Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 10-11)

A bit of a retro weekend for me

NBA Jam (SNES) Going to playing starting a Team game with my son and see if we can beat all the NBA teams.

Heroes of Might and Magic III (PC) Continuing with the campaign still a great game even all these years later.

Diablo III (Series X) Goal is to finish up Act III this weekend.

Madden 25 (Series X) Midway through my second year as a half back for the Denver Broncos.

@Kaloudz In all honesty they just need to stop with the reboot, remake ideas and just do something different. Like something in the vain of Salvation or the TV series. Take a period that's hasn't been done before and go with that. Explore the war more or John as a kid with his mom before the events of T2 or even Sarah before having John.

Yeah Salvation was set to be a trilogy but when the studio went bankrupt that plan died.

@Kaloudz Yep that's my biggest problem with the series is that they always have to change the timeline of past movies everytime to make their movie make sense. I mean I guess it makes sense with all the time hopping and changing future events and what not the continuity would get all messed up. The almost need a Marvel multiverse kind of thing to happened lol.

I totally forgot about Bale's rant lol for some reason I always think that happened during Dark Knight, then again I forgot that Bale was in Salvation. Which speaking of series ending early apparently Salavation was the beginning of a new Terminator trilogy but for whatever reason they never did the other movies.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Still Buy An Xbox At Microsoft's 2025 Prices?

Tasuki

I already have a both a Series X and S so no.

It makes sense now why MS is pushing Gamepass on so many devices like Smart TVs, phones, tablets, PCs. They can still attract people who want to play their games but don't want to spend all that money on a new console. Where as people who want to play Nintendo games or Playstation games will need to purchase a Switch 2 or PS5 to play them and due to the price hikes may not now.

Diablo III (Series X) Started Act III this week will continuing on this weekend.

Madden 25 (Series X) With my rookie season done lost to the Chiefs in the Division Finals, I am looking to improve this season.

Avowed (Series X) Still working on this one and still enjoying it.

@Kaloudz I have seen One and two a million times I saw 3 once in theaters and wasn't impressed. I get that they couldn't use Arnold at the time cause he was too busy playing Governor of California, but to me the movie just felt like any other sci fi action movie and was largely forgettable. I liked Terminator Salvation for what it was. What was so interesting with that one to me at least was that they decided to place it during the war something that I have always wanted to see in the franchise so for me that one was decent. I have never seen Genesys due to the bad reviews I read and heard about and the fact that it was some kind of reboot/remake thing of the first two movies just killed it for me. I also haven't seen Dark Fate either mainly cause I am just scared to see it as I can't see it being any better then 3 or Genesys.

As for the TV series, yeah that was a big disappointment that they ended it after two season and on a cliffhanger. Although season two wasn't as good as the first so I could see why they canceled it. But for what it was I did enjoy the first season.

Re: Evil Dead: The Game Gets Delisted Across Multiple Storefronts, Xbox To Follow

@Kaloudz Right and that's where they stand. They can't really continue the Friday the 13th series unless Victor Miller allows them, which he won't that how this whole mess started so unfortunately they are just left with abandoning the I.P. I agree that it sucks but if he owned the I.P. then it's his to do as he wishes and if they used it without his permission then that on them and deserve what the got. It just sucks for fans of the franchise.

Yeah I agree I tend to watch older movies then the newer ones, just something about them that I enjoyed more. The first two Terminators are amoung my favorite movies with the first being may favorite out of the two. Funny enough it was original planned out as a horror movie.

Re: Evil Dead: The Game Gets Delisted Across Multiple Storefronts, Xbox To Follow

Tasuki

@Kaloudz Well basically everything that was mentioned in the first movie they can't use so like the setting and names which is basically everything. All they can do is some generic like Friday the 13th knock off. I mean they own the rights to Jason's look from 2 on but not his name. If anything they would have to just do a spinoff series with someone impersonating him or trying to follow in his footsteps, think Scream.

That said then they have the problem of it being to close to the Scream series. Which makes me think I wonder if Wes Craven knew about all this stuff going down when he came up with the idea for Scream lol.

Re: Evil Dead: The Game Gets Delisted Across Multiple Storefronts, Xbox To Follow

Tasuki

@Kaloudz So from my understanding he owns Jason, Pamela, Alice Hardy and the rights to the first movie. The second on he doesn't, but the argument is that because he owns the rights to Jason, Pamela that the second on shouldn't have been made without his ok.

In theory you could make a sequel and have a hockey mask killer but you couldn't use the Voorhees name in it or an connection to the first movie. But yeah.... I know it's very confusing lol.

Re: Evil Dead: The Game Gets Delisted Across Multiple Storefronts, Xbox To Follow

Tasuki

@Kaloudz Off and on for years. I know for awhile he was told he has no case but appearently he had owned the character.

Yeah I am not sure if those movies don't exist anymore or what, I know that it probably means no more sequels unless they create a new killer. I mean if you want to get technical part five I think it was is OK cause that wasn't Jason in the end.

Re: Evil Dead: The Game Gets Delisted Across Multiple Storefronts, Xbox To Follow

Tasuki

@Kaloudz So originally the creator Victor Miller wrote and created the characters for the first movie. He never intended to make sequels or series or anything. I am guessing due to the success of Halloween, and the slasher genre the studio decided to make the sequels and making Jason the killer in the rest of them. He was told that because he was an independent contractor for the studio and was a work for hire that his copyright for Jason, Pamela and the rest of the first movie wasn't legal, so they studio went on to produce the other movies without his involvement or say in the matter. I don't think he even got royalties. After years of fighting and such the courts ruled in his favor saying that yes he owns the copyrights and that Jason was used without his permission. So as a result stuff like the game had its license revoked and had to stop.

It would be like if Miyamoto made Mario years before Nintendo and had a copyright on him and Nintendo came along and said hey we want to make a game with him in it and then it blew up what it was today Mario being Nintendo's Golden Boy, but Miyamoto never agree to it.

Re: Gearbox Announces New, Earlier Release Date For Borderlands 4 On Xbox

Tasuki

@Nintendo4Sonic So the problem with Pre sequel is it has spoilers for 2 so if you haven't played 2 and are interested in it play 2 before pre sequel otherwise you will be spoiled.

Tiny Tina's is a spinoff from the series and really doesn't connect to Borderlands games. It does play like them with a more emphasis on fantasy then sci-fi and has the characters from 2 but the game is a story in a story. Basically the characters from the Borderlands game play a game like Dungeons and Dragons and that Tiny Tina's. Also Tina Tiny's Wonderlands is a sequel to a DLC from Borderlands 2 so you might want to play that before hand.

Basically best bet is start with 2 and go from there is you enjoy 2 then hit Pre-sequel and if you want more there's 3 and Tiny Tina's.
