Well, considering "some" devs and gamers consider the series S holding games back what would you think this will do to the devs? Another SKU to develop for? Will they make handheld specific games? Is is cloud only? If its a hybrid console i cant see it being their only console as the performance would not increase from current gen and we see that the specs on the xbox/ps are more than what the Nintendo devices can handle. I just think the market will get saturated and the Rog Ally/Steam Deck and Switch would be enough.

Yeah, just more average for me. Maybe when they decide to show up with some big first party stuff, but ...

Zero. Waste of space and plastic IMO. everything else is moving towards digital, as much as people wanna kick and scream about it Agent Smith said it best, "That is the sound of inevitability."

@Kaloudz My first was the original, and Ive played each in succession (aside from 2-3 which didn't come to the US until much later). I've had the pleasure of seeing the evolution from the beginning.

@Kaloudz Jobs are the class types used and the abilities you can acquire, basically like Final Fantasy 5.

@Kaloudz Yeah i'm not sure how prevalent grinding is for this game, because like i said, how you customize jobs to your characters is the important stuff. That and you want good equipment.

@Kaloudz it's definitely not easy imo, but it depends how you build your jobs around each character. If you can have a good set-up it wont be as bad but if not you will have a much harder time, at least that's how i saw the first game. I still beat it twice, but have my reservations of putting 65 hours into a game these days. Hard to find the time.

@Kaloudz no they are not. Both games have the 8 characters which each one having their own stories, and the second one having 8 different characters.

Now, there is a super boss in the first one that is basically a side quest that is supposed to tie all 8 of those characters together and that same super boss returns in part 2 that also loosely ties the first game to the second i believe but the main characters are all independent and unique so no need to play 1 before 2 or anything.

These games are massive, however. To beat all 8 stories in the first one it took me like 65 hours, and it will be similar with part 2. Don't get me started on leveling for the super boss, I wasn't gonna put another 10 in getting prepared for that.

Dang right it's a home run. The amount of content and value that xbox is bringing is staggering. The constant showcases with amazing games, the diversity, the road map, and the crazy thing is there's much more! And that sweet sweet game pass. It'd be nice if a certain other company would give the gamers a roadmap and an actually first party showcase instead of crickets, but here we are.

@Kaloudz PlayStation got the 2nd one already, just not the first that's correct. This looks like straight Mana, and I'm all for it! Glad to see the SE/Xbox relationship flourishing now after those rocky times, but i suppose a new man in charge will do that. Of course, the usual trolls and negative people on here will downplay it, as they always do.

Avowed and Hellblade release date. Give it to me! Indiana Jones i'm curious to see. Ara I don't really have much excitement for but the other 3 I'm curious to see.

@AlwaysPlaying indeed, i was THIS close to buying it but then was like (I probably am not gonna play it anyway) so saved myself money. I really with the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters came to xbox soon because i wanna run through all those. Might purchase 5 for the switch just because it deserves another run-through.

@eire-shabba for all the accolades baulder's gate 3 has gotten i still have no desire to play it. Believe it or not, the highest rated "generational" games such as BG3 and Elden Ring both I have no desire to play, believe it or not. Just aren't my type of games.

@TakeItEasy yeah that is weird. The Game Awards also had it as "best ongoing game" which doesnt even make sense since it wasnt a games as a service type game lol. I'd play through it again as it looked great but i played the original to death back in early 2021 so kinda got burned out on it.

Of course it did, it's a great game. It also is the most played RPG of the year, even over BG3.

@GamingFan4Lyf another underrated xbox feature. Instead of needing multiple versions it just knows.

@Cikajovazmaj there's a reason i don't pocket watch what other people are doing. If someone wants to spend money or not spend money on a product or service, that's on them. They can go crazy. I'll just continue to do what saves me the most money and gives me the most bang for my buck.

@NeoRatt all with free cloud saves and that play anywhere you speak of. Sounds like a better deal to me. Xbox game pass had almost $9000 worth of games in it last year. Yeah, think I'll subscribe for the low price instead lol

Gotta love the Xbox social media team. It was all fun and games when Sony did it but now they just shoot themselves in the foot so much, might as well let xbox join in on the roasting. Personally, i love it.

@Kaloudz Sony has been dunking on themselves since the beginning of 2023, and it's continuing in 2024.

@CallMeDuraSouka i cant even remember the story of either of those, although the first one you needed to build areas onto the town or something along those lines, correct? Trying to remember. The vehicular combat was fun in 2 as well from what i remember.

@BowsersBuddy and the bugs should be ironed out after a few years. Not that i had many, just a few quests not starting with NPCs but other than that, keep tossing them Wing-Dings!

@BowsersBuddy I DID enjoy it, yes. Much better than the first one, actually. I believe it launched on game pass originally i wanna say. I recommend it, personally.

Still think Rage is underrated as all hell. Great game IMO. Would love a third one.

@ZeD yeah KILN isn't my type of game but I kept forgetting about Towerborne, which will most likely be one of the earlier releases. I'm hoping Hi-Fi Rush 2 gets an announcement trailer. What a gem of a game. And what i wouldn't give for Costume Quest 3 from Double Fine. I love the first two games.

@EvenStephen7 They've actually added quite a few things since launch (NMS that is) that you'd hardly recognize the game now. It was as bare bones as bare bones can be in 2016. A lot of people enjoy it now since it's gotten, what, 7 years of updates? Now I'm curious where Starfield will be in a few years. After the DLC and mods come out I can't wait to jump back in.

@EvenStephen7 no man's sky and starfield arent really similar games. Starfield has a deep RPG system that's focus on questing and stats of your character where as No man's sky is more of an exploration, "chill" survival type of experience. No man's sky has come a long way since it's introduction in 2016 but the two games are vastly different experiences.

@Sakai steam user review have it as negative and people say they are the most trustworthy reviews are tell it like it is but now steam votes it for an award and they are trolling lol them goal posts be a moving. They can't have it both ways.

@ZeD dont forget ABK game drops in game pass, new ABK games potentially to announce, Towerborne will be out this year, and maybe some other stuff we don't know about. Also Marcus Fenix collection, Flight Sim 2024, and who knows what else. 2024 is gonna be STACKED, brother.

Starfield is definitely an incredible experience. Not surprised it won most innovative. What other game can you have multiple guns with modding, visit multiple planets, have tons of side quest, a base building game on planets, extract minerals, build/steal ships, and have a new game plus where each one can feel different the last? No other game does all of that. Guess people who play games just play and enjoy. Well deserved, Bethesda!

@themightyant not in 2024, brother. Makes me miss the late 90s/early 2000s when you had to search the doldrums of the internet or know people to get leaks. Now, like vampires, they're everywhere ...

Tony Hawk Remaster and i never played the 2009 Wolfenstein game. Would love to try those.

Resident Evil 2 would have to get my vote. Put Remakes on the mark IMO. We should have a most useless Remake debate because LOU Remake would ABSOLUTELY be #1 on that list lol

Well that's because they actually had a lot of stuff to talk about. Quite frankly, the others just didn't have a lot to discuss or got boring real fast. I expect 2024 to be the same.

My top 5 of that gen for me were Fallout 3, Skyrim, Bioshock, Dead Space and FF13. Such a great generation!

The engagement of some of their biggest games is great. 13 mil already for this, 10s of millions for Halo and Forza 5 ect. Active users and engagement is clearly where Xbox wants their bread buttered and their plan is a good one IMO.

Bobby gone! Xbox news just keeps gettin' better. Will miss Lulu, though.
