Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Crash Bandicoot On Xbox Game Pass?

Hutchilawd

It's not a huge deal it being on GP. People who are into Crash Bandicoot most likely bought it years ago or when it was on sale for like £5. If Xbox want a big GP reaction, they need to drop a load of ABK games onto GP all at once. Like a, "here's what we own, enjoy!" kinda drop. This 1 game at a time nonsense doesn't really hold up. Especially when it's so old.

Re: It's Official! Fallout Is Getting A Second Season

Hutchilawd

Binge'd it in one sitting. Incredible. Been a fallout fan forever and it really didn't disappoint. Think it's actually the best tv show I've seen in a very long time. Got my dad to watch it, he's never played the game (and probably doesn't know what one of those Play X station box things are 😂) he loved it. They really did nail it.
Can't wait for season 2!

Re: Two New Xbox Sales Are Now Live, 250+ Games Discounted Until Late April

Hutchilawd

Ah, the "but it'll probably drop on gamepass as soon as I buy it" thing is real. I thought it was just me 😂 I'm still waiting on pinball fx tables going on sale. I know as soon as I buy them, they will. Got a great deal on the 1st marvel set. I mean even at full price they work out at less than £3 a table, but I'm Scottish.... I like cheap. Does that count as a hate crime against myself? 🤣

Re: Talking Point: Do You Prefer Shorter Or Longer Games In General?

Hutchilawd

I like a good tactical shooter/sniper game. So it varies. Sniper ghost warrior contracts is pretty short but really good and replayability is good too. Ghost Recon wildlands is pretty long with DLC and you can really spend a fair bit of time on each mission, trying to wipe out an outpost etc in a tactical way without ever being seen. And there's a load of exploring and collectibles to find. I really enjoy that game. So yeah, if the actual game is good enough, I don't mind how long it is. I just happen to like games like fallout 3,4 and new Vegas which are long, but also games like Shing!, 9 monkeys, pinball fx etc which are shorter but really good games.
Quality over quantity is an obvious statement, but quality AND quantity is good too.

Re: Hellblade 2 Sounds Like A True Next-Gen Showcase In First Xbox Previews

Hutchilawd

Once again, the promise of the series X is shown to be a lie. Fantastic graphics and 60fps. No, it's fantastic graphics OR 60 fps. The only games that seem to run at great frame rates naturally seem to be "pixel art" games (of which there are an annoying amount) or cartoony looking games (of which there are an annoying amount).

X box series X is NOT a next gen console. It's very clearly mid gen. By the time the next gen consoles come out, games will have moved ahead again. The argument is actually tedious now. It's a mid gen console. End of.

Tried Diablo 4. Nicknamed it "connection error simulator". Tried Starfield again. Nicknamed it "loading screen simulator".
So back on the much better than Starfield space simulator, No Man's Sky... Not a loading screen or connection error in sight, and the new update just makes it far superior. And pinball fx. Competition with my mates is intense on that one!

Re: Phil Spencer Addresses Xbox Speculation Ahead Of 'Business Update Event'

Hutchilawd

I think going forward, most xbox exclusives will be timed exclusives. 8 - 12 months or so. People will still want the xbox hardware to play those games on release. But xbox making money from PlayStation gamers buying xbox studios games just makes sense. I'm pretty sure xbox won't be agreeing to putting xbox studios games on ps+, so yeah, it's just good business really.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Hoping To See Over The Next Year From Xbox?

Hutchilawd

Being honest, over the last couple of years I've became a big supporter of Phil Spencer. What he's done and continues to do for gamers is incredible. His "for the gamers" attitude has really worked and he's created a great legacy.
So, in the coming year, I have full faith that xbox will deliver. We really are in a fantastic moment, and we're lucky to be part of this gaming revolution. Gamepass is amazing, and continues to give us great games and hidden gems. I'm sure that there will be a lot of ABK stuff dropping in the coming months too. And MS rewards seems to have sorted itself out, so, if we all stick at it, there's alot of good stuff we can cash our reward points in for.

Game on people!

Got back into Pinball fx this week so will be grinding that out over weekend. Trying to improve some of my high scores. Some Civ 6 and No Man's Sky to relax with.
Keeping an eye on sales, waiting on Pinball fx table packs going on sale as they said they would be around Xmas and my MS rewards points have me around £100 in xbox credit. Finally at the "need an expansion card" stage. Res Evil 4 on sale, and a bunch of other great games. Rise of the tomb raider 20 year celebration for a fiver and Mad Max for £3 are must buys at those prices. Highly recommended.

