I won’t mourne Xbox’s departure from exclusivity, to be honest, as long as they keep producing creative games. Games that provide something new for the industry. And Fable does look like one of those games. A light-hearted triple AAA wrpg is something truly unique, and because it releases on multiple platforms they could probably bear the risk. This is a way better approach to reduce risks imo compared to focus on micro transactions or games as a service.

What I noticed though: Nothing announced day and date on Switch 2 (yet). That’s a slight pity though.

I don’t know, with the steam machine on it’s way, it’ll make the whole play anywhere marketing obsolete.

It is a big plus vs playstation though. Not sure why’d one would stick with that ecosystem anymore. Also since they almost have no exclusive releases anymore.

@ElectricWizard you’re intrinsically paying for their drop into gamepass though. Same with ubisoft+ and EA play. Why does the pool of games have to be so large, such that the subscription fee has to be so high?

Why would anyone want to play 75 games on day one? That’s 1/5 of a year. Nobody has that time to play that many games…

@Gabrie moderate specs, but better performance because it has a very good setup. It has a lot better performance than all steam deck versions according to digital foundry.

And yes, the rog ally will require a lot of tinkering and only a handful of people are willing to do that. Most people are casuals. Which is why I’m craving a new Windows OS for handhelds for years…

My feeling says that the management shifted strategies so fast last and this gen that consumers never were able to settle this generation. Consumers usually make an informed decision when it comes to tech. Consumers were never able to.

I’m pretty sure nobody asks for these kind of weird perks. Just don’t put these in and keep it a pure gaming subscription…

I had so much faith at the start of this gen, defended the actiblizz merger a lot on pushsquare even (wouldn't recommend doing that to anybody, lol) but how this management has turned stuff into the ground in the last few years because of not being able to stand up against Satya Nadella and tell the shareholders to calm the F down, resulting in complete loss of direction, is beyond me.

Well, i've apparently bought my last xbox. I can't take this team green management and their loss of direction and sense anymore. I've also stepped away from Playstation this gen because of their CFO stating that he's addicted to growth.

What a ***** show this gen has been.... poor developers, run by the greediest managements and shareholders there are. A lot is not enough, it needs to be MORE!

Thankfully there's Nintendo (at least for now) who seems properly run, and finally with a system that can play current gen games.

Yes, Microsoft Gaming’s messaging has been a mess. That has lost them this generation too, after Xbox Ones mess, while they could have easily dwarfed Sony following the actiblizz merger.

They chose to not do that because of quick money instead of a long haul and now everythings an xbox, everyones confused and everyones just choosing the option that just works out of the box: switch 2 or playstation. No fuzz, a working gaming system with just clear proper messaging.

If there’s a team that needs updating at Microsoft Gaming, it’s both the management and pr teams.

Xbox is a mess with managers just wanting to manage stuff to get higher up the ladder it seems. This is an action of one of those managers.

Since it’ll solely be a game pass system this is too expensive for me. Sadly
