I’m only on around 70mbps, so if it’s a large game I try and download overnight where possible.

I think it would be a bad move if it does happen. Healthy competition is always a good thing for the market. Some PS fanboys moan that they won’t (for the moment) get to play games like Elder scrolls 6, but PlayStation already has its own fair share of exclusives, most of which are very good. If it does happen why would anyone buy another Xbox console? Maybe for Gamepass, but I don’t think that’s enough on its own.

Being a racing fan I use it quite regularly for Codemasters’ games, either for the trial or waiting for the full game to go on there. I was on the fence over the recent WRC game, but the trial convinced me to buy it (in a sale mind you). Saying that, I wouldn’t subscribe to EA Play on its own if it ever left Gamepass Ultimate.

After a brief hiatus I’m right back into Forza Motorsport. I think it’s a good move from Turn 10 to renew the “open” class events in career mode on a monthly basis. Apart from dropping in new tracks, it gives me an incentive to keep playing.
I’ll also be playing a couple of games I bought in the Lunar sale during the week. These include Trepang 2, and Warm snow.

So far I’ve bought Trepang 2 and Warm snow. Still a few others I’ve got my eye on.

AC Codename Red, Star Wars Outlaws and a new Far Cry game are all likely day 1 buys for me. Surprise there’s no mention of a new Division game - I thought they were working on something? 🤔

I loved Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla so hopefully this will be similar with a big open world, RPG mechanics etc. If so, I can’t wait!

Definitely giving this a go! What with the lunar sale as well I could suddenly be inundated with new games to play! Modern day problems 😂

@BowsersBuddy I haven’t yet played it but it has lots of glowing reviews on the Xbox store. It’s been on my wish list for a while so I’m also tempted! 🤔

Looking forward to this track, especially with all the different permutations that will be available (day/night, wet/dry etc). Please fix the AI though - fed up with cars braking for no reason, or me getting penalised when they hit me 🙄

Two high scoring games…unfortunately neither interest me. Not into fighting games, and I’ve tried a few Yakuza games on GP but they didn’t really click with me. Happy for everyone else though 🙂

I’ll wait till it comes on Gamepass thanks.

Playing and enjoying Prince of Persia The lost crown. Decided to get it on XSX over PS5 for quick resume feature, which is very handy in a game like this. Still playing EA Sports WRC, and it looks like with this weeks patch Codies have finally fixed the screen tearing. On PS5 I’m playing through Horizon Forbidden West again, which I’m thoroughly enjoying.

F1 23 was the first F1 game in about 10 years that I didn’t buy, so will definitely be playing that. It also coincides nicely with the EA F1 dynamic theme just released, which I installed. Not much else on that list interests me tbh.

Definitely picking up Prince of Persia. Will get it on Series X rather than PS5, as it seems an ideal game for quick resume.

Glad they’re working on AI. Two things that really annoy me are 1) getting shunted from behind by an AI car and then ME getting a penalty. 2) AI cars suddenly slowing down for no apparent reason

I love the AC games of Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla, and have spent far too much time in their huge open worlds! It’s hard going back to the earlier games, even the excellent Black flag, with their simple game mechanics. I got Mirage for Christmas, but am struggling to get into it. Can’t wait for AC Red, hopefully later this year.

I’ve pretty much rinsed AC Valhalla inc both expansions, but it’s well worth your time if you haven’t yet played it. Lovely graphics too.

I finally decided to give Redfall a go, now that it’s had several patches. Quite enjoying it, though it’s still early days. Gunplay seems pretty solid, and the 60fps performance mode is nice and smooth. For my racing fix I’m still playing Forza Motorsport and WRC. On PS5 I’m playing Avatar FoP.

For me it’s either GTA V or Red Dead Redemption. Both are great games that pushed the console to its limits.

I put in around 35 hours before quitting. I may go back to it at some point, but definitely not anytime soon.

After playing the 5 hour trial, I finally pulled the trigger this week on EA Sports WRC as it was reduced to £27. It’s not exactly a graphical showcase, but still a good rally game with plenty of content. Also playing the excellent Risk of rain returns on Switch. On PS5 I’m playing Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, which I’m still undecided on, though it looks gorgeous.

Lots of good reviews for this on the store page, and it’s very reasonably priced at £24.99. Have added it to my wish list as I have plenty of other games to play right now.

As much as I want to play GTA 6, I don’t think I want my Xbox dashboard teasing me every day about a game that isn’t out for potentially 2 years 😂

The old dreaded mixed reviews scenario 🙄 I’ll probably get it at some point, but am too busy with work & Christmas right now.

