There was a lot of attention on Xbox missing out when Octopath Traveler II arrived on pretty much every other platform earlier this year, but team green supporters can now rejoice! Square Enix's well-received sequel is officially coming to Xbox next year.

Yep, this pair of Square JRPGs have gotten lots of praise in recent months and years, and the first one launched on Xbox so it always felt a bit odd that we missed out on number two. Clearly, Xbox's newly forged partnership with the publisher has bore fruit already.

Anyway, back to Octopath itself. Xbox says you can expect to be playing through the sequel in "early 2024" when Octopath Traveler II launches on Xbox and Windows PC. Here's a bit more information on this much-revered JRPG:

"In the faraway realm of Solistia, step into the shoes of eight new travelers, each with their own origins, motivations, and unique skills. Some people thrill to glamorous stars of the stage and industry, while others are brought to tears by war, plague, and poverty. Explore the land as you see fit, using their unique talents to aid you along your journey. Embark on an adventure all your own!"
