@Kaloudz just not enough time in the day when the kids & wife are around. So make time either early in the morning or late at night when there asleep. FF11 is still active on PC.
@Kaloudz I'm sure Square Enix will add support for mouse & keyboard along with the standard game pad. So could use a keyboard to type commands to team mates in dungeons & raids as I did that with FF11 on the Xbox 360. I used the game pad on the PlayStation versions though.
But Im the same as I mostly game when the family are sleeping or not in the house.
@Kaloudz I play mostly solo & it just works. You can do most Dungeons with AI specially in the free trail stuff but with fresh Xbox users come next year getting players to run dungeons should be easier.
@Kaloudz they are indeed. I remember the golden age of FF7, Phantasy Star Online, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue etc. Western RPGs kinda took over specifically on Xbox but JRPGs are back with a vengeance now 👍
With the rumour the original FF7 remake was on display to devs to show the power of the Switch 2 👍. Could 2024 be when Xbox at least gets the first FF7 remake to go with Final Fantasy 14.
@Kaloudz I went off japanese single player RPGs a while back but still played FF11 & 14 but now can't get enough of them. It's getting the time to play them now I have kids booo lol.
@Kaloudz oh yeah there will be three expansions you need to buy & pay a sub to play by the time the game releases on Xbox. The free content seem to work in attracting new players 👍.
@Kaloudz it's extremely worth it 👍. But to be fair the free trail has enough content that you won't have to worry about a subscription for a long time.
@Kaloudz aye I said the same on Facebook earlier. That if Square Enix don't show anything, or just show Final Fantasy 14 beta news at Xbox's Tokyo Gameshow reel then nothing has really changed to get xbox users to invest in Square Enix titles.
@Cashews love them or hate them? Even with a new CEO there happy to piss off there fans on a whole platform. No wonder they lost nearly 2 billion in value. At least we have Atlus 👍
@Kaloudz I'd say give the beta & free trial a go first as there is a ton of content to explore before you need to purchase the game. as if you purchase the game then you have pay a sub each month after. Which is worth it. You will get your first month for free when you purchase the game though.
@Kaloudz I played it on both PC & PS4 before switching back to the Xbox One after the PS network got hacked. I recently started a new character on the PS5. Now im hoping to switch a previous account as I got locked out my psn 😕. Or use my new PS5 account or start a new one on Xbox.
@Kaloudz it's combat is tab based as your moves are on a task bar like WoW. It's hard to describe really but it works on a controller. It's a standard MMO in its wide variety of quests with a Final Fantasy twist. You only need one character to play all jobs. Doing raids & dungeons have an older Final Fantasy feel to it & the lore in 14 is a Final Fantasy fans wet dream with plenty of cross overs added. Recently there was talk of FF7 remake & 16 content to be added later to the game.
@Kaloudz aye. There is a few restrictions but nothing that would spoil the fun. All the info is on the FF14 website. I hope we get more info at the Tokyo Game Show about the beta as October is the release of 6.50 patch.
@Kaloudz I found that FF14 is one of the easiest MMO's to get into & can be played easily. I play mostly on my own except for raids. Should give the beta a try first then once released you get a free trial that allows to lvl60 & gives you access to a real reborn main quest & the first two expansions.
If Octopath Traveler 2, Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters & maybe Tactics Ogre Reborn or Live A Live aren't announced at the Tokyo Gameshow I'd be surprised. But if not maybe after Final Fantasy 14 drops I guess.
@Cashews That's where all those Microsoft haters seems to forget. Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Capcom & others now need western markets as Japan can't keep them afloat alone & that helps Microsoft. So yes getting a partnership with Level 5 & others would fill the gaps missing in not just Xbox's library but Game Pass's also.
@Dan1283 to be fair Redfall shows what state Bethesda was in that they needed exclusive deals with Sony & Microsoft to purchase them to get them back on track.
@Kaloudz if Microsoft announced any more Square Enix news I'd first expect the Final Fantasy 14 open beta news as version 6.51 releases in October. As for new titles heading to Xbox I'd expect the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster to be one of the first with maybe Octopath Traveler 2 & Star Ocean The Second Story R.
I'm hoping for more details on Final Fantasy 14 🙂. Maybe more Square Enix titles like Octopath Traveler 2, Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters & Star Ocean The Second Story R hopefully coming to Xbox . More news from the summer showcase titles from Sega & Capcom. I'd like to see more of Blue Protocol & Namco. Plus hopefully a few suprises like last year when we got support from Level 5 in getting Ni No Kuni 1&2.
@antstephenson it's worldwide. As it was a condition by the EU to get ABK acquisition approval. But Microsoft said they would just roll it out worldwide instead of being just in Europe.
@InterceptorAlpha to be fair both Redfall & Last of Us shouldn't have released in the states they did on which platforms they performed poorly . But I only mentioned Last of Us PC as everyone seems to give that one & Sony a free pass due to both being credited with releasing high profile games. People forget this is Arkanes first dud also.
To be fair the Series S has been more of a success than doom. Microsoft said 40% of all new users to the eco system have done so with the console. It's helped in developing countries where cost is a big deal & even helped Microsoft in Japan. So I'd say the console has probably helped Microsoft get more games in the long run than it has lost due to its lower spec & feature parity rules.
Was sold when the article mentioned Powerstone. One of my favourite Dreamcast games. Come on Capcom please remaster or release a new one. Back to topic I wonder how much the game is? I'd play the death out of this & my son loves Godzilla also.
@Deshalu as much as Sega makes sense. I think Microsoft will build partnerships in Asia like it has with Sega & go out there way to fix past mistakes like it has with Square Enix. I hope Phil Spencer will try to do the same with Platinum Games & Level 5. If they do try to acquire a studio in Japan it may be Pocket Pair Inc as Craftopia & its upcoming game Palworld are console exclusive. I think Microsoft will follow Sony in looking at new markets as China, India, Ukraine, Russia (pre war) were hinted at as new markets to tap.
I guess this 20% off is the publishers way of saying sorry we signed a deal with Sony that prevents it from joining Games Pass like our other announced titles. I'm getting it at £19.99 as can see the whole family playing it including the wife 👍
@Banjo- Final Fantasy 14 is a fab game. Its a time sink though but in a good way. Plus another reason I guess Phil went to great lengths to get it on Xbox is it was voted the most popular Final Fantasy game in Japan last year. Yeah it sounds like whatever Phil & the Xbox team did has won over the new CEO to offer full support on titles not under exclusive contacts. I've not played a Fatal Frame game in ages. Is the new on good?
@Banjo- aye Pixel remaster & Octopath Traveler 2 would be the popular choice to be first to be ported. I'd say in the long run it would be better if all three release at once like you say who knows as Square Enix are a weird company to pridict.
@ThatMusicFan exactly as when it comes to japanese support Phil has certainly delivered with Bandai Namco, Capcom releasing pretty much there full catalogue. The Sega partnership going strong with Atlus full support & now Square Enix back on board 😀. I wonder what other suprises Phil has up his leaves. My only issue now is what game in 2024 to fully sink my teeth into Blue Protocol or Final Fantasy 14.
@Banjo- I'd expect the multi plat titles first specially the ones that are already established on Xbox as I guess that's what Square Enix meant by "when possible". It will be interesting after Final Fantasy 14, if we get 2024 titles first then the odd port of 2022/23 titles in between or we get 2022/23 titles first then a slight delay on 2024 titles until caught up. It will be interesting if Games Pass has any role to play as that would be financial & technical support. I'm not holding my breath until after all three Final Fantasy 7 remakes are complete as I think Sony has that wrapped up as like you said about extensions being extended. There is always the rumoured Final Fantasy 9 remake which Is meant to be like the FF7:Crisis Core remake. I'd also expect Switch exclusives to arrive before PS5 ones? as I wonder if the later would be the titles that Microsoft would offer more support so they'd be better optimized to run on the Series hardware specially the Series S. As the claims that Forspoken & Final Fantasy 16 could only run on PS5 hardware.
@Banjo- let's see what the Tokyo Game Show has in store. I'd expect similar games to what they did last time plus maybe one previous exclusive & release missing titles in the portfolio already on Xbox. So maybe. Octopath Traveler 2. Tactics Orgre Reborn. Live A Live. Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters. Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song. Star Ocean The Second Story R. It will also be nice to get Switch exclusives the same time as the PS5 when they expire so Dragon Quest Treasures. Harvestella. It will also be Intresting if they'd port PS5 exclusives eventually to boost sales of Forspoken. Final Fantasy 16. Valkyrie Elysian.
@HonestHick I'm the same. As spiderman doesn't interest me in slightest but bet its still a good game. I might still get myself a PS5 later for exclusives but after I've had fun with Final Fantasy 14

