Re: The Outlast Trials Gets Its First Update Since 2024 Xbox Launch

FatGuyInLilCoat

Bought the game and played for a bit. Fun for a couple hours, but after doing like 10 trials it got repetitive for me. While they have a bunch of skills and upgrades that unlock the more you play, it still didn't encourage me to keep grinding. Also it started taking a long time to find a match and rarely ever a full one even with crossplay.

Checking out some Outlast Trials. It's pretty fun when you play with people (even though I just play with randoms), but I can see it getting very repetitive quickly. Plus I think the player base is already suffering cause even though I have crossplay enabled it can time out for taking to long to find a match/group. But when you do find a full group it has been fun.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Indie Deals Have 'Come Down In Scope', Claim Devs

FatGuyInLilCoat

@Friendly I like a lot of the indies too, but i dont think creating a 3rd tier will fix the problem of MS not shelling out big $$ like they used to for indie studios in order to secure their game on gamepass, which is the issue they are referring to. MS is instead offering them smaller amounts since they are in a much better position (in terms for in house studios and gamepass subs) then they were a few years ago. It's funny though cause even with now 40ish first party studios, we are still going half a year without a single new first party game

Re: With A 'PS5 Pro' Now Rumoured For 2024, Where Does That Leave Xbox?

FatGuyInLilCoat

@Phil-Spencer-Gate Well I guess MS wins by default this year then? Cause I don't think Sony has a single first party release that I know of. But if we are counting 2024 console exclusives, it is subjective who has the better lineup.

I currently only have an Xbox but lately been thinking about getting a PS cause I think those games interest me a bit more. Plus if I own both it's a win win.

Re: With A 'PS5 Pro' Now Rumoured For 2024, Where Does That Leave Xbox?

FatGuyInLilCoat

@Phil-Spencer-Gate I know, I said they are not first party, but they are only playable (console wise) on playststion. They are some of the biggest releases of the year not playable on xbox. And when Sony says multiplatform I belive they are referring to PC. They likely won't put any first party games on xbox. I do have high hopes for avowed and Indiana Jones, but right now the exclusives in the first half they year in PS are very good.

That said i am excited for Xboxs first party lineup going forward, I just feel like with their now like 30+ studios they should be pumping out high quality exclusives like a well oiled machine at this point

Re: With A 'PS5 Pro' Now Rumoured For 2024, Where Does That Leave Xbox?

FatGuyInLilCoat

@Phil-Spencer-Gate "While having a better lineup than Sony". That is subjective. Sony has already released Helldivers 2, Finally Fantasy 7 Rebirth, about to release Rise of the Ronin, followed by Stellar Blade. MS will release hellblade 2 in the first 6 months. I know those aren't first party, but they aren't on xbox so it is part of Sonys lineup and those games are reviewing amazingly so far. I'm not sure how Avowed will be, it looked clunky to me, but I hope it is good. Indiana Jones will likely be the highlight for xbox this year.

Re: Two Major Xbox Games Are Adding Crossplay Support With PS5 & PC

FatGuyInLilCoat

Can you choose who you want to crossplay with? For example you only want to crossplay with other players on PS5 for mortal Kombat matchmaking? I know it doesn't matter too much for these games but down the road if they do cross play with fps games, I'd be okay with crossplaying with ps5 players but not mouse and keyboard players

Re: Xbox Fans Urged To Remain Calm As Emotions Run Wild On Social Media

FatGuyInLilCoat

@Lightning720 I really don't think people are questioning MS's ability to make money. Everyone knows they are a trillion dollar company. People are upset because for the past decade they've been all over the place, reversing decisions, going in different directions, firing studios, and then going almost 2 years without a single first party exclusive only to release Redfall after all that time. Those who patiently stuck through it all and thought "finally, Xbox has a ton of studios now and is gonna start pumping out the exclusives and all that waiting was worth it" only for MS to say they'll release them everywhere. It really isna slap in the face. And yes, I guess it shows you shouldn't have "brand loyalty" and this is the risk you take and obviously they're gonna go where the money is. But that doesn't mean people can't be upset about it.

Re: Phil Spencer Addresses Xbox Speculation Ahead Of 'Business Update Event'

FatGuyInLilCoat

Welp. sounds like it is true. If this had a hint of false he would shut it down via X and say we will clarify more next week.

They need a week to put together a generic but heartfelt basic PR message: "Here at Xbox, we love all gamers and feel that our games should reach as many people as possible, so we've made the creative decision to put X, Y, Z on as many platforms as possible, and all future games will be on a case by case basis"

Translation: "We dont have time to wait 2 - 3 years to release great exclusives and finally win back the market share. So we are waving the white flag."

Re: Starfield, Indiana Jones And Many Other 'Xbox Exclusives' Could Be Heading To PS5

FatGuyInLilCoat

@Kaloudz I kind of agree with losing 'fan trust'. It is blowing up on twitter (X). People aren't happy. So if the game scores well or looks to be a banger it'l be multiplat. But they'll leave the crap (redfall) exclusive to the fans? I'm okay with putting GaaS multiplat (Diablo, Sea of Thieves etc.) but single player games should remain exclusive to their platform. Also, you say it is case by case, but we all know this 'case by case' will just happen to magically make sense for all future games. Especially when the money starts flowing in.

Re: Starfield, Indiana Jones And Many Other 'Xbox Exclusives' Could Be Heading To PS5

FatGuyInLilCoat

@Widey85 Agreed. If this was false I think MS would've been very quick to shut it down knowing that if it spreads people will stop buying Xbox. They've been radio silent about it. They say case by case, but once they see the money and sales they generate from PS and Ninetendo, it will be an all the time. I've been with Xbox since the OG but if this is true I'll likely start investing in the PS ecosystem as i will get to play their exclusives and apparently MS as well.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 3-4)

FatGuyInLilCoat

Still Sea Of Stars. I've almost given up on it a few times now but always pull myself back in cause I really don't like not finishing games after I've invested several hours. It is fun, but these types of games (turn based rpgs) have never really been my style. But I was trying to branch out of my comfort zone. It was a nice palate cleanser from dead space
