@Banjo- I'm not into zombie stuff too much, movies or games. Resident Evil is probably exception, but haven't enjoyed much else so I'm not surprised. I also prefer Tomb Raider to Uncharted.
@Banjo- The PS1 is still my favorite PlayStation generation of all time, Final Fantasy 7-9, tactics, Symphony of the Night ect all some of my favorite games of all time. I simply don't care about their first party outside of Spider-Man. GT doesn't interest me, Horizon is good but not enough for me to get one now for; Infamous, GoT, even God of War don't really interest me, and I've played Uncharted and Last of Us both. Frankly, they didn't do anything for me. Good games, but I can do without. Having 3rd party Exclusives like Final Fantasy and some others is what I would be interested in but NOT their first party. I've never been interested in their studios, personally, aside from Insomniac now.
@Banjo- to be completely honest, I've been gaming since the NES back in the late 80s and every PlayStation game i fell in love with was 3rd party. Castlevania games, Final Fantasy, other JRPGs ect. I usually pick up a Playstation later on in the gen for Final Fantasy and now will for Spider-man but don't care for much else.
I think anyone with half a brain, or that actually follows this stuff, knows what they are talking about. If people actually looked at the entire interview and didn't pick out quotes/snippets to try and run with something we know what the end goal is here. It's not really that confusing if you've been keeping up with it. Xbox hasn't been spending all this money and have playstation ect specifically sign a deal that only includes call of duty to put EVERYTHING on all platforms. It's always been a case by case basis and looks at MMO/free to play as a jumping off point. I mean, MLB the show, destiny, marathon ect will be everywhere so we know what the thinking is. Some critical thinking can go a long way.
This will be a huge opportunity for MS to really hit a wide variety of gamers, since mobile is the fastest growing market when it comes to games. It'll be nice to take some wind out of the apple store/google play store's sails.
Make that revenue to fund even more games for the console/game pass.
I like the concept of the wrap, personally. It's WAY cheaper than getting a whole new console, you can have multiple, and I really wouldn't even bother getting a newer special edition if i already own the console. Simply too expensive.
Then again, i don't look at my console anyway when I'm gaming and i prefer to have one that blends in with the entertainment center so it isn't that big of a deal.
Still, I like the wraps and would love potentially a Hi-Fi rush one.
@GamingFan4Lyf you forget that Todd Howard himself writes code, does the PR, replies to feedback on Steam, and brings the latte's for company meetings ...
Alright, Sony. Time to get your house in order. The exodus of Jim Ryan/Connie Booth, Media Molecule, the non-existence of Factions and the continued sh#tstorm at Bungie. I think backroom politics are starting to bleed out into these studios, full stop.
@heyalright sorry but gamers complain about everything these days, so it’s hard to take the “community” seriously. Jacking up prices on things? Sure. An ad that randomly pops up that is now gone? Not worth my time to rage over.
Titanfall was AWESOME and one of the main games i remember from the early years of the Xbox One. Now, with game pass and both an xbox series X and S i have plenty to keep me fed and in 2024 I'll have even more.
Its because Sony’s policy is to have on disc dlc be classified as its own product i believe so there is reclassification and expenses on CDPR side to get that done. It’s a Sony policy that maybe needs to be changed since it isnt required on other platforms i believe.
Just goes to show that most people dont spend their time on twitter/internet or look at metacritic and just the games. Now we can see why ABK was such a golden egg for Xbox. Can’t wait to have the resources funded into other games within ABK, hopefully. StarCraft 3 in the future.
More revenue, more games, more value for game pass. I already have a hard time keeping up with these games and once more start flooding in? So much value. Can't wait to see what awesome content is coming next year!
Interesting finger-pointing about Game Pass in an article that clearly states it didn't chart in the top 150 on either platform. It's snowing out today, must be game pass's fault too.
@ZYDIO i question whether anyone is really "effected" by this, though. I click the B button and its gone forever.
I don't even look at ads on my xbox. I start my console up and play the game almost immediately. I always know what i'm looking for so there's no need to do endless scrolling to find any of these ads.
I have no problem ignoring them entirely. They don't effect me in the slightest.
@Zochmenos when sony raised prices to $70 at the beginning of the generation did they take a stand? Nope. When Nintendo closed the virtual console and nickel dimed for lazy ports of older games did they take a stand? Nope. When someone charges you $30 for a stand that used to be included did they take a stand? Nope. But an ad for a new product that takes 1 second to click away is the final straw.
@Zochmenos indeed. Makes you wonder if any of these people could have survived even 20-30 years ago. It's the participation trophy era where people just want to complain about the most trivial things because they're bored with home life. They probably don't even play games, really.
@Zochmenos I say we all make a support group and meet up. Maybe we can go to every company that does advertising and protest outside said company. That could take a while ...
@Banjo- Yeah the boss fights for the castle at each level are pretty much the same each time. In fact, even with Super Mario Odyssey i felt the boss fights underwhelming.
@theduckofdeath it's almost like the people that complain that xbox doesn't have any marketing and needs to do better are complaining that xbox is marketing there stuff lol I was happy they promoted Starfield, happy about Forza, and happy about this. I saw it, clicked a button, and it was gone.
Love seeing the marketing at work. It ain't the boogeyman, here.
Yeah, its never a good look when a bunch of top people at a company are "leaving" aka fired or let go. First Jim Ryan "retires," then Connie Booth is gone, her team is upset, Media Molecule, Fire Sprite, and now this? All in a short amount of time.
@InvaderFromSpace This really is the era of fake outrage and "look at me!" talk. I swear a lot of these dudes probably never even go outside the home ...
I drove down the road the other day and BOOM, a billboard popped out of nowhere trying to sell me a big mac. I had to pull over and compose myself. The absolute horror it introduced to my day was astounding!
@RetroMan71 of course I'm also leery of the madden syndrome with those types of games where it feels too "samey" and is it worth the money compared to the last one.
@Banjo- super mario world is my favorite mario game of all time, remember getting the snes in 1991 with it. While this definitely has tropes to that i wouldnt say its a HUGE inspiration to it or anything. I’m half way id say and its a great game, but one thing i still miss that they just dont do anymore it seems is the koopa kids.
They defined mario world (and 3) for me and i wish they were in this one.
@GeeEssEff i’m not sure what you having a full time job has to do with forming your own opinion? I have all of those things too, and i was gaming WAY before metacritic existed. High on Life was one of my favorite games last year and it has a 67 on metacritic because reviewers “didn’t like the writing.” Gaming journalism from big sites has gone way down hill these days, and i dont need someone like the jimquisition telling me if i should like a game or not. Takes minimal time to watch some videos and read up on a game, and i know if I’m gonna like something or not these days. I’m not gonna choose one game over another because something might be an 8.5 and another is an 8.7. That, frankly, is asinine to me.

Otherwise, I will absolutely wait for a price drop.

So basically disproportionate outrage from the gaming community that, once again, is a nothing burger. Good. People can move on with their lives now.

@Markatron84 exactly. Persistent multiplayer games with skins, battle passes, lobbies needing to be fed is way different than a single player game.

Starcraft BroodWar is my most played game in history, hundreds of hours on MP 2v2 zero clutter infinite resources on user map settings.
Lots of great memories and team Zerg still reigns supreme. A good lurker front with hydra with dark swarm to cover. Memories.