If anyone is going to push the envelope in what a console can do it’s Rockstar. You may have to wait 5-7 years for a game from them, but it’s usually worth the wait. I reckon GTA 6 will be 30fps on PS5/XSX, but by then PS5 Pro and the Xbox equivalent will be out on which GTA 6 will probably be 60fps.

I think “mixed” is about right tbh. It has some good points, but also quite a few flaws. I uninstalled it a few days ago to make some room for newer games.

I want to play this but there is no option in the game to invert Y axis! This is a deal breaker for me, and looking at the Xbox store reviews for many other people too. Hopefully it will get patched in ASAP.

I finally caved and bought Baldur’s gate 3 (sorry, couldn’t wait for the Xbox version!). Looking forward to getting stuck in over the weekend. Will also try and squeeze some Forza Motorsport in.

Not sure I can wait for the Xbox version. I’ve just finished Cyberpunk / Phantom Liberty, and close to finishing Spider-Man 2, so I’m looking for a new game to play. It’s either gonna be BG3 or Alan Wake 2.

As much as I’m enjoying Forza Motorsport, I think I’m gonna shelve it for the time being until they fix the “applying upgrades” bug (infinite loading screen). It’s happened to me 3 times now and you lose your progress from the previous race every time 😡 I’m gonna give the 5 hour trial of WRC a go for my racing fix instead. Also trying to wrap things up in Cyberpunk & Phantom liberty. I’m quite enjoying Jusant as well, which is giving me some Ico vibes (great game that deserves a remake).

They need to sort out some of the bugs first. I had an infinite loading screen bug when the game was applying upgrades to my car between career races. When I rebooted the game it hadn’t even saved my last race result, meaning I’ve got to do it again 🙄

Won’t download for me 🙄 when I click on the free trial it just takes me to a “manage subscription” page.

This wasn’t really on my radar as I’ve never played the first game, but I can’t ignore so many good reviews! Guess I’ll have to watch a story recap on YouTube or something before diving in.

Probably not much on Xbox this weekend as I’ll mainly be hopping between Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Wonder. If I can pull myself away from these 2 excellent games, then maybe some Forza Motorsport and Cyberpunk on XSX. Happy weekend chooms! 🙂

Can’t believe how quick this has come to GP! I would give it a go, but I just have too many other games to play right now. Time is my nemesis 😂

I played some races today and still had some issues. When racing on Lime Rock park I had some flickering on the track just in front me (using bumper cam) for the whole race. They also still haven’t fixed the RT button not working during replays (it’s supposed to fast forward, but does nothing). I’m sure these issues and more will be addressed at some point though.

I’m buying 2 new games next week…but neither are on Xbox! Spiderman 2 and Super Mario Wonder. I may pick up Hot wheels Unleashed 2 though at a later date.

Playing quite a lot of Forza Motorsport right now. I’ve been mixing it up between career races and online. Glad to say I still have a S safety rating 🙂 I always find it quite funny when another (online) racer barges past me, but you can see in the top left corner what penalties they’ve accumulated, and always gives me a wry smile when even though they’re in front of me on track, they finish behind me because of penalties 😂
Also playing Cyberpunk 2077 / Phantom liberty. Really enjoying it, just a shame that even after 2.01 update the Series X still struggles in some areas of Dogtown. Saying that, the lighting in this game is phenomenal, especially in building interiors.

You ask will it lead to greater player numbers? The problem is they’ve released this during a very busy game period (BG3, Starfield, Cyberpunk 2.0/Phantom Liberty, AC Mirage) with still more to come (Spiderman 2, Super Mario Wonder, Lords of the fallen). I still haven’t played Redfall yet but definitely want to, I just don’t know when that will be.

Really enjoying Forza Motorsport so far. Even did a few MP races yesterday, and I hardly ever play online. The only thing I’d wish they change is to add qualifying laps in career mode, instead of picking your own grid position (“Risk v reward” as they call it) .Still playing Cyberpunk 2077 / Phantom liberty. I had started a new play through for the 2.0 update, but decided I didn’t have the time so reloaded my previous V, though it meant spending an hour or so redistributing all my attribute & perk points. Loving Dogtown so far.

I voted Starfield, even though I’m pretty bored with it now.

Why the hell is this patch 38gb?!?! 😱

I hope they can find a way to add post-launch (free) tracks to the career mode, much like GT7 added new cafe menus.

It looks cool, but I don’t think I can justify buying another controller after recently buying the Starfield one!
