saved on xbox to get super mario). Great time to be a gamer.

@JayJ hell, xbox just won publisher of the year a few years back. Now having doom, diablo, cod ect first party? I dont have the TIME to play all this amazing stuff …

@OldGamer999 i stopped caring about metacritic years ago, i dont need someone to tell me how my food tastes and need a 95 to enjoy a game. Starfield was epic for me, hifi rush a nice surprise, both did well for xbox. Forza has the foundation to be incredible long term, and ABK will add even more value to the service i cant see myself cancelling Not to mention the content coming to halo has given it new life. Excited for the future of xbox.

@Darude84 yeah, Starfield is already one of Bethesda’s most successful launches, reached 11 million players already, and dominated headlines all month. Xbox also saw the biggest game pass sub jump that day than at any other point in game pass history, and also was top of npd last month while also being on game pass and will have a huge tail to it that people will come back to. HiFi rush was also incredible, Halo is seeing a comeback, and we got age of empires on console and closed abk.

Sometimes the things people say just make no sense. Aside from Redfall 2023 has been incredible for xbox and game pass!

@LoquaciousB yeah Sony is having some MAJOR happenings going on. Jim Ryan (leaving) Connie Booth fired, her team basically wanting to quit, Factions on ice, Firesprite in extreme mismanagement, now this? Sony’s future is simply not that rosie right now and their future roadmap is anyones guess. Meanwhile, xbox has a clear roadmap of what they want to do and how they want to achieve it.

I think Sony has been hiding the trouble of long term sustainability with console sales. Not to mention PSVR2 is going the way of the Vita at this point.

No idea what is going on but it ain’t good over there right now.

This is an absolute steal of a deal, i use my series S almost as much as my X and love it. $300 dollars out the door for hundreds of games and recent releases? Meanwhile, the new playstation digital is $150 more AND $70 per games? Insane difference in price both short and long term. With the recent ***** going on at sony with layoffs, firings, cancellation ect (especially with the abk deal done) the future of gaming at Xbox looks brighter than bright.

Starfield has been an unmitigated success (especially with having 11mil players already) and im excited to see what the dlc will be in the future.

I mean, it only took a year and a half for this “big update” so i’m curious where Forza will be in a year and a half …

This is crazy value when you realize Sony is dropping their “slim” all digital for $450 with a stand sold separately. I already have an X and S since launch so hopefully others enjoy it!

@awp69 i think people just want to point to the low-hanging fruit and use the same tires narratives all the time. Glad MS has been putting out some great first party content this year and great game pass drops for me not to care about stuff like this. When the ABK deal closes just more stuff for me to play!

This is why im glad MS just continues to purchase studios so they dont have to worry about this kinda stuff. If devs want to play favorites then i’ll play favorites and not buy their products. When it underperforms i wont feel sorry for em. Glad gamepass is keeping me WELL FED this year with banger after banger most months. Can’t complain.

@Titntin I wasn't saying that these guys would be saints, I just think it's a widespread problem in the game industry. So much stuff coming out from a lot of companies it seems within the last few years.

Being the Halloween season, I'd be curious to know when Double Fine is gonna make a Costume Quest 3. I LOVE those games.

this was a top 5 game for me last year. For all the flack it got I REALLY enjoyed it.

Almost 4 years to the day that Shawn Layden's reign abruptly came to an end ... Two leaders out within the span of 4 years? Kinda spooky. But the ABK shenanigans really made the company look bad so I pretty much called this once all that went down.
I hope they get an actual gamer leading the charge instead of just a suit next time. I liked Shawn Layden.

Don't really hear many console players talk about this game very much. PC players lauded it when it originally came out but once the PlayStation release dropped I don't see them talking about it. I think this is a game that really will live on in the PC community but be forgotten on console.

@FatalBubbles I'm a big fan of stand alone DLCs; I hope THOSE become more common, live Hivebusters, instead of needing to own the original game.

@Jaxx420 actually, there are a good amount of AAA games that support 120. Many more would be appreciated, but games like call of duty, gears 5, dirt 5, battlefield, apex legends, doom eternal, halo infinite, deathloop, destiny, Resident Evil games, ect have it. I think the main game genres that have it are gonna be first person shooters and racers, and hopefully they bring it to more in the future but I'd definitely say it is a good amount.
I don't particularly use it myself, 60 fps is welcomed for me with good visuals, but it's a pleasant surprise when it's there.

@BRT15 Totally agree. Media sites are simply click-baity traffic focused at this point. No better than some of the youtubers and smaller scale sites at this point.

@Sakai If i did that it would take me HUNDREDS of hours to get anywhere lol. I'm currently around 30 hours and on the last main mission. When I'm not playing Starfield, I'm thinking of Starfield. When I'm not thinking of Starfield, I'm reading or listening to podcasts about it.

Absolutely ENTHRALLED with this game.

@Wheatly We don't know what the specifics of the marketing deal are. Think of it like the Zenimax acquisition, not every single zenimax game dropped in there that was previously released, and games like deathloop and ghost wire had a year timed exclusive with Sony so they had to wait. I think people are expecting every single ABK game ever to just show up when the deal closes, while it will most likely come in waves.

Depending on when the COD marketing with Sony is up we will be getting it day and date when that deal is done. We'll just have to wait for confirmation of when, exactly, that is. My guess is after 2023 it's over.

I can't wait for this.

@Wheatly that's not what he's talking about. He's saying when the deal closes every single game ABK has isn't gonna be dropped in there all at once. Has nothing to do with future, unreleased games.

This is why i think gamers themselves should be at the top of their respective gaming divisions and leading the charge. Don't want a suit who doesn't game making gaming decisions, just doesn't make sense.

Finally, common sense prevailed. Releases on X and S, just no split-screen on S. It's an outdated feature and fewer games use it these days. I'm sure it'll be hardly anywhere in 5 years.

@CaptainCluck I DEFINITELY want the pixel remasters (the snes games are still the cream of the crop in my opinion) but I would prefer ff7 remake stuff rather than 16. That looks to be the better game in my opinion and hits that nostalgic feel.

They should be asking Square-Enix about that, because clearly there are some ... contracts and business deals with CERTAIN platforms that make that difficult currently (we know this from the FTC documents). Go straight to the horses mouth because Phil clearly can't say.
