I'd be happy with just Final Fantasy 14. But with Octopath Traveler 2 also coming in Spring it is a good start. Like others I hope the new Star Ocean Second Story R & Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters plus other 2022 titles we missed come to Xbox. But the big rumour being Dragon Quest 10 offline coming to the west 🙂. If it is true & it comes to Xbox hopefully it gets released with the Switch & PS4/5 editions. Then we can expect a bright future. But it all takes time so I guess we have to be patient. With Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth only being 3 months exclusive to PS5 & a Switch 2 port reported maybe FF7 is coming? If not maybe Ff16 after it's PC release.
Now that Microsoft owns Activision Blizzard it be nice to see Games Pass get Lionheads Studios The Movies. But I'd love to see Black & White get a HD remaster/remake.
Why is Pure Xbox not reporting that the Final Fantasy 14 Xbox Beta has been announced for mid January - February 2024 at today's Final Fantasy 14 Festival 2023 in London
@Kaloudz think the only difference I can see happening at Blizz con this year could be Phil Spencer on stage during the event but bar that I'm sure all plans have been finalised before the deal was approved last week.
@Kaloudz if the rumour is true about Blizzards survival game coming next year then we could get a reveal at Blizz con in November or E3 next year. As for Infinity Wards openworld RPG? Maybe a teaser trailer at E3.
@Kaloudz definitely. Look how Bethesda is starting to bear fruit with Hi Fi Rush, Ghostwire Tokyo, Quake 2, Starfield & Redfall. Then you have this year's COD & the vast amount of cash King generates being reinvested into Xbox 🙂 exciting times.
@themightyant I agree 🙂 Even though I stopped playing COD. You can't deny it's success came down to how good the teams at Infinity Ward, Raven plus it's support studios are. so Infinity Ward making an open world RPG is definitely interesting. If Phil Spencer is serious about COD being every 2-3 years to allow other projects we could be in for some great games.
@StonyKL @Pimpernel Blizzard announced via its recruitment page that it is working on a new IP. A survival game which could release next year. Recently Infinity Ward also put on there LinkedIn page there looking for staff to work on a new IP also. An open world RPG.
@NeoRatt Microsoft created Worlds Edge to be there RTS studio. They could do the same for there kids IPs with Toys For Bob. I Could easily see Banjo & Conker turn up in a future Skylander, kart racer, kids brawler, gaas game or a remake/remaster of there older titles.
@Exerion76 Sony owns the movie rights to Spiderman. Marvel owns the gaming rights & Sony had to negotiate exclusive rights when they purchased Insomniac just like Microsoft did with Indiana Jones when they purchased Bethesda.
Chip shortages due to lack of materials as a result of wars abroad. Covid didn't help manufacturing & supply chains again pushing up prices. But prices are dropping now though. Microsoft & Sony using SSD this gen definitely pushed the prices of there consoles but slowly prices will drop the more the tech is adopted.
@Kaloudz definitely. I suspect the main reason the GPU & Ram took such a hit is due the cost of the SSD in both Series models. Hopefully that cost should be cheaper by the time the next console releases. So I suspect if that's the case the lower model would have the same processor like the S does today but will include a similar specced GPU but with lower RAM & SSD.
@Kaloudz I can definitely see them doing it again as the Series S has been a hit all round. It's cheap making it the best selling Series console. It's contributed to growth in many poorer regions & also helped in Asia. It has attracted new users to the Xbox platform. I'd suspect Microsoft will take the criticism that devs have provided to them & improve on it.
Sega & Palworld dev Pocket Pair seem the logical choices. Square Enix & Platinum Games would be outside bets. But I'd rather Microsoft strengthen relationships. As Bandai Namco not being represented at the Microsofts TGS 2023 was worrying. Patch up relations with Platinum Games, Mistwaker & get level 5 on board would my preference.
Xbox TGS was good but lacked variety. But lucky support in Japan isn't. I get japanese game info from Gematsu & in the last couple of years you'd rarely see a game in the Xbox section outside of Capcom, Bandai Namco & Sega but now there is announcements regularly . Even in the TGS 2023 section they have a list of publishers attending & most have at least one xbox game at the show which is exciting. Unfortunately there is a few that don't like Level 5 but hopefully that will change in time.
I'm glad it's coming to Xbox. But very surprised we heard nothing about the FF14 beta & the pixel remaster collection. But more Dragon Quest in the future is fantastic starting next week.
@Kaloudz just not enough time in the day when the kids & wife are around. So make time either early in the morning or late at night when there asleep. FF11 is still active on PC.
