@Fenbops Totally agree, this also is taking time away from better Series X optimisation. Haven’t noticed the new trend. PS5 games better optimised than the more powerful Series X from developers with multi platform games. Also the fact that the game itself selfs many many many more copies in PS5 so why bother optimising for Series s or x.
I am slowly beginning to believe I’m afraid, Microsoft for this current time have lead Xbox down the wrong path.
@S1ayeR74 Developers can’t be bothered with series x optimisation that much now and why. Because Sonys consoles get 80% of the sales with a new released game like Hogwarts. So investing money in optimising the other 20% is not much of priority.
@PeteyPiranha Agree with you there one set of specifications will always help no matter what the difference. See my post above yours, developers can’t even be bothered at the moment to get the best out the series x now, making it second choice over the PS5 for multiplatform games, slowly but surely.
I think we need to be more concerned that a couple of recent releases are not performing as well as they should on Series X and PS5 has a slight performance advantage. Apart from someone saying the possibility of the split memory pool of the Series X maybe the issue, are developers not bothering so much nowadays due to games sales on Series X are very low compared to PS5.
Series X should be the multiplatform choice for a game, being more powerful and it sort of started that way, but seems not to be getting the developer love now.
So there you have it, another slight downer for our good ole Series X.
Hi everyone about displays and in UK shops and console space etc. Yes since the release 2 years ago console space for Xbox in shops is getting smaller and smaller compared to PlayStation and Nintendo. Apart from the obvious who sells the most consoles making the shop the most money. Why do they want to sell a console that encourages a subscription service. Just look at new games sales, are 80% Playstation against 20% Xbox, that is not good for the shop at all.
Microsoft long with no advertising or general public awareness and less shop space have almost made themselves anti consumer on the purchasing front.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Absolutely slowing down console sales wise in the UK, though they did pick up in February after a very bad January. Let’s see what March brings. But yes the topic of advertising and momentum and public awareness, definitely doesn’t exist currently in Microsoft’s Xbox portfolio.
@Moonglow Unfortunately I feel the same. I’m in the UK and Xbox advertising compared to the other two is nonexistent. I can never work Xbox out and definitely where they are going or think they are going.
@Stocksy Totally agree on Game of Xbox series generation the only real AAA that has come from Xbox studios. Which is fantastic bit also sad over two years in.
Massive FH fan since day one so here I go and I’m going out on a limb.
Bring in robberies like a getaway driver And cop chases. A massive risk reward system To buy cars depending on the robbery you did. Street car gangs and turf gangs along with turf wars. Claiming back territory to make money and undertake more robberies. Also you have to steal your fuel and car add on items and even cars themselves. Become the gangster car king.
Also include a massive city as well like London or New York real to life, of course out of city as well.
@abe_hikura Because Xbox game development is in wibbly wobbly land like always. We were supposed to FM and Starfield before end of June 2023 after the 2022 delays.
Microsoft need to get this deal done and finished. Not just to get ABK, but to get themselves firing on all four cylinders, get some Xbox marketing and advertising going and reveal more big AAA up and coming exclusive games. Get more general public excitement and momentum going. Of course we have almost release dates for Redfall, FM and Starfield but we know those from years ago. They need to push hard and reveal more and advertise etc to push more consoles and game pass and take market share. They definitely have the money to go campaign mad if they wish.
@BrilliantBill You can still have new IP that sell well and make money and sell systems and also set up great system sellers for follow up game. Look at HFW, last of us, Uncharted, GOW reimagined and spider man to a degree. Xbox just need to create that game. But just as important get some momentum and advertising behind them and become the games to have and console or game pass to own. That is their issue they have very little public awareness and the competition have years of public awareness due to various reasons created over years.
I mean they could have started that trend with Halo Infinite and produced a BOTW a GOW both established IP that got reimagined and big advertising budgets etc for public awareness. Instead we know what happened.
@Green-Bandit I know I’m being me, but if I was spending all that time and money developing a game as a business I would want it to be a system / game pass seller. A general public must have game. I think that is the way I would approach every big AAA game. It must make money and bring in lots of new console sales and game pass subscriptions. What’s the point of trying create a gaming empire like Microsoft are trying to do if you don’t get the sales and the money in and increase your percentage stake in the gaming market over you competitors.
@Green-Bandit Yes it seems to be heading towards being a graphical showcase, but it as to have the gameplay for me whatever that turns out to be. Not sure if it will be a console or game pass seller though. Has always felt so far like a niche game to me and if so I’m very surprised as I thought Xbox might try and make it a general public AAA game some how.
So enjoying how Nintendo are just sitting back chilling with the Switch and BOTW2 and Mario Movie, being all self independent etc. And also get some sort of ten year deal out of it just for a laugh 😆
Great little game, shame it didn’t get a few more players or sales etc. now a days you really need to release something amazing or known, like Hogwarts with big advertising etc to get big player counts and sales.
Could have least shown some footage of Senua just walking through a couple of landscapes in series x, showing full character control of in game footage in landscape.
@Green-Bandit They are definitely one of Xbox top studios without a doubt. Yes Hivebusters is still a bit of a showcase even nowadays. Just hope the coalition deliver big style with gears 6, I’m sure they will.

