Is adventures of Eliot an action game? Not super excited about that if so. And Octopath 0 is not being developed by team asano, so… kinda skeptical of both of these. Hopefully they’re great tho.
I’m surprised the reviews were even that high. The writing was on the wall from the beginning that it was gonna be kind of a cozy disaster embarrassment. Too bad because it’s a decent concept
I played starfield once and had a really fun 140/150 hours or so. But it wasn’t something I wanted to play again. I don’t get how people can just play the same game forever.
@PushButtons Did you even read what I wrote? Like I said, some make money; some do not. We can all think of several high profile failures along with high profile money-makers. Same goes for expansions.
@PushButtons Well that's a bit of a generalization. Some do; some don't. I could just as easily say "live service games don't make money; that's been proven," but we both know some make a ton of money, and some fail dismally.
Activision has a huge back catalog, as evidenced by the first wave. It includes all the old Sierra and infocom adventure classics. Some really need a keyboard to be properly enjoyed, however. Others work ok with a controller and no mouse.
Some choices were odd tho, like opting for the incredibly slow sega cd version of Willy beamish (I guess because it has voice acting… but long load times and worse graphics)
I hope that doesn’t mean it’s a licensed soundtrack tho? I guess it fits with the title but I hate that. Just leads to stuff getting delisted. Meanwhile there are talented bands that would love to write some songs to sell to a game soundtrack.
They need to do more with the classic Sierra and infocom games. It was nice to see them get some of them out in that retro collection. But they’re just streamed games, which is kind of sad.
I’d like to see some RPGs. Breath of Fire comes to mind, but I’d take something new. Would be cool to see mega man, or some other type of retro revival with pixel art too.
Haven’t had a puzzle fighters game for ages either.
It would have done better if they’d put it on game pass. It’s launching way too late, and it’s mostly competing for the casual and god of war crowd at this point. And Xbox kind of has that base covered.
It’s not much of an RPG, so that group probably doesn’t care, or already played it. “Action adventure” is a full category. I personally have little interest.
@themightyant I’m at the final dungeon now and haven’t done any endgame content! What should I do first and what should I save? I haven’t even done that frozen whatever place yet. Or the relationship quests. I was going to do it all before finishing the game!
Jeez story mode was already too easy. They should have just made parry/dodge windows a separate option. I wanted easier parries for normal mode without all the damage reduction of story. Now it’s even worse.
Should have added a separate option for dodging and parrying, or just made an even easier difficulty level.
@Ilyn would love to see a temple of elemental evil remaster.
Neverwinter nights 1 does have the pre rendered backgrounds, and polygonal characters. 2 went to full real time 3D for everything. It was pretty at time of release, but it’s been a long time since then! Some of the campaigns are pretty great and some are meh. I don’t remember which is which…
Something for everybody kinda/sorta. No turn-based RPGs, though, or turn-based games in general, is a bit disappointing. (Besides Persona 4, of course, which, yeah--will play)
The Grand Hotel one probably sounds the most interesting, but I'm curious about Double Fine and Don't Nod's games as well.
@FraserG Pocket Card Jockey is great. They've had a few good, interesting games.
These days, they can't even seem to get Pokemon right (although I loved Arceus), but I guess we'll see! I too am a little nervous about the "technical" action combat. Not trying to play sekiro over here.
I guess Game Freak isn't a Nintendo 1st party or 2nd party studio?

That’s a lot of stuff I still want to play! Yikes.
Re: These 30+ Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (August 11-15)
I’d like to play viewfinder. A shame that one isn’t game pass, after waiting all this time for it.
Re: 8BitDo Unveils Its First Xbox Wireless Controller To Celebrate Rare's 40th Anniversary
Jeez. Can they do one that isn’t themed and isn’t $90 please? This is nuts. I’ve been using a wired controller for a year now.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3's Latest Update Targets Various Xbox-Specific Issues
There are still audio delay bugs after all this time too. Wonder if those got fixed.

Re: Bethesda Has 'Exciting Things Planned' For Starfield As Beta Update Goes Live
Hard to be excited about something so vague.

Re: Rockstar's First Red Dead Online Update In Years Channels 'Undead Nightmare' Energy
@PushButtons Just because it makes money doesn't mean it's not hot garbage.
Expansions for GTA5 and Red Dead 2 would also have made money, but that's not the path their shareholders went with.
Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (July 2-15)
@Kaloudz I’ve wondered about this too
Re: These Seven Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (July 2-15)
High on life is coming back? 😂 weird
The ascent used to be on there too. This is mostly old games considering those and the ones moving to standard.
Which is fine
Re: Six Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Early July 2025
Golden idol is amazing. Play it.
I need to play magical delicacy and tchia. It seems like they just got here!

They don’t bother with anything unless it’s live service garbage anymore.
Re: Xbox Game Pass: All Games Coming Soon In July 2025
Might be a dull month for me. But that’s ok. I’m behind.
That said, wheel world might be awesome.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Xbox Game Pass?
Overrated third-party series that Sony pretended was first-party and kids drank the kool aid
Re: Roundup: All The Xbox Reveals From The June 2025 Capcom Showcase
No breath of fire, mega man, or Sakura
Re: Volcano Princess Arrives On Xbox Game Pass To 'Overwhelmingly Positive' Reviews
Looking forward to this one
Re: Five New Games Added To Retro Classics On Xbox Game Pass
Heart of China is the only one I’m familiar with. Glad to see them doing something with the old sierra catalog.

Re: Rooftops And Alleys: The Parkour Game Is Off To A Flying Start On Xbox Series X|S
There’s some parkour girl game that just came out too. I don’t think it’s this one! 😂
Re: Report: Xbox Working On Massive Backwards Compatibility Overhaul Called 'Xbox Classics'
I’m just glad it’s not just another streaming thing at least. Whatever it is or isn’t…

Volcano Princess looks neat
And happy to see against the storm on console finally
Re: Six Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Late June 2025
Arcade paradise is really neat. I always meant to play it again on game pass, but I guess I won’t!
Re: Roundup: Here's What The Reviews Are Saying About The Gex Trilogy
Sounds like a great packaging of games that were never great and still aren’t
Re: Talking Point: Would You Like To See A New Type Of Forza Game In 2026?
The sky is the limit.
How about a pixel art management sim of some type?
I’m thinking management, not a builder. But the builder route and track building could be done too.
Re: Four Games Are Confirmed For Xbox Game Pass In July 2025 So Far

Re: Opinion: I've Never Liked JRPGs, But Xbox's New FF16 Demo Has Me Hooked
FF16 is about as much an RPG at this point as Christmas is a summer holiday (except in Australia)
Re: Still Wakes The Deep Brings Its First Expansion To Xbox Next Week
Guess it’s probably not leaving game pass if they’re releasing dlc
Re: Roundup: All The Xbox Reveals From June 2025's Konami Showcase

Yikes the 5/10 about stressful time management is alarming 😆
I’ve had good feelings about this game tho. Probably another game pass banger.

I’d be more excited for neverwinter nights 2 if obsidian had anything to do with the remaster.
