@Dsswoosh Oh trust me mate I know. I switched mainly to consoles late last generation because I got tired of all bloody settings tweaking.

But I love building crazy rigs so I still got a quite beefy PC hooked up to the TV. Ironically, its main use is old games that are limited to 30 fps on consoles and/or offers too low resolution for my liking.

All new games I play on XSX/PS5 because they’re generally better optimized, offers 60 fps and a resolution that’s good enough for me. And perhaps the most important aspect, it’s plug and play! I don’t have to spend hours on changing up the settings to make the game run perfectly.

Think I’ll give Watch Dogs 2 a shot since it’s on PC as well. I prefer to play older games on PC where I can crank up the resolution and frame rate to look and feel good on the big screen.

Bah, Raji leaving? That sucks. I was patiently waiting for the enhanced edition to drop.

@Thrussted Seriously. I’ve been playing on my PC for only a few days (been ages since I last played on PC) and I’ve already encountered a handful of bugs, literally game-breaking ones. Game Pass on PC is far behind its console equivalent.

Not surprising really. It probably doesn’t have anything to do with “superior” hardware. More likely due to Xbox backwards compatibility being slightly better and more suited for these kind of patches.

Good thing I chose the Xbox version this time.

I’m interested in trying trying For Honor’s story mode. But what does it really entail, is it a traditional story campaign or something else?

@stefan771 They should focus on Syndicate. Unity runs perfectly fine with FPS Boost.

Better start checking retailers around here for preorders. I got both consoles at launch because some retailers put up preorder for Series X/PS5 over a year in advance. Obviously without knowing exactly when it was being released or how many units they’d get.

MW2 was the last good CoD game, in my opinion. So yeah, I’m excited. Fingers crossed for a day one release on Game Pass.

Hardly surprising. The Series S delivers exactly what I expected it would. Looking at the specs it is essentially a One X with new SSD technology in a smaller package.

Why do people think a $250 machine should be able to output 4k60fps with ray tracing..? (Yes, I’m exaggerating).

Whew! I completely Remnant From the Ashes just last week. Didn’t expect much, ended up having a really good time with it.

But after completing both Elden Ring and Remnant From the Ashes (hard mode, solo) and currently working my way through Demon’s Souls remake; I’ve changed my view on Souls-like entirely.

@Rangers420 I agree with you but do you honestly believe we fans have any kind of say in these multi billion business deals?

On top of that, it’s only a tiny minority of fans that are actually vocal about these things.

Eh, I don’t see how Microsoft could purchase Ubisoft right now.

Of course, their limitless wallet ain’t stopping them but I’m pretty sure the FTC would. If it really is on the table, I’d imagine Microsoft is making sure the ActiBlizz acquisition is granted first.

Enjoyed Outriders quite a bit actually, so I can’t really bad-mouth the base game. Although endgame grew stale pretty fast.

$40 is a hefty sum for an expansion. Gotta be rather grand for me to jump back in.

@Kooky_Daisuke Unlikely. But they did confirm Ubisoft+ for consoles are in the works.

For the most part it works as expected. But yes, there are problematic games (such as, but not limited to, always-online games).

The “easy” fix would be to let us toggle Quick Resume on or off per game basis. Have it enabled by default but let us choose to disable it.

@Kooky_Daisuke I agree it is a bit short but that goes for many great games. I’m looking at you Insomniac Games, absolutely stellar games but oh so short. Most Resident Evil games also springs to mind.

@reidar_vincenzo Hah, oh. Yeah, I lucked out on my latest unit and got the “best” fan which is essentially inaudible. Ironically, that makes the coil whine feel worse since that’s all you hear now.

@Pigrotto Yeah, you can probably do that. But truthfully, I would like to keep my console in energy-saving mode or instant-on for the software updates. I wish Microsoft would implement a similar option to Sonys.

@Bleachedsmiles Well, yes. I agree it’s overly complicated to perform a so called full shutdown.

It doesn’t bother me personally, however, the forced always-on USB ports, are. I don’t want to perform a full shutdown every time. Even in Energy-Saving mode the USB ports are always powered.

@reidar_vincenzo I hear you, mate. Night and day difference between my XSX and PS5. I’ve exchanged my PS5 six times (yes, really. I’ve had 6 different units) in hope of getting one without coil whine, but alas, no dice so far. My current one isn’t bad to be fair, but hardly dead silent like my XSX.

Not a bad selection, if true. I’ll be trying out both Life is Strange: True Colors and Lost in Random.

TUNIC or Weird West for me. I would say GotG but I bought it day one on PS5 and finished within a week and sold it afterwards. Way too early for a second playthrough. Amazing game, though.

@K1LLEGAL If Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands get a price drop already I’ll pick it up. I normally buy games on disc and sell them when finished. But Borderlands games I tend to get digitally. It’s the kind of game I like to pop in and have some mindless fun with from time to time.

@Kooky_Daisuke That sucks. If you’re in the EU you should be able to exercise your right to be forgotten when you’re done with the game. But of course they could potentially sell your data before that.

Tempted to pick up Xuan-Yuan Sword 7. Still a tad expensive for a game that’s relatively unknown to me, though. But it looks interesting PureXbox’s review was positive.

But I see now that Ubisoft refers the other DLCs as “expansions”.

I will probably check out Far Cry 6 DLCs. Already finished the base game and sold my copy, so it’s nice they’re offering the DLCs as well.

I am assuming it’s only the base game and the new mission that’s available during the free weekend?

Enjoyed the base game, loved the main protagonist. But I have a feeling the DLCs aren’t worth getting. Past Far Cry games had pretty mediocre DLCs in my opinion.

Oh boy, Immortals Fenyx Rising 2! Bring it on. I had pretty low expectations for the first game but ended up totally loving it.

I hope they’ll put it on Game Pass. From all the negative publicity this game has received I don’t feel comfortable dropping like $70 on it… Although the promised enhancements like VRR and Dolby Vision support sounds pretty neat!