@Fenbops Took me 3 attempts to get into BOTW when it released over a year period. Once I did though and got the dlc that helps with certain items when you find them, I thought it was amazing and didn’t stop until I found every shrine and completed the game and dlc. It just to took something in me to click that I wasn’t looking for, but then it just did.
Fire emblem not my thing so never tried it. Switch wise, playing splatoon 3 at the moment.
@Fenbops I will give it ago not downloaded yet. What’s your thoughts on this:

@Fenbops I don’t like motion sickness, that’s why no VR for me. Wonder why the game causing motion sickness. Actually some games have done that to me and I found Switching from say 30 to 60 fps seemed to cure it.
@somnambulance We shall see what happens, remember 2017 BOTW and Odyssey and that was just the Switch alone. Let’s hope we start seeing a very high quality of games soon this year. Will be interesting to see what Wo Long gets next week.
@BAMozzy I know a good few that just have PlayStation for COD and FIFA so it is very much linked to PlayStation. The funny thing about that I’m sure in the 360 Xbox had the COD and Fifa deals and dropped them and let Sony have them. That’s was a mistake to this day. Hence some of the ABK deal COD. I think Xbox have this future plan and are starting to undertake that now. But in general public world they are making themselves not known and slightly irrelevant. Sony and Nintendo always advertising or making a movie etc to create brand awareness, or theme parks 😂. If they want Gamepass to become the thing they need to up their game for sure else it will become a small subscription service for gamers and stay at that level. Whatever we think of Sony or Nintendo they know how to get the general public going and buy their product over the general public buying game pass. At the end of the day Sony and Nintendo sell things one way, Xbox are doing it another, but Microsoft won’t be happy if sits around the current subscription level moving forward surely.
@BAMozzy Anyway what do you think of the UK trying to block the ABK deal. Considering the UK has good manufacturing relations with the USA, Military, Ford, Heinz, Kellogg’s all have factories here and employee thousands and all are USA companies.
@BAMozzy So they totally become dependent on making money through subscriptions only and of course some controllers. Does gamepass make enough money to support the entire and whole Xbox business and all studios, from pay to builds and bills and other developers games like Atomic Heart etc. Don’t forget the service itself needs paying for, for support etc across many platforms. Development time is more costly and longer as many platforms.
I would love to know the balance sheet from current subscriptions, don’t forget some gamers are on cheap discounted subscriptions, like me until March 2025. Would be interesting to see if they actually make any true money.
Of subject is it me or are Game reviews getting really critical of late. I only follow a few which I have done for years but lately wow, has the game got to be so perfect. At this rate and to stay totally neutral BOTW 2 Redfall Spider-Man 2 Are in for a tough time at some point this year.
@BAMozzy We shall see what happens and what Microsoft do. But it has been said that Microsoft are probably the only ones that can do this as they can bank roll the process. That tells me that profits are not there yet and it’s not a simple money making scheme else Sony and Nintendo what be doing the same.
@BAMozzy Well GP is at around 25 million I think they still have to make it economically viable. All I’m saying is the more consoles they sell the more chance they have of more game pass members and that’s a fact. Yes they get GP members other ways in the ecosystem of course they do.
I think their aim is to own as many studios and developers as possible and just bring software out and not have a console at all. But we shall see.
As for playing a game statistics. Look at atomic heart. They count who has downloaded it and tried it, many have. But also in here many have and played for an hour and not played anymore, is that really a good measurement of a game being played and successful.
Microsoft are attempting to try and change the way we purchase games that is all by using a paid service instead of buying game’s individually. So far I see nothing really that is showing a success of that, but of course time will tell.
@gogolpoe We definitely don’t want anyone to lose, not to the degree of leaving the market. Competition is the only thing making these three main gaming companies try harder.
See I’m not a Sony fanboy, I’m a pissed original Xbox fanboy from the old days who has owned every single Xbox console day one , watching Microsoft not really trying and not managing their studios and messing what for me was one of their greatest franchises Halo. Halo Infinite should have been a AAA reimagining of Halo like GOWR and BOTW instead we got a trillion dollar company, miles away in dreamy land with the higher ups creaming the money in and doing nothing for it.
@BrilliantBill I don’t hate infinite I enjoyed the gunplay and grapple hook it was perfect fps. The campaign was ok, but for a top AAA and remember it’s Halo we talking about here. It was overall shameful really. Microsoft did zero micro management of that studio and the game, so I’m pissed with them for that and what should have a AAAA above all others was not, shame on Microsoft. That’s come from passion from me being with the franchise and every Halo game since day one. They let me down in a big way. It should have been the reimagine of a master class, like GOWR and BOTW.
@BAMozzy Well let’s wait and see what happens Will be interesting if the ABK deal doesn’t go through. That doesn’t mean I’m against it by the way. Perhaps I’m just too old fashioned and probably am. But if you sold say 100 million series consoles and with game pass at 25 million on all devices. Then another 100 million from the Xbox console members would definitely make Microsoft smile and Phil and gang would telling the world about it.
@BrilliantBill I was there with the original Halo and admiring as we did in those days. I meant kill the multiplayer in Halo Infinite. We know they have shifted to unreal 5 for the next one and I guess that will include multiplayer as well. Didn’t mean kill Halo 😂😂😂
@BAMozzy I get what you are saying but a console sale can lead to a game pass sale which creates more revenue. Also extra controllers and paid games and dlc.
Remember they need to sustain this business model they have created moving forward. Yes we both now they could make zero money profit or minus and the Microsoft division could bail them out every year.

