Re: Microsoft Announces Price Increases For Xbox Series X And Xbox Game Pass

@NEStalgia if you buy the 12 month sub, but monthly PS Premium is 17.99 where GPU is going to 16.99 monthly and includes day and date games. I wait for game pass ultimate on black friday every year anyway, and it costs 22-24 dollar for a 3 month so it's roughly $100 for a year, which i'll keep doing because that's a steal at that price IMO.

@Kaloudz and then you got the people trying to not sound hypocritical when they say it's different when sony/nintendo do it (even though its crazy that ps plus premium is STILL more expensive than game pass ultimate) and you got nintendo nickel and diming you with the same games every gen, along with locking content behind amiibo, but the same people are still in line day one. No integrity, lemme tell ya.

On a side note, Super Mario RPG dude. can't wait!

@Kaloudz Clearly Sony showed us that people will buy stuff no matter what the price increase is, and Nintendo nickel-and-dimes you with having to rebuy the same game over and over because they can't get back compat to work half the time.

Just hyperbole and conjecture in the comment section when in reality people are either overdramatic, hypocritical, or both.

Once Starfield comes out no one will care.

There’s a reason they are doing it BEFORE they acquire ABK and not AFTER. This way they can’t say they raised it due to the acquisition, and everyone will forget about it when the big games start dropping. I mean, the competition has taught us that raising prices is ok and people will pay whatever is needed to play popular games. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

Re: Xbox Exec: We're Still Hesitant To Develop VR Games Until There's A Bigger Audience

@NEStalgia I don't mean designer sunglasses, I mean like a good pair of Under Armour's for $100-200 bucks. When VR becomes that small, comfortable, functional, and inexpensive then it will see an increase in market. Problem is, it won't see that type of form factor/price anywhere close in the next 10 years at least IMO. We're talking way into the future. Traditional ways of gaming is still king and will be for quite some time.

Not surprising, and I'm glad their focus is set elsewhere. VR hardware sales declined 70% from last year. The fact of the matter is most people don't wanna drop hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a headset you have to strap on your face to play a few games that might be worth the investment. Not to mention if there is motion sickness for some. I'd rather just pick up a controller and sit in front of my OLED. Until it's a pair of sunglasses that costs roughly the price of those sunglasses it just isn't going to take off.

Re: Xbox Boss Praises Japanese Relationships, But Admits Square Enix Needs More Work

@Cashews I believe SE is always disappointed with sales, which is weird. and I couldn't believe the low sales of octo2 even being multiplat now. But imagine if a game like the new persona, tales, or final fantasy mainline game were not just day 1 or even on game pass, but exclusive to xbox/pc. There would be a collective outrage I have no doubt. Just would be curious to see how it all played out, but I don't even want those games exclusive but day 1 on the platform along with others.

Re: Xbox Boss Praises Japanese Relationships, But Admits Square Enix Needs More Work

@Tharsman the funny thing is people say they need to get some big exclusive japanese titles to bring xbox up to speed in japan but those same people would complain to no end how xbox is "locking a beloved franchise" behind the xbox ecosystem and how said studio/company would be slapping their loyal fans in the face or something like that. Hell, i've seen it on this site when there was a slight possibility that the persona games could have exclusivity tied to it.

Re: Xbox Misses Out On Yet Another Upcoming Square Enix Release

J_Mo_Money

@Kaloudz Yes. One thing i remember Sakaguchi saying "heard it in an interview long ago" is that Final Fantasy is meant to be beaten, so even if you don't know the systems all that well, if you grind youll be come powerful enough over time to just brute force your way around the game, essentially creating your own difficulty. You'll see those notorious "level 1" playthroughs on older FFs where they dont gain any levels and just try to make it as difficult as possible.
I personally love standard level in games like that where you create your own challenge, or can become a god if you so choose by simply putting in the time.

@Kaloudz The absolute best thing about that era of JRPGS (specifically Square ones) is that they arent the 70 hours slogs that alot of jrpgs are today. I think that is just too long and much prefer the 25-30 or so hours it takes for those types of games.

I can usually do most stuff on FF 4 and 6 in 20 or so, so perfect length IMO but since you wont know those games inside and out id bet more on the 25-35 range depending your speed.
