Today marks 32 years since Sonic first made his debut on the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive back in June of 1991, and to celebrate the occasion, Sonic Frontiers is receiving a totally free "Birthday Bash" update!

There's quite a lot packed into this update, including a New Game+ mode. You can check out the trailer above.

"Celebrate Sonic’s birthday on the festively decorated Starfall Islands! Spin dash your way to the party with new challenges, moves, collectible Koco, and New Game +! Sonic’s Birthday Bash Update for Sonic Frontiers is available later today for free!"

If you haven't tried it yet, we had great things to say about Sonic Frontiers in our 8/10 review last year, praising it as a "triumph for the series" and calling it "one of the most enjoyable 3D Sonic experiences of all time".

In addition to today's Sonic Frontiers news, don't forget that Sonic Origins Plus is also now available for Xbox, introducing a whole bunch of Sonic Game Gear titles to the collection along with a few other goodies. If you already own Sonic Origins, the upgrade is $9.99, otherwise you're looking at a price of $39.99.
