I loved Burnout Paradise ( like everybody else here, I am sure). I always felt that Need for Speed Most Wanted on the 360 had more in common with Burnout than other NFS games, and always thought of that as a sort of sequel to Paradise.
To be honest, I would rather play the games at the higher resolution. I might be in a minority here, but the jump from 60-120 isnt as noticeable as the jump between 30-60. Whilst I would absolutely sacrifice resolution to reach 60, 120fps just doesn't seem worth it.
Some of these games have had their resolutions lowered to run at 120fps, so I don't believe you need hdmi 2.1 for these, just a 120hz display will do. You can always drop the xbox's output to 1440p manually in the settings too.
I have found VRR to not really be worth the effort, my Samsung has a thing called Game Motion Mode. It doesn't increase input lag like other Motion modes I have had in older tvs, which rendered games unplayable. It makes everything look really smooth, even the 30fps games. Not sure how Samsung have managed it without increasing the input lag, but i will take it over VRR.
I was disappointed with the lack of online multiplayer on Moving Out. Overcooked with your friends was hilarious, and then we tried Moving Out and couldn't play it.
Game Pass has led to me spending 90% of my time on Series X, and my ps5 hardly gets a look in. I typically buy PS exclusives when they hit the £30 mark, but Games Pass is slowly changing that view. If Microsoft can start publishing more games of Sony's quality, then it's going to put a lot of pressure on Sony.
I would prefer the lifetime subscription, and even though it is questionable that Game Pass in its current form would exist for 40 years, it would definitely last a couple of generations.
Duke Nukem World Tour is pretty great, it's like reliving my childhood again. I picked up Doom Eternal DLC too through the Microsoft Rewards scheme ( think I actually only paid about £3 for it?)
@Jarobusa managed to get her first time. Had a couple of near misses, and I finished the fight with a sliver of health and having used the resurrection stone, but managed to do a double runic attack on her which finished her, phew!!
Of course I am excited. Racing through my current playthrough of God of War so I can sink my time into this. ( Only got the Valkyrie Queen to do, so should get it done tonight).
It's really cool to be able to play this day one on game pass. Between GPU and PS+, I literally don't need to buy games anymore.
I reckon Hitman 2 would be a good shout. It was on ps now a few months back, believe its no longer on there, so it seems likely that it goes onto Game Pass.
I have a Series S and One X at the moment ( and the One X hasn't had any use since I got the Series S, even for older games). I will try to get a Series X tomorrow but not going to worry too much if I don't.
Whilst my pc is pretty ancient ( I have bought an xbox 360, ps4, xbox one, series s and ps5 since buying that, and even back then it was only about £250), it is more than capable of running Command and Conquer Remastered so I will definitely go back to Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2 and Generals now.
@ISD1982 this has been the story of my life the last year or so. I tend to wait for games to drop to the £30 mark but Game Pass or PS Plus have been adding them near enough the very next month.
Doom Eternal - came on Game Pass 2 weeks later Greedfall - Came on Game Pass AND Plus within a couple of months. Final Fantasy 7 Remake - Bought last month, now on PS Plus ( although I can upgrade to ps5 version which cannot be done with plus version) Classic Dooms - Bought these on ps last month because they were 1.99 each, obviously going on GP today.
Don't think I will bother buying games any more lol
I was playing Sea of Thieves when it went down. I was up in the Crows Nest and the ship started tilting, I said to my mate "wow, thats a big wave". Second thing I said was " OK, thats a HUGE wave". Next thing I topple out of the nest which by that point was nearly horizontal, I fell in the sea, swam back up and emerged to see our brig sailing off into the sky Peter Pan style!! We were all in hysterics, which were short lived when we couldn't rejoin the game lol.
No thanks. You would just end up obsessing over numbers, truth is if a game drops from 60 to 57, you most likely are not going to notice. If you need an actual counter to detect an fps drop, then the drop is probably nothing to worry about.
It would just drive me mad. As long as the game is nice and smooth, what's the problem?
I sometimes have to laugh at Digital Foundry's videos when they say stuff like "we detected no drops during gameplay, but in this cutscene, you have 2 seconds where you see it drop from 60 to 47" and I just think "its a cutscene? Who cares?"
Having said that, I am loving the 120fps mode on Master Chief Collection. I recommend giving it a go. If you have a high refresh rate monitor or tv, but only hdmi 2.0 you will need to drop the resolution of your xbox down to 1440p and disable the "Allow 4k" under display options. (Edit: I just added that because it took me about half hour to work out. I have a 2.1 TV but only a Series S, which can't do 4k@120. Its either an upscaled 1080 or the 120.
I am working all weekend but yesterday I played a bit of Ghost of Tsushima ( fantastic game by the way, worth getting a ps4 for alone). Tonight I will be playing Halo Reach with some mates, really enjoying the new 120fps mode ( once I figured out how to stop the Series S from putting MCC into 4k mode, which limited it to 60fps. You have to not only put your xbox output to 1440p, but you also need to go into a different menu to uncheck "Allow 4k". )
@raymccrae I imagine there is a lot more base ps4's than Xbox Ones judging by console sales figures, so that would most likely be the answer to that question. Also I imagine a higher % of xbox players are playing it on One X or above, I might be wrong though, just a guess.
@Kopite I hope so too. Obsidian would make a great Fallout game given time, and considering they have Avowed and Grounded on their road map, yet Bethesda have Starfield AND Elder Scrolls 6 on theirs, they might get chance to make a Fallout game before Bethesda do.
As has already been well documented, the launch was an absolute disaster. I personally switched to ps4 and have absolutely engaged with Sonys first party exclusives in a way that I was never able to with Gears and Halo ( Forza is an exception, other racing games feel lacking in comparison, unless they are purposefully trying to do something different). However, I think next gen is going to be very different. MS now have a lot more studios, and I am excited to see what studios like Obsidian ( who I have loved since the Black Isle Studios days), Id ( again, loved their games since playing the very first Doom back in 93) and Playground Games come out with now they have a bigger budget.
Starting the next gen with the Series S for Game Pass, and the PS5 to play the 4k stuff. I will eventually sell my Series S and One X for the Series X once availability of next gen consoles improves.
@KelticDevil I forgot about the first Wolfenstein. ( well, the fourth lol). I never got round to that one. Quake 4 I wouldn't mind playing again, but the original 96 Quake was glorious, I would love to see that on Game Pass for PC.
I am getting the Series S and PS5 digital. PS5 1tb will be sufficient as I will only be playing exclusives. The S is more of a challenge, I reckon the final score on that will be 400GB. I already have an external SSD 1tb on my One X, so will use that for the BC games, and I have a 4tb on my pc that I could use as a sort of "pack mule" if necessary. I dont have much stored on my pc so losing that wont be a huge problem.
@1 I have just recently hit 100k too ( and unlike my PS account, they are not all Ratalaika games lol).
But saying that, I have pretty much lost interest in trophies/achievements, I just play the games for fun now. Sometimes if it is an easy trophy list i will go for it, but i run away at the merest hint of a challenge now i am in my 30s
I will probably be getting the Series X first, with the PS5 at a later date once Sony have got a dozen or so big exclusives out. Game Pass wins out for me though. Hardly bought any games since August.
Also it's super cool to see an Xbox site from the Push Square team!!! My favourite Playstation site now has an Xbox site!! And it recognised my PushSquare account too!! Didnt even need to sign up. Awesome stuff!!

