Whilst I prefer my game device themes to either be super clean or game-related, I do like this. Would love to get some "game" ones in this style

I love how reactive inexile's games are. I really dislike when your choices in a game just amount to what bit of text appears at the end of the game, I want my actions to have visible consequences to the world

@BDK71 he said the same sort of things about Perfect Dark, Zenimax's new game, Everwild, and others, and then they got cancelled, and developers got laid off.

Reportedly, those cuts had nothing to do with the games industry, but MS wanted to free up money for AI

Think I'll mess about with Sims 1 for a bit for old times sake, might give 2 a proper play though.

@Godot25 I'm sure the standlone DLC prices will be jacked aswell to justify this' pricing.

I'm honestly expecting GTA 6 to be "normal priced" but then have like a week's early access for another 50, maybe even a even more expensive one offering even more early access or even EA to GTA Online 2 aimed at streamers.

And there's the rake! Can't have any excitement around Xbox without one.

The only reason I paid for early access for Starfield was that I didn't want anything spoiled. I have no reason to do that for Forza and certainly not at this pricing. I guess the DLC is going to be pricer too to justify the increase cost here.

I'm actually interested in this game, though I'm sure it doesn't have the local multiplayer a true party game needs.

I do think it was kinda a misstep to have this be the surprise game in a video that opens with "we're celebrating 25 years of Xbox".

Since this has died, they should do a remaster of the trilogy, or at least make the trilogy available on modern platforms

It would be weird from a business standpoint to release both at the same time and cannibalise your own sales.

@Nintendo4Sonic I didn't really like Primal until the Survivor mode came out. Granted, it strips some of the most powerful (and contextually silly) skills from the game, but the limitations and the changes to night and encounters made the game sing for me.

With how Xbox has been going I'm reluctant to add to my library so I let gamepass handle that (for now) and spend my money on games elsewhere.

If the price of ram hadn't exploded (after GPU did) I would probably be on PC now and paying less for GP.

Footage of this kept appearing in my reels, it looked fun (assuming you like these sorts of work sims).

Crossover concerns aside, I do like that this isn't just a skin pack like usual. I like it's actually adding in ghouls for example.

@themightyant generally yes but Ninja Gaiden got a "fall" release date when it was included, Avowed also had a "late 2024" before its delay.

@TheGameThrifter Don't get me wrong, you're right, this will make it much easier for them to "bow out" later, but it should mean that our libraries won't be trapped on our ageing Xbox hardware before they do.

Yeah, this has to be Warzone, I don't see them putting this much effort into Black Ops 7 after the kicking it got.

I would love for it to be a Master Chief Collection-like package. Bundle the 3 MW campaigns together and separate multiplayer mode, do it with each subseries.

I do fear we're going to see much too much of the Halo remake. They've explained how its different, that's all that's needed till launch.

-Heading a new small studio.

@themightyant there's a good chance it just means new sub brands. You see this isn't MW4 then 5, it's 4 and "Ghosts", it's not BO8 then 9, it's BO8 and "Future Ops"

They really should of learned this lesson when MW3 got kicked to death.

It's a weird mistake for the company that actually managed to still do annual releases. CoD isn't a game, it's 4 games in a trench coat taking turns in the spit light, making a game do two turns only hurts that game

Not that I want anyone to buy WB but Paramount pulls that same "cancel and deplatform for tax breaks" nonsense WB pulls all the time. Netflix, at least, actually wants content for their platform.

Which means, like @somnambulance mentioned, they might actually save some of the stuff they just threw into the void.

I feel slightly better about Netflix grabbing them than the other parties.

Tangentially (since the article brought it up), where are all the Activision BC titles? I'm guessing it's all sorts of licensing problems causing it, but it feels like that should be officially confirmed at some point.

@OldGamer999 I'm not going to say you're wrong about competition, but PC part prices have exploded thanks to the AI bros buying it all up. No amount of new console makers is going to change that AI companies are sucking up all the hardware (and power).

It is concerning that this rumour is believable.

Years ago it would seem impossible that Xbox/MS just didn't see or care about the cost of RAM going up and did nothing, forcing prices to go even higher.

But now, it sure seems like something they'd do.

Man, I don't think I'll believe any release date for the PoP remake until the game actually opens on my Xbox.

@Markatron84 I now fear for my hat. Sure, the chance is next to nothing, but the damage would be high.

@Scrubchub I guess it depends on which remake rumours are true. One sounds more like Metal Gear Delta, shiny new graphics, exact same game, but another has this as a complete from the ground up remake, with it being the Kenway's actual story and not the animus recreation (I'm guessing it's like Mirage, no modern day stuff).

With the likelihood of Xbox not being a "true" console in the future I appreciate having access to my games on PC but I'm also kinda meh on Play Anywhere simply because it doesn't support the vast majority of my library isn't part of it and probably won't be.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "technically superior" Nex-Box pricing ends up "goldilocks" the Steam Machine into relevance.

Honestly, I think the Steam Machine isn't aimed at converting console gamers; instead, it's about giving PC gamers on increasingly aged hardware a way "out" of spiralling component upgrade costs instead of "going console" to play the latest games.

@Chip-Douglas a lof it people in my retro groups say Simpsons Hit and Run fans should try it I haven't yet (Fortnite is more my daughters thing) but that's probably the most effective endorsement I've heard.

I never got round to playing it. It launched rough, so I waited for a patch and played something else. When I was finished with that there was another patch due and the cycle went around and around.

@kelomaniack The sad part is others have done workarounds.

Hogwarts Legacy on S1 has a link to the store on the main menu that lets you get a huge discount on the S2 digital version (I used a pre-owned physical copy to get the deal), but I guess they are concerned we'll turn around and then sell the 360 disc we've kept for years.

@Kaloudz Not to jump in, but apprently I am. The fact the Xbox upgrade only applies to the digital copy suggests its a whole new client.

@kelomaniack If I had to guess that won't work as it won't be an upgrade patch, I suspect it checks your account to see if you own RDR1 digitally, and if you do gives you this version for free.

Speaking as someone who only has the physical copy, I hope I'm wrong.

Considering the kicking they got for MW3 you'd think they'd not try pulling "direct sequel to last years game" again, but here we are... again

The fact that this rating is for PS5, which already got a straight port, as well as Series and Switch, does suggest is more than a straight port.

@themightyant I'm sure there's probably more reasons why they can't, but the Mod limit was their major reason for not bringing it to Xbox soo... maybe?

With fans desperate for more Fallout content I'd make sense for Bethesda to help bring it across. Do it as a "creation" and then the devs can even get paid.

I think this might have exposed a huge hole I'm the next Xbox's "premium" plans.

It was one thing for a console-pc hybrid to be more expensive than a PS6, its another for it be more expensive than a consolised PC made by steam.

Putting price aside, my concern is that the majority of my PC games are not through Steam, it's one thing to leave my Xbox console library behind, it's another to gut everything but steam games.

Assuming running non-steam games on SteamOS become easy enough and they sort the anti-cheat problems, this might be where I end up next gen.
