Re: Microsoft & Sony Sign Binding Agreement To Keep Call Of Duty On PlayStation

WallyWest

@Solidchief Dead Rising 4 was timed and every DR barring 3 is on PS now. My point is people on here moan about Deathloop being timed while ignoring all the timed deals MS has done and still does. I'm not defending Sony here i'm just pointing out both do it despite how much people on here like to pretend otherwise. Sony and MS are as bad as each other something the Xbox players doesn't see.

Re: Microsoft's CEO Isn't A Fan Of Console Exclusives, Blames Sony

WallyWest

@Jaxx420 What i mean is Halo was the killer game for Xbox. Xbox didn't have much early on with GTA, no Resident Evil, no MGS, no FF and such but it did have Halo and i think without that Xbox would have been another pretender trying to enter gaming and failing hard like every console in the 90's that wasn't Sony, Nintendo and Sega made. Halo changed FPS gaming forever, it gave MS something no one else had and it made people want an Xbox.

Re: Microsoft's CEO Isn't A Fan Of Console Exclusives, Blames Sony

WallyWest

@HonestHick I get that but in a world without exclusives Xbox wouldn't exist nor would Playstation. He's acting like the issue is Sony while ignoring that Tears of the Kingdom is stuck on Switch or the fact Sonic 2 wasn't on the SNES. Exclusives sell consoles, i bought my Series S because of the exclusives. He's the twisting the narrative to make MS be the victim and Sony be the problem despite console exclusives being a thing long before they and Sony entered gaming. As i said many times i have zero issues with SF being exclusive, its most likely for the best as its getting a treatment from MS it wouldn't have got if Multiplat meaning it should launch better then say Skyrim and FO76. MS just seem to say stuff that sounds holy accept their actions are just as unholy as Sony. Both are as bad as each other but i feel MS and its fanbase really want to pretend otherwise.

Re: Xbox Was Thinking About Acquiring Square Enix Back In 2019

WallyWest

Honestly them trying to buy a Japanese company would be a bigger hassle then them buying Activision due to how Japan are. Wouldn't be shocked if the reason they passed on Sega was due to them knowing it would be too difficult so instead worked with them with partnerships and such.

Re: Jim Ryan: Publishers 'Unanimously' Do Not Like Xbox Game Pass

WallyWest

@Jenkinss I mean FF16 is doing things that are pushing gaming hard, those big titan battles for instance couldn't be done on last gen consoles. As for the visuals well have you played it? DF were mostly impressed and while its not the best looking game its sure easily the best looking FF game that isn't FF7R, its actually pretty stunning at times. As for it being linear? Again have you played it? Do you even know what linear means? Yes its not open world but guess what apart from FF15 no FF game has been a true open world, its got some big open zones though to explore and do side quests like say FF7 or FF12.

Re: Jim Ryan: Publishers 'Unanimously' Do Not Like Xbox Game Pass

WallyWest

I actually call BS here. Look i believe Gamepass isn't doing as well as MS claim and i'm sure some Publishers don't like it but i feel he's confusing his opinion with facts and cherrypicking the people who don't like it. End of the day he doesn't have all the facts here and if anything downplaying GP doesn't help him, if anything he should overhype it and make it sound a threat to Sony.

Re: SEGA & Bungie Included In Huge List Of Companies Xbox Has Considered Acquiring

WallyWest

@Hellostranger So you want one gaming corp ruling gaming free to do whatever they want? Wanna know why Gamepass exists? Because they needed something what PS lacked. Wanna know why MS dropped the original X1 idea? Because Sony forced their hand. Competition should always exist in this market because it works out better for us. The reason MS feel like your "friend" right now is because they're bottom.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

WallyWest

@Green-Bandit Just to be clear i don't take any issue with you, i actually respect your takes and i find you well reasoned so if i'm been snarky i do apologise. I take meds for a medical issue and i was due them today only to not be giving them due to a fault their end, its left me very on edge today hence why i've been more way snaky and yeah ruder then usual on here today. I just wanted to say that before i leave my final response on this thread.

I'm just sick of this hypocrisy i see on here at times. I know its a Xbox site so it will have bias but you would think they're perfect angels going by comments on here and it feels like you can only like Xbox if you give loyalty to MS. You seen me on PQ you know i give fault to Sony if i see it, in fact i praise MS a lot of there. I tend to fault Sony, MS and Nintendo on the sites based on them as i feel that's where they deserve it. Anyway i'm tired and done with arguing over a gaming box.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

WallyWest

@Banjo- Have you actually read the interviews with SE about Sony're role in FF? If FF16 was 3rd party it wouldn't be the same FF16 we have now and the same applies to FF7.