Re: Another Six Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (May 1)
@TrueAssassin86x unfortunately cannot at the moment due to Covid-19. I'm a front line worker so last thing I would want to do is put my mates at risk.

I downloaded Rain on the Parade the other day, looking forward to starting that up when I get back from work. It looks like it could be quite fun.

I got Doom Eternal Season Pass with some reward points but that's about it, Game Pass and PS+ are keeping me busy enough.

Really enjoying this so far, despite the server issues. Feels like a Gears of War/ Destiny/ Mass Effect hybrid.

Re: Guide: All EA Play Games Included With Xbox Game Pass For PC
@FraserG ah okay, they are not showing up for me either. That's a shame, hopefully its just a bug. Would be weird to hold that back from Game Pass.
EDIT: I can't find Medal of Honor Pacific Assault on the Xbox app either.
Re: Guide: All EA Play Games Included With Xbox Game Pass For PC
The older Command and Conquer games are on it as well, looks like you missed that out.
Re: Guide: All EA Play Games Included With Xbox Game Pass For PC
@Krzzystuff same here, but my pc is so old it takes about 10 minutes to load up.

I will definitely be getting back into the Command and Conquer collection, about the only games my decrepit old PC will play.

Slow to start....
As has already been well documented, the launch was an absolute disaster. @themightyant yeah, didn't think it was. Now they own Obsidian, i would be surprised if it didn't get BC support.

Never got to play Forza 7, so will definitely be giving that a go. I loved 6. Brutal Legend looks interesting, it's a game I never played before.