Re: Reaction: Should We Really Be Surprised By 'Declining' Xbox Console Sales?

Hutchilawd

It's simple business. Xbox doesn't have to sell consoles to make money now. Call of duty alone will make them a fortune, no matter what platform it's played on. And if you look at King's profits the last few years, they're quids in in the mobile market now too. And as cloud gaming improves, it's only going to make them more money. As for the magic 10 year deal re call of duty, you'll likely find that it remains on ALL platforms, forever. Why on earth would they stop a cash cow from being milked? I can't see xbox going into administration anytime soon, put it that way lol.

Re: Blizzard On The Possibility Of WoW On Xbox: 'We Are Microsoft Now'

Hutchilawd

I don't understand why porting ANY game to xbox is an issue? Xbox has mouse and keyboard support. Just make having a mouse and keyboard a requirement for a console release. The series X is basically a pretty decent pc amin reality. I think if games like WoW etc are to come to console, people would be happy with needing to have a mouse and keyboard. Especially those who have a pc like mine. It's basically one level up from being coal powered 😂

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 4-5)

Hutchilawd

I bought 'Maize' for £3 or something ridiculous like that. It's a game about corn... Bad corn. It was on my wishlist and going cheap. So I got it. It's pretty funny so far. OK, very funny. I was thinking about getting 'No More Hero' s'too, but everyone seems split on it. Anyone played it?

Happy gaming people!

Re: Reaction: Seriously, Microsoft Doesn't Care About Using Call Of Duty To Sell Xboxes

Hutchilawd

The simple fact is, and always has been, that it doesn't matter. It comes down to basic business sense. COD being on gamepass WILL increase xbox console sales, of course it will. But when those with PlayStation buy it, use microtransactions etc, Microsoft will make money. That's why Microsoft were never in a million years make cod an xbox exclusive. It would be an awful business decision.
I always shake my head a little reading this stuff. The hype about cod on gamepass. I don't even play the game and will continue not to play it when it's on gamepass lol.
A console version of candy crush would be nice to chill with though! If that were to happen, I wonder if they'll find a way to link your mobile games across mobile/xbox? Like I'm STILL waiting on Antstream Arcade doing 😂

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 14-15)

Hutchilawd

Had a few shots and Forza. It's a fantastic looking game and gives a good driving 'feel'. Only had 2 crashes back to home screen but didn't lose any progress. I want to buy eafc but the same errors from the previous 2 games still exist in career mode, "you've not made the greatest start, can you turn things around?" after winning 8 out of 8 games. It really does destroy immersion. It tells me it's not a new game, mainly a 2 year old game getting it's 2nd coat of shiny paint.

Re: Talking Point: Where Does Starfield Rank In Your Top Games Of 2023?

Hutchilawd

I wanted to love this game. Pre release, I thought it'd be right up my street. But, around 25 hours in and I'm thinking, "this is a good game". I wanted to be blown away. I wanted to be having 6,7 or 8 hour sessions in game. But I'm just not.
Games I've enjoyed more and spent more time in this year are (there's a few that even surprised me) :
1. Ghost Recon wildlands
2. Transport Fever 2
3. Forza Horizon 5
4. Call of the wild: The Angler (told ya!)
5. No Man's Sky.

Now, No Man's Sky. If you take Starfield, add atmospheric entry to planets, space to planet atmosphere dog fighting, full planet exploration, surface vehicles, easier to navigate menus.... Then take away better graphics. You have No Man's Sky.

I just think Starfield could've and should've been so much more. Sit in ship, fast travel. Go to space, fast travel, find a pre designated landing spot... Fast travel. The game IS good, it's immersive to an extent. It's just not great. And it should've been.

Re: Watch Out! Some People Are Trying To Ruin Starfield For The Rest Of Us

Hutchilawd

The review bombing thing is just sad little attention seekers. Same with the spoilers. I've mainly steered clear of anything involving Starfield as I want to go into it knowing nothing. As for reviews, I never have and never will pay any attention to any reviews except my own. Ghost Recon Wildlands got loads of bad reviews, but I personally think it's probably the best game I've played in months. It's all about personal preference. Reviews are just someone's personal opinion (or attempt at down rating a game)