Look i get it when MS do exclusives it timed deals its fine but when Sony do it its bad and corrupt. Sony are doing the things MS are doing or have done. I'm sorry though poor MS the Trillion Dollar Corp who have had to suffer at the hands of big bad Sony who could barely afford the 4B to buy Bungie. Dude MS are not victims here, if they were allowed and the parent side of MS wanted too they could buy up gaming like all of it from Sony to Nintendo to EA to Take Two and so on and after that? They would most likely still be a trillion dollar corp. Sony are no threat to MS no one is, they don't need you defending them.

Boo hoo FF16 a game that would sell poorly on Xbox anyway isn't on it doesn't mean it justifies buying the biggest 3rd part gaming publisher out there. Dude we have Starfield coming this year, its without a doubt one of the biggest games this year no doubt biggest if not for Zelda and it will leave FF16 in the dust and it along with Zelda will be the games people look at 2023 and think off. FF16 doesn't matter to MS because they have something that will do better on Xbox then FF16 ever would on it. Just to be clear though i don't care Starfield is Xbox exclusive, if anything it being exclusive is better as its allowed MS to be heavily involved with it and iron out issues most Bethesda games launch with. My issue is MS are not stopping with these acquisitions and i don't think they will stop until they're forced too. If those emails are true they want Sony outright removed from gaming.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

WallyWest

@Banjo- I will go back to the 360 days as it taught Sony hard lessons. Remember how MS had timed CoD deals? GTA IV timed DLC? Remember how Splinter Cell Conviction is on 360 but not PS3? Remember how MS were the ones to force Horse Armour to be a cost as they didn't want free DLC on the store for it? Let's move on to the X1? You remember the original plan right a plan Phil was part of? Games wise MS sure loved those timed deals or exclusives like Dead Rising 3 a full exclusive or Ryse another 3rd party exclusive, then you have Dead Rising 4 and Tomb Raider being timed exclusive. Series era see's Stalker, Arc 2, more Indies then i can count, Scorn (meant to be timed but who knows) and more that i can't remember. Before you say "well MS helped fund some of those" well yeah Sony helped fund FF7R and FF16 and allowed SE access to their tech for the games. MS even make deals to embargo reveals to other consoles now, out of the 3 Atlus reveals only 2 have been officially revealed for PS days after the Xbox reveal with the 3rd only known to have a PS release thanks to a slip up.

Funny patten MS does something and Sony copies it. Look at the history and you will see the anti consumer stuff usually starts with MS first with Sony then taking note and then copying or "improving" on it. Paid online even started with MS.

Re: Xbox Is Expecting The 'Next Generation Of Consoles' To Begin In 2028

WallyWest

Sounds about right. Might be the first gen i buy both a PS console and Xbox console on the launch days providing they both stick to how they done things with the PS5 and Series consoles. I hope MS do another Series S type console for next gen, its something big they have over Sony in my opinion and allows a cheap and easy way into the Generation. While i'm ready to upgrade to a Series X in the coming months i have loved my little Series S.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

WallyWest

@Green-Bandit But Phil does lie he does it all the time they all do, come on dude he's one of Don Mattrick's supporters Phil has never been clean he's just very very good at PR and feeling like "one of us".

Look i'm not defending Jim, i would cheer if he was booted as he's bringing down what Sony built up last gen but Jim is doing what any other person in his position would do. If Sony were buying Activision do you honestly think Phil would let it happen? He would say and do anything to stop it why? Because Sony or MS owning Activision will massively impact the other in a negative way.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

WallyWest

@J_Mo_Money Funny during the Xbox showcase i done nothing but give it praise, in fact it was so good i plan on upgrading to a Series X in the coming months and i'm excited to do so, i'm also super pumped for Starfield more then any other game coming out and have already set aside £100 for the most expensive digital version. If i hated Xbox i wouldn't do that.

You see i love Xbox and i love my Series S but yeah sue me i can't stand MS but i will praise when they deserve it just like i tear down Sony on PQ when they deserve it just like i did with that dreadful showcase focused on live service rubbish no one wants.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

WallyWest

@Zoidpilot4 Oh i would happily tell them that to their face. Anyone who thinks MS bought Activision because Sony bought Bungie should just stop talking, MS would have been planning on buying Activision long before they were even aware Sony were buying Bungie and even if they were would they care? They just bought Bethesda one of the biggest publishers in gaming so Sony buying Bungie and keeping it 3rd party means so little to them. Don't need qualifications its just basic logic and common sense to know or guess these things. If anything Sony's spending spree started after MS's but of course Xbox fans love to forget that MS bought a ton of Devs prior to going after Bethesda and Activision.

Re: Jim Ryan Wasn't Overly Concerned About Call Of Duty Xbox Exclusivity

WallyWest

@Green-Bandit You think i like Jim? I don't and it would be better for us if he was gone its just unlike Phil who has a knife behind his back i feel Jim is more open with his intentions for better or worse. End of the day Jim and Phil don't give two "sh*ts about the players its just i feel one doesn't really try to hide it while the other does, i prefer honestly over snakes ready to bite.
