Yeah, Square is feeling the pain of ps5 exclusiveness at home in Japan, with the switch dominating over there. Apparently their investors are not really happy with how SE is performing lately. They want to release final fantasy vii and xvi on the switch 2 next year, and xbox will profit of that as well.

That’s what my guts are telling me at least.

This game is apparently also very prone / open for modders. It’ll be a game that one can return to every couple of years to experience what the community has done with it in the mean time.

It’s definitely a hit for a subscription service.

I don’t trust all these xbox only delays. Feels to me a bit like these developers are getting a last minute check from Sony for some sort of timed exclusivity deal.

Give me a dedicated handheld and/or all the turn based rpg’s I can get on game pass or a way to play my library on xcloud and it’s a go!

Action games, fighters, fps and platformers are not suitable for xcloud. Action adventures and especially puzzle games and turn based or strategy rpg’s are very well suited for cloud gaming. So we need more or easier access to those types of games. I’d play it on the train, in the park or on the toilet at work.

The feature Xbox should include is gyro.

Once you’re used to it it’s godlike for fps. Can’t play without anymore.

@blaa If Xbox gets FF7R I will not touch my ps4 again and I won’t buy a PS5. All games will eventually come to other platforms anyway. And I’m not liking the way Sony is moving (live service games, a little bit of VR here and there and only one or two other first party releases per year) so it feels I can ignore that platform altogether.

Also, I don’t like Marvel stuff that much so I am not one who buys a PS5 for Spiderman 2 or Wolverine. God of War would have pushed me over the edge but that became a PS4 game.

The xbox app on windows has the same problem. Way too many recommendation-lines. Just like most streaming services have.

But you don’t need that in gaming. Make it clean, Microsoft! Please You’re on the right track.

There is no bad guy in this whole story. Or rather, multiple bad guys who want consumer’s money. And you get that by having a great catalog of games that you can lure those consumers with. I absolutely don’t get the whole ‘microsoft needs to be stopped’ narrative. If anything, I love game developers to have a great budget so they can make the best games possible.

The titles of the articles on pushsquare alone makes that community foaming at their mouths. Writing stuff like ‘wishy washy, ‘talkative Spencer, Xbox insinuates, etc.’ just only serves one purpose.

Sony is just opposing the deal because they just want to make it opponents as difficult as possible.

@UltimateOtaku91 a dedicated handheld would be ideal indeed. I think they hoped a 3d party would step into that glaring omission, like Steam or Logitech.

But not needing to carry anything extra around made me forget I was using touch screen while playing Persona. For that game it’s worth the trade-off in my opinion. Call of Duty would be a completely different ballgame.

@UltimateOtaku91 xbox just needs more strategy or turn-based rpg’s and puzzle games. Those games suit best on xcloud. I really enjoyed playing persona on my phone via cloud because latency absolutely doesn’t matter.

I recon all older snes rpg’s and final fantasy games will perform very well on the service. Shame square enix is such a weird company lately.

@PSme @zoidpilot4 i also follow all three sister sites. There’s also a difference in how the articles on the sites are written, with playstation being more of a fansite than purexbox site, which feels a bit more like a journalism site in my opinion. And the communities following suit.

To put it frankly, without xbox Playstation would be or would go to sh*t. I’m happy we have at least three good eggs in the console space basket.

I hate sony for doing stuff like this, making another version feel a little bit inferior. It’s the same reason they are doing the marketing deals or the three day early access deals. It works, but I don’t like it.

@Snake_V5 this deal is about the merger of the companies. If the deal doesn’t go through in the uk, they can move the offices and workforce to the EU instead. And leave the UK all together.

I’m sure Jim Ryan will say the same after Xbox’s showcase (probably not).

I don’t see many activison-blizzard games being the best way to play via cloud anyway. It’s just another option….
