@BacklogBrad i’m an xbox is dead, long live microsoft gaming perso .
And I don’t think they actually will make more xbox games. They’ll just make pc games that will also run on the new gaming pc - project Helix. Thus microsoft gaming.
Whether that’s a resurrection, dunno, but the strategy might work!
You destroyed the brand. And now you install a yes-woman next to you - one with absolutely no connection to gaming - just to whatever the next hyped up word is (from Meta to AI).
I won’t mourne Xbox’s departure from exclusivity, to be honest, as long as they keep producing creative games. Games that provide something new for the industry. And Fable does look like one of those games. A light-hearted triple AAA wrpg is something truly unique, and because it releases on multiple platforms they could probably bear the risk. This is a way better approach to reduce risks imo compared to focus on micro transactions or games as a service.
I don’t know, with the steam machine on it’s way, it’ll make the whole play anywhere marketing obsolete.
It is a big plus vs playstation though. Not sure why’d one would stick with that ecosystem anymore. Also since they almost have no exclusive releases anymore.
@Deshalu because, you know, playstation exclusives and koyima games have to be nominated at virtually every category. Because geoff. And then the rest of the room gets filled with the rest of the nominees.
@TheFatPlumber because EA is (was) also an American company which only works for its profit margins and shareholders. Like almost all larger American companies.
1000x resist has been released elsewhere, right? The add says ‘play it day one on xbox’, so do late releases also count towards the 75+ day one additions to gamepass ultimate?
@ElectricWizard you’re intrinsically paying for their drop into gamepass though. Same with ubisoft+ and EA play. Why does the pool of games have to be so large, such that the subscription fee has to be so high?
@Gabrie you’re probably right, let’s indeed wait for the comparisons. But most people dont do that comparison though. Xbox ally will remain very niche i think
@Gabrie moderate specs, but better performance because it has a very good setup. It has a lot better performance than all steam deck versions according to digital foundry.
And yes, the rog ally will require a lot of tinkering and only a handful of people are willing to do that. Most people are casuals. Which is why I’m craving a new Windows OS for handhelds for years…
My feeling says that the management shifted strategies so fast last and this gen that consumers never were able to settle this generation. Consumers usually make an informed decision when it comes to tech. Consumers were never able to.
@Kaloudz you know every (daily changing) law and right of every child and parent in every country of the world? And are able to create apps that help protect kids against the online world and implement solutions for parents and kids to streamline the experience everywhere?
Please step down earlier. That whole management team has been a disaster this gen....
I had so much faith at the start of this gen, defended the actiblizz merger a lot on pushsquare even (wouldn't recommend doing that to anybody, lol) but how this management has turned stuff into the ground in the last few years because of not being able to stand up against Satya Nadella and tell the shareholders to calm the F down, resulting in complete loss of direction, is beyond me.
Well, i've apparently bought my last xbox. I can't take this team green management and their loss of direction and sense anymore. I've also stepped away from Playstation this gen because of their CFO stating that he's addicted to growth.
What a ***** show this gen has been.... poor developers, run by the greediest managements and shareholders there are. A lot is not enough, it needs to be MORE!
Thankfully there's Nintendo (at least for now) who seems properly run, and finally with a system that can play current gen games.
Yes, Microsoft Gaming’s messaging has been a mess. That has lost them this generation too, after Xbox Ones mess, while they could have easily dwarfed Sony following the actiblizz merger.
They chose to not do that because of quick money instead of a long haul and now everythings an xbox, everyones confused and everyones just choosing the option that just works out of the box: switch 2 or playstation. No fuzz, a working gaming system with just clear proper messaging.
If there’s a team that needs updating at Microsoft Gaming, it’s both the management and pr teams.

Re: Xbox Announces New 'Project Helix' Console, Says It Will Play PC Games
@beltmenot of maybe they’ll give it the name xbox 180, for trying an 180 on their brand recognition.
Re: Xbox Announces New 'Project Helix' Console, Says It Will Play PC Games
What will the name be, though?
Please follow the current trend and make it something confusing.

Re: Microsoft CEO Shares His Thoughts On The Major Leadership Changes At Xbox
Just f away, Sadya.
You destroyed the brand. And now you install a yes-woman next to you - one with absolutely no connection to gaming - just to whatever the next hyped up word is (from Meta to AI).
Sad show.
Re: Phil Spencer Announces That He's Retiring From Xbox
Very sad to see him not being part of the 25 years of xbox celebration.
He deserved being part of that…
Re: New Xbox Boss Makes Official Statement As She Takes Over From Phil Spencer
Microsoft is more and more run by creepy AI bots. She has the same scary flare as Satya has.
The same ‘I’m a god in this world - and you’re a means to my goal’ vibe
Re: 'Romeo Is A Dead Man' Receives Wide Range Of Review Scores, Hits Xbox This Wednesday
Wow, it’s very controversial. Truly a piece of art!
Re: Report: Microsoft Is In The Early Stages Of 'Expanding' Xbox Game Pass
@Runex2121 ah, i see. That’s a pity. But is gamepass the only remaining way to properly pay solitaire on xbox?! That’d be so weird
Re: Report: Microsoft Is In The Early Stages Of 'Expanding' Xbox Game Pass
@Runex2121 fyi: solitaire is free through the Microsoft Solitaire Collection app in the Microsoft Store. Could maybe save a little money?
Re: Report: Microsoft Is In The Early Stages Of 'Expanding' Xbox Game Pass
Can’t wait to get 20% discount vouchers for my favorite supermarket with Gamepass.

I’m very much looking forward to autumn now!
Re: Roundup: Here's What Was Revealed At The Xbox Developer Direct 2026 Showcase
Especially Fable looked great! And so did the other games.
What I noticed though: Nothing announced day and date on Switch 2 (yet). That’s a slight pity though.

Re: Black Ops 7 Sales & Players Down Massively On Last Year's Call Of Duty, New Data Shows
A lot of great franchises are being dumped down the drain. CoD being one of them.
Too big to fail though, as one said earlier this year.

Play it day 9000+ with game pass!
Re: Two More Games Announced For Xbox Game Pass In November 2025
@Deformedpye it was on the switch already, though.
Anyway, good to know Microsoft interprets it pretty broadly.

No comparisons to the switch 2? Pity. Curious how it performs to that machine.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Will Now Get 75+ Day One Titles Per Year, A '50% Increase' On Before
Why would anyone want to play 75 games on day one? That’s 1/5 of a year. Nobody has that time to play that many games…

More expensive than the Switch 2?
Yeah, dead on arrival.

@Fiendish-Beaver 😃 true
I’m sure proper higher management would be able to change the approach to a better one indeed, but get the same results

@Wizzle8899 handheld that can easily play ps4 games? How’s that not next gen?
Re: Microsoft Is Seemingly Cutting Back On Its Quality Assurance Efforts With Xbox
@Kaloudz that made perfect sense 😁
And yeah, if you phrase it like that, firing only that person does not make sense.
Unless that person wasn’t liked by the management anyway.
Re: Microsoft Is Seemingly Cutting Back On Its Quality Assurance Efforts With Xbox
@Kaloudz you’re surely confusing me a little with that extra comment 😉
Re: Report: Multiple Industry Veterans To Leave Xbox Studios Amidst Layoffs

Xbox is a mess with managers just wanting to manage stuff to get higher up the ladder it seems. This is an action of one of those managers.

Since it’ll solely be a game pass system this is too expensive for me. Sadly
