In the press release, it says it's been "designed by pros" but will be "defined by you". Here's a bit of it:
"Built for serious players who demand pro-level accuracy and deep customization. Swap parts, fine-tune responses, and personalize every detail — from ABXY modules to joysticks and D-pads, to shape a controller that truly matches your competitive playstyle."
Some of the key features highlighted here include the following:
- Swappable AXBY module (silicone or micro-switch ABXY modules)
- Two standard joysticks, option for two tall joysticks, one thick-neck joystick, and one dome joystick
- Two premium metal D-pad options (standard or circular)
- TMR joysticks paired with 12-bit ADC sampling chip to deliver enhanced precision and stability
- RGB Fire Rings, providing real-time visual feedback for every move
- Up to 1000Hz polling rate on PC when playing wired and wireless
- Hall effect impulse triggers with two trigger stops
- Remappable fast bumpers
- An integrated wireless charging dock
- Low-latency 2.4G wireless connectivity for Xbox consoles & PC
- 6-axis motion control under 2.4G mode on PC
As mentioned, the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E Controller for Xbox does indeed include wireless connectivity across Xbox consoles and PC, with the Xbox One, Series X and Series S all listed as supporting 2.4G wireless in the tech specs. The package includes a 2.4G adapter, the aforementioned charging dock, a USB cable and an additional accessory pack that features a standard d-pad, micro-switch ABXY module, and then tall, dome and thick-neck joysticks.
We're still waiting on a release date for the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E Controller right now, but 8BitDo says it's targeting Q2 2026, with pre-orders to be announced at some point in the near future. The price will be $149.99 USD.
