In a new update on their personal YouTube channel, long-time game developer and Fallout creator Tim Cain has announced that they've returned to Obsidian Entertainment; the Xbox studio responsible for Avowed, Fallout New Vegas, The Outer Worlds series and more.
Naturally, this rekindling may lead to folks putting two and two together in assuming a New Vegas sequel might now be in the works - but Cain has all-but shot that down already; saying that fans are "not going to guess" what they're working on.
"I can’t talk about the project that I’m working on at Obsidian, just because that’s covered by NDA. Don’t bother guessing, you’re not going to guess right. I would probably say that I’m a lot less retired now."
As you can see up at the top, we've shared Cain's full update via the video above, which goes into some personal details alongside this move back to Xbox developer Obsidian. We wish them all the best in their return, and we're excited to see what the studio comes up with next!
Of course, the team has shipped three big games this year in Avowed, Grounded 2 and The Outer Worlds 2, so it stands to reason that it may be a little while until we hear about their next project. We have heard that an Avowed sequel may be coming - but that's just rumour for now and hasn't been confirmed by Microsoft.