@Kaloudz I'm sure Square Enix will add support for mouse & keyboard along with the standard game pad. So could use a keyboard to type commands to team mates in dungeons & raids as I did that with FF11 on the Xbox 360. I used the game pad on the PlayStation versions though.
But Im the same as I mostly game when the family are sleeping or not in the house.
@Kaloudz I play mostly solo & it just works. You can do most Dungeons with AI specially in the free trail stuff but with fresh Xbox users come next year getting players to run dungeons should be easier.
@Kaloudz they are indeed. I remember the golden age of FF7, Phantasy Star Online, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue etc. Western RPGs kinda took over specifically on Xbox but JRPGs are back with a vengeance now 👍
With the rumour the original FF7 remake was on display to devs to show the power of the Switch 2 👍. Could 2024 be when Xbox at least gets the first FF7 remake to go with Final Fantasy 14.
@Kaloudz I went off japanese single player RPGs a while back but still played FF11 & 14 but now can't get enough of them. It's getting the time to play them now I have kids booo lol.
@Kaloudz oh yeah there will be three expansions you need to buy & pay a sub to play by the time the game releases on Xbox. The free content seem to work in attracting new players 👍.
@Kaloudz it's extremely worth it 👍. But to be fair the free trail has enough content that you won't have to worry about a subscription for a long time.
@Kaloudz aye I said the same on Facebook earlier. That if Square Enix don't show anything, or just show Final Fantasy 14 beta news at Xbox's Tokyo Gameshow reel then nothing has really changed to get xbox users to invest in Square Enix titles.
@Cashews love them or hate them? Even with a new CEO there happy to piss off there fans on a whole platform. No wonder they lost nearly 2 billion in value. At least we have Atlus 👍
@Kaloudz I'd say give the beta & free trial a go first as there is a ton of content to explore before you need to purchase the game. as if you purchase the game then you have pay a sub each month after. Which is worth it. You will get your first month for free when you purchase the game though.
@Kaloudz I played it on both PC & PS4 before switching back to the Xbox One after the PS network got hacked. I recently started a new character on the PS5. Now im hoping to switch a previous account as I got locked out my psn 😕. Or use my new PS5 account or start a new one on Xbox.
@Kaloudz it's combat is tab based as your moves are on a task bar like WoW. It's hard to describe really but it works on a controller. It's a standard MMO in its wide variety of quests with a Final Fantasy twist. You only need one character to play all jobs. Doing raids & dungeons have an older Final Fantasy feel to it & the lore in 14 is a Final Fantasy fans wet dream with plenty of cross overs added. Recently there was talk of FF7 remake & 16 content to be added later to the game.
@Kaloudz aye. There is a few restrictions but nothing that would spoil the fun. All the info is on the FF14 website. I hope we get more info at the Tokyo Game Show about the beta as October is the release of 6.50 patch.
@Kaloudz I found that FF14 is one of the easiest MMO's to get into & can be played easily. I play mostly on my own except for raids. Should give the beta a try first then once released you get a free trial that allows to lvl60 & gives you access to a real reborn main quest & the first two expansions.
If Octopath Traveler 2, Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters & maybe Tactics Ogre Reborn or Live A Live aren't announced at the Tokyo Gameshow I'd be surprised. But if not maybe after Final Fantasy 14 drops I guess.
@Cashews That's where all those Microsoft haters seems to forget. Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Capcom & others now need western markets as Japan can't keep them afloat alone & that helps Microsoft. So yes getting a partnership with Level 5 & others would fill the gaps missing in not just Xbox's library but Game Pass's also.
@Dan1283 to be fair Redfall shows what state Bethesda was in that they needed exclusive deals with Sony & Microsoft to purchase them to get them back on track.
@Kaloudz if Microsoft announced any more Square Enix news I'd first expect the Final Fantasy 14 open beta news as version 6.51 releases in October. As for new titles heading to Xbox I'd expect the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster to be one of the first with maybe Octopath Traveler 2 & Star Ocean The Second Story R.

No Black & White remake so disappointed. Fallout 3 & Oblivion will do 👍 Ghostwire Tokyo 2, Dishonored 3 & Doom not surprising but welcome.

@Kaloudz 👍 another perk of the free trial is that you can jump in when you feel & don't feel pressured to play due to the monthly sub.

@Kaloudz the raids can be huge lol & team based 8-24 players depending on type of raid, definitely big battles with puzzles & tasks.
