Re: It's Official, Xbox's Avowed Has Been Delayed Until 2025

My series X was my first X Box. I actually bought one to play Alan Wake and Tunic.
A year later, the Wake remake came out. A few after that, Tunic went multi platform.

The first few years were great. Played all the Halo games. Played loads of brilliant indie games. Death's Door being my favourite.
However, I haven't played it since Persona 3 Remake.

It's been gathering dust. I loved it for a few years. I back to playing my Switch and PS5.

I've always felt that PS5 and Nintendo have better first part games. It felt like maybe Starfield and the purchase of Arkane might change their fortunes. Starfield didn't even slightly meet expectations. Redfall was an unmitigated disaster.

To me, it feels like Microsoft are, not necessarily giving up, but accepting they are dead last the this console war. A few years back, it felt like they were going to fight to be the best. Third party games are regularly doing better than their first party.

That said, I'm not an X-Box lifer - my opinion is likely wrong. Never the less, it's how I feel.
Fingers crossed Microsoft can bounce back. Currently, this Avowed delay feels like another nail in the coffin.

I do find myself wondering if they should become a developer. With some of their in-house games going multipplatform, it almost feels like the first step in that process

I wonder what people on here all think? I'm not sure that Fable and Indiana Jones will change their fortunes.
Hope you are well and having a brilliant weekend.
Apologies if this too negative!

23 hours lost.
And you're going to give this game a 10 despite a history of scoring other games down for similar issues.

This won't be a popular comment.
When I throw a dice and don't get the desired result, I feel compelled to reload. I was never into D&D. What's the protocol here? Am I playing it wrong? I feel like I spend more time reloading than basically anything else.

I love Tactics Ogre, Triangle Strategy, FF Tactics, Fire Emblem etc

There is something about the rhythm of battle in this that just isn't fun. It's almost like there is too much choice. It's quite daunting. That's on me though.

The character work and voice acting is really good. Battle wise, it just feels like a chore to play. I was very wary about all the perfect reviews. Wish I'd trusted my gut.

Oh well, the Phase Spider Matriarch was a little fun. Got the achievement for kiling her eggs! Perhaps I'd feel different without this save issue. Hope everyone is enjoying t!

What utterly joyless people trashing this. Such a miserable lot.

Seems any sense of objectivity is right out the window.

3 would imply the game is broken and near unplayable. There is, I suppose at this stage, no evidence to support this. Seems like people using their platform to trash Roiland. Fair enough if you don't like him but we're looking for an objective review of the gameplay. Not a disingenuous hit piece.

Fun at party's and all that.

Finished Silent Hill 2 HD. Needed a refresher in advance of the remake. Also finished Signalis. What a wonderful experience. Not so much in presentation but gameplay wise, a fantastic homage to psone era Resi and Silent Hill.
I'm on the last chapter of Ghost Song. One of the better post Hollow Knight metroidvanias.
Nailed it's atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough.
