I don’t care about their AAAA disasters. But there are so many smaller games that would be easy to port, and they just didn’t. Saga Frontier remasters, Romancing Saga 2… I’d have gotten them day 1 if they were on the box.

@Kaloudz Golly, I wouldn't even know. A generation is a long time! I mostly like retro stuff, and I'm usually way behind the curve. Nothing springs to mind that would top this one, though. It's also hard because even many new games are still previous-gen. Baldur's Gate 3 is definitely this generation. There are also so many games I haven't played.

It might be this one, though. It makes a strong case for itself, and as much as I've liked a lot of other things, none of them jump up and seem to top it (except quite possibly Baldur's Gate 3, but that's also an entirely different sort of game and an entirely different sort of RPG).

@Kaloudz I saw that. The nerfs won't affect me much. I was hoping for some other changes, which they haven't made!

Don't forget about the Jennifer English Memorial Story Mode. I shamelessly use it for some of the optional bosses if I can't beat them in a few tries.

The thing I really want from story mode is the wider window for dodges and parries, but unfortunately the only way to get that, is to be in story mode (which also makes enemies hit like they are using nerf bats).

I'm not sure about game of the generation yet, but I seriously doubt anything else will come out this year that I like better.

Wayforward has sigma star saga, another updated gba title, coming soon too, and it’s awesome, a shooter rpg with overhead action/rpg segments.

Sounds good. Not really my thing at all, but maybe I’ll give it a try someday. I haven’t played the other new ones yet either.

@Kaloudz maelle is just a beast! I didn’t beat the chief tho, to clarify, just the mandatory arena battles. If you beat the last one with maelle you get the weapon in question “early”. This game is hard tho, and I suck at dodge/parry.

(Except for many battles that I cheese since maelle is OP)

Did you do all the side quests and find all the totem pieces? I’m not sure how anyone would do that under 60 hours. I liked the side quests.

@RegnumSolipsi avowed was short? It took me like 80 hours.

Clockwork revolution and outer worlds 2 are really the only things left I care about that will be out anytime soon

@Kaloudz I got it because I used maelle in the arena battles. Apparently. Wonder what I’d get for beating the chief then? Won’t know til the end of the game if ever!

I think they should let you change the parry/dodge windows from the accessibility menu rather than tying it to difficulty (except for expert). I don’t want to play on story mode just for wider windows.

They should also have an option for performance mode to automatically turn on just for combat to help with the timings.

And they should have a delay turn option in combat, not just skip turn.

Don’t suppose they’ll do any of that tho!

I bought my series X in 2022 to be a game pass machine. Microsoft rewards was the unexpected icing which lets me buy and play non-GP games too, plus a disc drive to use Best Buy credit. I haven’t paid for many games since.

It’s totally different than a PC, and much cheaper. I’d still like a cheap pc to run indie stuff that isn’t on Xbox, but I don’t have time.

Hope they take all the time they need. It should be there with Owlcat’s stuff, if not even Larian. Microsoft having all these rpg devs under one roof, they should be pumping out excellent hardcore rpgs.

Chants of sennarr is really cool, but I’m too dumb to finish it.

It’s kind of a crazy business decision since it puts them pricier than ps5 when they’re already struggling to sell hardware. I’m just happy I got mine when I did. I don’t know how I’d feel about it otherwise.

Always meant to play against the Storm on pc, but my pc is outdated and I don’t really like playing games on it. That’s what my Xbox is for. Glad it’s finally making the jump to console

Crap. Four on there I want to play and two more I at least want to try. I hate it when it goes like this. I’m always behind.

It’s hard to find time. But I was surprised to see I’m 11 hours in. Feels like I just started!

@PsBoxSwitchOwner of course. But what kind of strategy is it to raise prices on consoles that are already struggling to sell? They’re more expensive than Sonys consoles now. They’re pushing many customers to just get a rival console instead.

People will do all kinds of mental gymnastics to avoid the reality that the global financial situation is the reason for this. Microsoft would be out of their minds, in a struggling hardware market, to raise prices out of greed. This is going to hurt them.

@Lup You should just muscle through my man. Everyone else is probably a bit lost in the dungeons as well. I definitely am. It's part of the design to not know exactly where you're going.

@FarmDog08 Did you do all the side quests and collect all the totems and find all the paintings?? The side quests were worth it, I think. The totems and paintings, maybe not... but I kinda wish I would have just done the last few since I had done them up to that point. But I need to get over that completionism mindset so games don't take me two months to play!

@Titntin yeah I skipped a little bit of collecting near the end, and apparently missed a side quest. And i definitely didn’t read all the lore.

@johnK nope! Maybe 20 minutes tho! I didn’t actually have to fight the final boss. It was a little anticlimactic 😆