Re: Xbox Leak Unveils New Bethesda Games Including DOOM, Dishonored, Fallout & Oblivion
No Black & White remake so disappointed. Fallout 3 & Oblivion will do 👍 Ghostwire Tokyo 2, Dishonored 3 & Doom not surprising but welcome.
Re: Xbox Is Returning To Tokyo Game Show With A 'Digital Broadcast' Later This Month
@Kaloudz iam so used to being up at 4am by the kids I call anything after 3am sleeping in 🤣🤣🤣

@Kaloudz 👍 another perk of the free trial is that you can jump in when you feel & don't feel pressured to play due to the monthly sub.
Re: New Games Announced For Xbox Following September 2023's Nintendo Direct
@Kaloudz Id do the same but FF14 is so good & still hoping there games come to Xbox. I'm so weak lol.

Re: New Games Announced For Xbox Following September 2023's Nintendo Direct
Noticed the Square Enix's new SaGa title is coming to everything other than Xbox 😪. So much for Xbox getting to enjoy future titles when possible.
Re: Xbox Is Returning To Tokyo Game Show With A 'Digital Broadcast' Later This Month

Re: Xbox Is Returning To Tokyo Game Show With A 'Digital Broadcast' Later This Month
@Kaloudz the raids can be huge lol & team based 8-24 players depending on type of raid, definitely big battles with puzzles & tasks.

@Cashews exactly. Xbox still has a long way to go when it comes to japanese games but the fact we are getting more high quality titles is exciting.

@Cashews I said the same after Final Fantasy 14 was announced. It would be fab to see more games from Level 5 & Platinum Games.

Can't wait to see what comes from this new position 👍. Can't wait to see what the Tokyo Game Show brings this year.
