@EvenStephen7 There is no reason a game should run better on a PS5 over series x. It should run better on series x.
My theory, series consoles lower user base and probably more so games don’t sell that well on series console, as game pass seems to be the place it be. Additionally the series s factor as well being a less powerful console.
Is all this now having an effect on developers and they can’t be bothered to optimise the games for both series x and s. Time versus money etc.
Microsoft’s strategy with series s and game pass may sound ok on paper, but I bet developers don’t like it, which will push game optimisation for the Xbox consoles lower down the developers priority list.
@Kaloudz There seems to be good stock of all the consoles now. My locals between them seem to have them all. Smyths Toys always have good stock and usually get forgotten in gamer world.
@northofthewall I guess if people are playing it maybe bad to cut it off dead. But then again if only a few are playing it may not be the right business decision to keep supporting.
@Kaloudz I think some of it goes by how many the manufacture says it had distributed to the shops, but then that is doesn’t necessarily mean they are sold to general public. In reality I bet there is a lot of guess work in some cases and it’s all put in a big pot and a number comes out. I know USA have NPD and UK GFK these are suppose to be official numbers but where these numbers come from I don’t know.
@FatalBubbles Sounds like they should kill it off and make good use of the resource elsewhere and create something that is a system and gamepass seller. Will Microsoft ever learn.
Totally not into Halo multiplayer, enjoyed the campaign. Is the multiplayer making any strides in the number of players online and steam and those metrics? Or should they stop flogging what is really a dead horse and push valuable resources onto something else, I.e manage the studio realistically to give gamers and general public what they want, so they actually sell more consoles and gamepass.
@Kaloudz What I don’t get with sales in the UK is this. When you look at charts they have PS5 ahead by a lot sometimes each month. Fact.
If you go in shop sites the main ones in the UK you can see how many buying PS5 or series consoles leave a review. Fact. Now let’s assume we use the amount of reviews as sales and both percentage on gamers PS5 or Series who buy a console leave a review. Data captured today at 3 very well know different shops UK. If you go by this sales are only very very tiny slightly ahead for PS5.
So are all these sales chart just rubbish and my review by consoles idea is better to go buy, as it is real people buying the console and leaving the review.
@AlwaysPlaying Oh dear not again my spelling not great. However please remember we do spell some words differently if you take the USA to UK spellings. Colour = UK Color = USA
You will never get the true superb visual splendid of maybe 8k 120fps all bells and whistles to the max public without a box even in ten years time.
Also if the competition have a box, which they will so does Xbox need to.
They maybe trying to create a future now with gamepass but it has not set the gaming world a light. Just look at January 2023 console sales. PS5 400k Switch 300k Xbox 100k
If the general public really wanted Gamepass in their front room on their tv as their main or family gaming console or in a child’s or teenagers bedroom then they would have sold millions more consoles. Xbox future maybe bold but it’s definitely not for now and probably not for ten years time.
See you all in ten years time to say I was correct as I was last year with Xbox game release dates and their console sales degreasing this year. 2023 to date 150k less series consoles sold than this time last year 2022.
One thing with Xbox mid last year 2022 and now in 2023 their game releases, game and console sales are so easy to predict and also against the competition.
@Kaloudz Fingers crossed for Xbox as I’ve been with them since day one and through 360 glory days. I tend not to take to much notice of them now as I don’t think Microsoft or the upper team have their true heart and working souls in it. But time will tell and I really hope you are correct.
@Kaloudz Time will tell, but you are far more optimistic than me and that’s good and I hope you are right. But they need to start advertising getting out to the general public etc and get some momentum and be trendy again. And straight away the first month of the year they are minus 150 thousand console sales compared to last year 2022.
My point is I think they have lost that public appeal and it’s too late and I would bet they will sell less consoles this year 2023 worldwide than last year 2022. They have now given themselves an even bigger hill to climb than when their new generation started and Microsoft are solely to blame.
@Sifi We shall see and time will tell. I’m also not to bothered about the PS5 sales, it’s just Microsoft with Xbox are not doing things right and sales of consoles are really suffering.
@BrilliantBill Well for Xbox sake let’s hope it is. This year will not be great for Xbox console sales wise, mainly due to last year 2022. And also probably Starfield if amazing releasing November 2023 in my opinion. And that the other two are always pushing it hard with many fingers in the gaming or movie pie and advertising a lot etc. meaning they are expanding general public awareness in different ways, which brings in consoles and game sales.
@Stoned_Patrol You are missing my point this year 2023 they have already sold 150k LESS consoles than same time last year 2022. So that’s not a good start to 2023.
Everyone knows I’m a big FH5 fan, the only real in house AAA on the console. But this expansion seems a bit of a mish mash of existing world track and experiences, was expecting better, being honest.
@NEStalgia Trust me I hope it is a clever strategy and they are going to exploded on to the market like never before, maybe straight after ABK. If not and they continue to sort of limp along, then I have absolutely no idea what they are doing. And have to assume it’s how they are and have no idea or just happy playing with their very own pocket money product Xbox having fun times with their closet product.
@NEStalgia I know and that’s why I moan about Microsoft because I actually care about Xbox and they don’t seem to be doing the most simple of things that every company wanting to sell something does. Managing stock territory correctly. It’s like they either don’t care or they just dam dum arses. I always strive to do my best and be the best at work, that’s why I just don’t Microsoft with Xbox, it’s like they are amateurs.
I would pay money to have an open question time with Phil Spencer for one hour.
@Green-Bandit We both love an amazing gears games for sure. I have been giving Xbox a bit of bashing on another thread on here. But it’s for their own good as they deserve it 😂😂😂
@NEStalgia Not sure about stock in the USA month Jan 2023 series consoles were terrible really and third again. UK wasn’t great as well, third but we have absolutely loads of series console stock here and I mean loads. Again if USA have no stock then Microsoft have themselves to blame for pushing to much to UK and EUROPE and getting low sales and not pushing to to USA where you have no stock. They have been doing this since late last year, are they just thick or something. Again to me at the minute Microsoft are definitely not on the ball with series console sales and stock location requirements. Which is dreadful for a company of that size.
@UltimateOtaku91 Absolutely that’s what Sony do and Nintendo do when they wish. Yes, I do not get Xbox at the moment, maybe they are deliberately quiet because of the ABK purchase I’m not sure. But they definitely don’t seem like a company that want to make the general public aware of their product, hence one of the reasons for lagging behind in third with slow console sales.
It’s their business and up to them, but I don’t get them at all at the minute. It’s like they are laying down and letting the competition walk all over them, with public awareness advertising etc.
Well Xbox need something good, just looked at Jan 2023 console sales. USA, slowly losing grip there EUROPE, Almost lost grip there Japan, don’t bother with any grip.
Definitely need a good start for 2023 as it starting very slowly for them.
@Sakko Correct in the 360 era in the UK Xbox was strong and bold for a long time. It’s was the only time really in Xbox history I’ve seen people scramble to buy an Xbox and people talk and brag about having an Xbox with enthusiasm. Those were the UK Xbox glory days I lived for back then.

How confident Nintendo are with their business model and moving forward, happily smiling away.
And how unconfident Sony are in their own business model.

Is COD really that a big deal to make Sony act this way, with a 10 year agreement for them to sign.
Surely even now and then after 10 years is up, Sony have enough exclusives and very good developers to be absolutely fine and ok?
