Microsoft gave me a refund on premium edition if anyone else is in same boat (I hadn’t played it yet). Very quick and easy

The first reviews I read were gamespot, polygon and ign. I was super hype for the game, had the starfield controller in box waiting for today. Disappointed to say the least. Was doing chest day at the gym right before it launched and decided to just skip it entirely

I paid for early access and bought the starfield controller but after all the bad reviews I can’t bring myself to play it lol
Edit: MS did refund me for the premium bundle (i hadn't played it yet) was quick and easy

I just finished last of us 2 last night and I picked up dead space for Xbox on sale yesterday. Was considering armored core but I’ll hold off on that for a bit I read dead space is really short and I’m also trying to keep things cleared out for starfield

I have a series x so doesn’t effect me but I think I’d be fine w some compromises if I had an s. I have a ps5 but always get cross platform on Xbox, I’ll be preordering this

I just bought Blair Witch and plan on getting one of the puppet combo games i haven't played yet (only played murder house)

i wish sony got this kind of scrutiny when they pay for console exclusives, etc.

look MS put a lot of work into backwards compat, it's pretty incredible. In fact i'm starting to collect physical xbox games (just ordered KOTOR for OG xbox today) as keep sakes. Got that hyperkin duke on order too, i'll be playing like it's 2003.

honestly i thought they'd go out with a bang, like, thanks for sticking with us! i guess they wanted to remind us one last time we won't miss it.

@Tharsman Man that punch gun. at first i was confused thought maybe it was to interact with something? Then was like wait...is this.. the weapon? but yea i got stuck a few times in a row trying to punch fun my way out and that was it, too much other stuff to play

i really enjoyed the first half. Then i got to the combat heavy stuff and couldn't do it. Gotta say the reviews were basically spot on

still not worth it imo. i got so bored i couldn't finish it.

just give us a 20 hour, focused platformer like the first one. you don't have to reinvent the wheel here. people would love it, it doesn't have to be a triple AAA open world 100 hour adventure.
Edit- also just a reminder that they bought rare and got what, exactly? Kamino (terrible), nuts and bolts (why!?) and Sea of thieves (not bad but really they only thing they've done)

@Magabro i don't think you read the article bro. The point is it's unusual to take this long and they have lost staff who was working on it out of frustration

@Magabro I understand that, but that's not really the problem. The problem is now we're learning they haven't actually made any progress on those games they announced well in advance

Honestly fellas i went and bought a ps5 this weekend, ff16 got me. I still feel like the big X is my main, and I think it's the better console (things like quick resume, the massive backwards compat, etc.). But they just cannot get games out the door. Idk if it's they have this massive bureaucracy with overlapping, competing roles, no oversight, or what. But the fact is they learned at the reveal of the xbox one this battle is won and lost on games, especially what games only you can offer. A decade later they still haven't solved it. Loved Xbox from the day i got my og at christmas and booted up Halo with the Duke in hand, but enough's enough.

I'm honestly starting to consider buying a ps5. I had to ship my new switch off to nintendo for repairs. I was pumped for Xbox this gen and i'm looking forward to starfield. But, you know what, ff16 looks good. Bloodborne looks good.
