Re: Talking Point: Did You Expect More From Xbox 360's 20th Anniversary?

Tasuki

Not really. With backwards compatibility alot of the big games that defined the 360 era can still be played which keeps that gen fresh in people's minds. To be honest I didnt even realize it was 20 years till I saw articles here.

Once backwards compatibility became and previously gen consoles getting longer life spans the generations just blur together and as a result a person forgets how long its been since a said consoles debut.

I mean if you think about it why have your games tied to one console or system. I know plenty of people that would love to play Mario on a PC or PS or Xbox. Just like PS owners are enjoying Gears and Forza Horizon 5 on PS and Xbox and Switch owners enjoy MLB The Show.

Look at it this way consumers pay at least $500, $700, $1000 whatever the console goes for once. But games people pay $60+ all the time. Put that across multiple consoles and you can see it adds up.

Consoles dont make money software does.

Re: A Month Later, The ROG Xbox Ally X Has Totally Changed My Gaming Habits

I dont know if the next Xbox is a Hybrid or handheld only console I will just go with PC then. I am not big on handheld gaming I always preferred gaming on a big screen in my living room. I grew up with a Gameboy, loved my DS and 3DS and own a Switch but I find myself always gaming on a home console more.

Of course the big thing is the price, for what there are asking I can just get a decent gaming laptop or just upgrade my desktop. Still as much as I enjoy Xbox consoles if they decide to go the Hybrid/Handheld route I will still be playing their games.

@ILuvGames I played Pre-sequel years ago and really couldnt get into it the antigravity just didnt feel right to me and I did start Wonderlands as well but got sidetracked with other games, that is a game I need to finish. I have played through the first Tales game and the second one is in my backlog.

I also have the Bunkers and Badass TTRPG as well which is interesting on its own.

@BAMozzy I could understand exclusives during the NES days to a point but now its not needed. The companies dont make money on the hardware so they make it back on the software 10 fold. You can go back to the days of the original Xbox and see that MS always lost money on the consoles so in theory wouldn't it be smarter to get your software on every machine possible? Look at Sega for example.

Even if I was a shareholder in MS I'd rather see as many games on as many different devices as possible cause that would mean more money in the end.

@BAMozzy My thing is why are gamers so against others getting games. So what if Gears is on Playstation as well. The more people that can play a game the better as that means more money for the devs and more success for the game. I never understood the ignorance that gamers have even way back in the 16 bit console war days. Do gamers want to see devs fail or studios close down because they didnt make what the uppers where wanting?

Re: World Of Warcraft Dev Still Not 'Actively Working' Towards Native Xbox Console Version

I went back to WoW for War Within and to be honest its not very new player friendly anymore. Its all centered around the raids now and to be honest the best way to experience those is with people you know. Most guilds now are total meta gamer raiders. Lore isnt there like it is in Classic and its just about how fast you can get raid ready.

Now if they ported WoW Classic which may be easier at this point then I would be interested in that. As retail goes they can keep it on PC.

Borderlands 3 (Series X) Continuing with the Handsome Jackpot DLC, I feel like I am at the end of this one. I am really enjoying it alot.

Heroes of Might and Magic The Olden Era (PC) Really enjoying this demo alot. Definitely is a good addition to the HoMM series.

Fallout London (PC) In a bit of a Fallout mood due to Fallout Day being a few days ago so I will be playing some Fallout London.

Re: Sarah Bond: Our Next-Gen Console Will Be 'Very Premium' & Informed By ROG Xbox Ally

Makes sense as Microsoft is a software company first and foremost and has been more PC focused then any other video game company. If the next Xbox is the price of a new gaming PC I will pass on it and just stick with my Series X and PC.

Sony's first party library isnt for me as I am not that big into cinematic experiences. Also for their first party games that I want to play like Spider-man series or Horizon Zero I can get them on PC.

Looks like the only true video game console in the next few years will be Nintendo.
