Nice. I’ve been waiting for this update. Had a blast with Dying Light 2!

Trying out Ghostrunner on PS5 and playing ELEX 2 and some TUNIC on Series X.

I’ve been pushing through multiple AAA titles as of late, so these games are a nice change of pace.

Last GTA game for me was San Andreas in, I believe, 2008. Will I ever buy GTA 5? Probably not, but never say never!

Looking forward to Weird West. Normally, that type of game wouldn’t peek my interest but after having a good time with The Ascent, I think it might suit me.

Hm, never heard of it. But now it definitely got my attention. Looks pretty dope!

@Jango-Forest Perform a “full shutdown” from the settings menu (general -> power mode & startup).

@Dezzy70 I feel you. I used to have mine on Instant-On but since the electricity bill has skyrocketed here, too, I decided to switch over to Energy Saver.

Interestingly, I put GotG on queue from the app the other day and was surprised it had also already finished downloading when I turned on my Xbox today.

Booted up my Series X today and noticed all my games were up to date. I immediately checked if I accidentally put it in Instant-On but no, still Energy Saver. This clears things up! Great news.

@Dezzy70 Pretty sure it works right now given my experience.

I tried the balanced option and it’s a lot more crisp than performance. Maybe dynamic 4K or 1440p? Regardless, I like it!

@Richnj Damn. I just don’t get it, they’re crazy expensive and FEEL like high quality stuff yet fails to deliver fundamental functionality. Most of my controllers were literally faulty out of the box. How the hell does that pass QC, I wonder.

Edit: I wanted to grab the Halo edition but then I started reading people were having identical issues with that one as well. So clearly nothing but the shell was changed.

@Banjo- The problem is their horrendous quality checks. I’ve exchanged my Series 2 four(!) times and that’s within a single year. I’m very careful with my stuff. Faulty B button, faulty A button (eg not registering input), faulty RB and one with major stick drift on the right stick.

I love the controller to death but Jesus Christ MS really need to do something about these recurring issues.

Eh, I played the demo on PS5. And truthfully, it sucked from beginning to the end. Looked like it came from the PS3-era…

@uberdaddypig Haha, I finished the base game in pretty much exactly 120 hours. Luckily, I previously linked my Ubisoft account with all my platforms. Now I just booted up Valhalla on Series X and seamlessly picked up where I left off on PS5.

I played through the whole base game on PS5 and then sold my copy. I’ve been contemplating whether I want more Valhalla or not for some time.

Now is a perfect time jump back in; take on the new free content and then evaluate whether I should pick up the ultimate edition for cheap to get the DLCs and ultimately purchase Dawn of Ragnarok. But this time on Series X (gotta love Ubi’s cloud-save functionality).

I quite liked the first one. I hope they make a sequel but frankly I doubt it.

I was contemplating whether to buy DL2 on PS5 or XBSX. This update made the choice easy because I own a VRR capable TV.

Funny, I don’t necessarily like zombie games but this one is different somehow. Just started and I can already tell it’s right up my alley despite being a zombie game.

I played through the base game on PS5 awhile ago, had a blast. Sold my physical copy though, but I’m seriously considering to pick up the gold edition digitally on XBSX and play the remaining DLCs.

Not sure if it’s worth it though, but I want to play Dawn of Ragnarok so I figured I might as well get the gold edition.

Erm, I can’t access the crossfireX campaign? Only the base game of 7.6gb is downloadable.

I very rarely purchase anything digital unless it’s an indie/old game or some kind of season pass that’s not available on disc.

With that in mind, I did pick up Assassin’s Creed: Origins thanks to the recent news that Ubisoft is cooking up a 60 fps patch. As well as Mad Max, a surprisingly good game I had never heard of before.

@oconnoclast I get what you're saying but frankly I doubt it. I mean even Microsoft managed to pull off 60 fps on Far Cry 3, which is even older, and that's without the developer's help.

In the end it's just Ubisoft being Ubisoft I guess!

I was actually a bit excited for this one. Blood Dragon was a lot of fun. But 30 fps? For Christ sake come on! That’s low, even for Ubisoft…

I, for one, loved Valhalla. Only played the base game because I tend to dislike most DLC’s in games. Sold my copy already but I can get the gold edition for $40 digitally. Wonder if it’s worth it though.

I played it on PS5 but made sure to save a cloud copy in case I wanted to try it on Series X. Love that feature from Ubi, really.

@Alex79uk No *****? I just said I hope EA didn’t scrap the multiplayer part yet. They said something like “we’ll never say never” sorta thing before, but of course that could just as well mean it’s never coming.

Man, I hope this means multiplayer is still on the table. ME multiplayer was actually really, really fun. I’m not much of a MP gamer but ME still managed to hook me in.

In addition to being added to Game Pass, Generation Zero just got boosted to 60 fps as well. Sweet.

Tough call for me. Revisiting ME was a blast but I think I’ll still settle for It Takes Two. Fantastic game.

Series X: Mortal Shell, indeed, and some BioShock Infinite.

PS5: Deathloop. This game definitely deserves a spot on Game Pass later. Yes, the AI is still awful but the game itself is actually very enjoyable.

“Mute speaker audio when headset attached.” Thank god, not a day too soon.

Having to always zero out the volume every time I connected my headset was really bothersome. Especially since I tend to switch over to Netflix after a gaming session, then I had to manually crank up the volume again.

Disappointed so far. Feels like a cheap cash grab. I'll wait for the updates before I even consider continue playing.

Excited to play GTA:SA. I haven't touched GTA since like 2010 or something.

Skyrim has been on my radar for the longest time. But I always put it off thinking there's no point playing it in 2021. Maybe I should reconsider now when it's getting a big upgrade.

@K1LLEGAL There's another reason as well, the 60 fps performance mode was crap. Frames dropping all the time, especially during combat. VRR on the series X can probably smooth it out a bit but I fear it's still going to be pretty bad.

Played it on PS5. I encountered a couple of glitches along the way but nothing game-breaking.

I really enjoyed it. For once I actually opted for the full 4K experience over 60 fps. Mainly because the combat was subpar, by far the worst aspect of the game. But the characters, story, stunning visuals and especially the dialog had me hooked til the end.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I have a fast internet connection and I only buy physical discs so I can resell them when I'm done. I don't have time to replay games anyway.

I usually end up paying $5-20 max when buying games at release and sell when finished.

Never played Far Cry before, I am guessing it's a stupid idea to jump straight into the 6th installment? Or is it possible to enjoy it without any prior knowledge of the previous games?

Looks dope, think I am actually going to check it out! Never heard of the series, good thing you supposedly doesn't need to have played any of the previous games.

@JayJ I don't know, man. I thought so too but then again why would I want to play an "inferior" version of the game instead of waiting 10~ minutes for it to fully download?

It's really cool alright but I probably won't use it to be honest. I am lucky enough to have an unmetered super fast internet connection, so downloading games is always a breeze.

Finished the campaign including all free DLCs on PS5. I think the campaign was pretty neat to be fair.

Not going to bother with the multiplayer garbage but good for Crystal Dynamics, this will definitely boost the player base.

Continuing my journey through the massive world of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

I also have intentions to try out Aragami 2 this weekend.

Forgot about Lost in Random. Hope it turns out to be good, I'll hold off until the reviews are in though.

Only based on the list above:

1. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (probably PS5 for me).
2. Halo Infinite (mostly interested in the campaign).
3. The Gunk. I don't know about this one but it looks promising.

Looking forward to Aramagi 2, seems interesting!