Re: Talking Point: Could You Ever See Microsoft Selling The Xbox Brand?
I definitely think 2023 will not be the year of Xbox
They already double delayed FM and Starfield to past the promise end of June 2023 plan.
Console sales wise they will lose more of the market to Sony and Nintendo this year worldwide.
They already got bashed to hell in January 2023.
So if Xbox are happy with how many game pass subscriptions they have and it makes it worth their while then guess they will hang around.
But can see them leaving the console hardware market for sure one day and go software only, it actually suits them as well better I think.
Re: Talking Point: Could You Ever See Microsoft Selling The Xbox Brand?
Consoles yes and become software only as Xbox and game pass. For as many devices as possible.

Well let’s wait and see what happens
Will be interesting if the ABK deal doesn’t go through.
Re: Halo Infinite's 'Biggest Multiplayer Update' Yet Shown Off In Season 3 Launch Trailer
@BrilliantBill
I was there with the original Halo and admiring as we did in those days.
I meant kill the multiplayer in Halo Infinite.
We know they have shifted to unreal 5 for the next one and I guess that will include multiplayer as well.
Didn’t mean kill Halo 😂😂😂

@BAMozzy
I get what you are saying but a console sale can lead to a game pass sale which creates more revenue. Also extra controllers and paid games and dlc.
Remember they need to sustain this business model they have created moving forward.
Yes we both now they could make zero money profit or minus and the Microsoft division could bail them out every year.

Also sometimes they cheaper for all consoles, controllers and games as well.
When I got my switch OLED it was £10 less than Argos.

They have a dedication section, and are very good with PS5 stock and you can check online to see store stock around the country.
