I’m still undecided. Have just bought the first game for about £6 in PS store sale, so shall see how I get on with that, even though everything I’ve heard says the sequel is better in every way. I’m hoping for a trial/demo for KCD2 🤞
One of my biggest gripes with the Hobbit trilogy was the look of them - far too much “green screen” going on. Yes, I know LOTR had some, but nowhere near as much, and the LOTR movies generally looked more natural/grounded.
I’m probably going to get the premium upgrade (yeah I know, I’m part of the problem 😂) simply because I have 3 days off work on the weekend following the early access release.
Never played the first game, and tbh from what I’ve read in reviews for KCD2 I don’t think I’d have the patience for it. Oh well, Avowed is out in a few weeks…
I’m off work next week, so wouldn’t mind sinking my teeth into a new game. KCD2 is a possibility, though I never played the first one. Will see what the reviews say first, though I’ve heard it’s more welcoming than the first one.
Playing a handful of indie games right now, including new release Ender Magnolia, Brotato, Brothers: A tale of two sons remake, and may give new GP release Starbound a go. Also downloaded Ninja Gaiden 2 black last night. Never played a NG game before so not sure what I’m in for yet.
Just bought Brothers: A tale of two sons remake Played the original version and really liked it, so the remake has been on my wish list for a while. As soon as I saw it reduced to £7.99 I pulled the trigger 😀
Have always used ultimate, especially when you can get good deals from places like CDKeys or Shopto. Wouldn’t think of downgrading right now with games like Avowed coming out soon.
What sort of game is Starbound? Looks like a mix of different genres. Also looks like the kind of game that will consume all my free time if I let it 😂
I’ve been delving into my back catalogue recently. Assassins Creed Mirage - which I got for Christmas 2023! - has been getting the most play. Quite enjoying the back to basics gameplay, and Ubisoft’s depiction of Baghdad is gorgeous. Also from my back catalogue - I’ve finally got around to playing Slay the Spire! This has been on my Xbox for a good few years now, but I just never got around to playing it. I’m enjoying the combination of a roguelike with card deck building mechanics.
Surely they realise that GTA 6 will be the exception rather than the rule when it comes to what people are willing to pay for a game. Many people will begrudgingly pay $80-100 for this game, because it’s probably going to be a once in a generation title. Few will pay this for any other game.
I finally rolled credits on Dragon Age Veilguard. Thoroughly enjoyed this game and is probably my GOTY for 2024. It speaks volumes for the game when only after some 118 hours of play I was starting to get the first twinges of burnout. I now have a big hole in my gaming schedule, and don’t know what to fill it with 🤔 I want to do another play through on DAV as a mage, but think I should probably take a break from the game first 😂
@ironcrow86 Veilguard for me too. Around 105 hours (!) in and still having fun. Some people just didn’t give the game a chance because of a small amount of woke content, some of which is even optional.
Still playing Dragon age Veilguard - close to 100 hours now 😲 also playing Infinity Nikki on PS5, which has a GORGEOUS open world. Close to throwing in the towel on the Indy game. I love exploring tombs, and the graphics are fantastic, but the stealth sections - of which there are many - are just too annoying. Now starting to think the PureXbox’s score of 6/10 wasn’t so harsh after all.
My go-to game is still Dragon Age Veilguard. Just passed the 80 hours mark and still loving it 😀 also playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. I have mixed views on this game so far. Sometimes I love the exploring, like under the Vatican. But other times I get frustrated, as I seem to keep getting lost in the Vatican 😂 Also, constantly wandering into “restricted areas” is annoying af. Tbh I’ll just be glad to move on to the next area.
I’m thinking of buying the roguelite (roguelike?) Redacted. Anyone played it?
Update. Ok, I played Indy for a few hours this morning, and the game is really growing on me. I solved the fountain puzzle, and am now exploring underground again, which is great fun. They really captured that Indy feel, especially with the original trilogy. Oh yeah, the graphics are amazing, and all at 60fps! 🙂
1) Dragon Age Veilguard
2) Star Wars Outlaws
3) Indiana Jones and the great circle (a couple of more weeks and this could have been higher)
4) Dragons Dogma 2
5) New World Aeternum
I still play it regularly, almost daily. Hardly ever play multiplayer though. Always do the SP races that refresh every month, like the open class tour races. FM is my “palette cleanser” game between other games. I appreciate the drip-feed of new tracks over the past year. My only complaint would be the lack of fictional/fantasy tracks, which Sony do pretty well in GT with tracks like Trial Mountain and Deep forest raceway.
@YeyoFairy I don’t know why I didn’t think of checking CDKeys, and I use them quite often too 🤦🏻♂️ they have FH4 ultimate edition for just over a tenner so may get that.
@AlwaysPlaying but I’ve only ever played FH4 through GamePass, so technically I don’t own it. If I now go to buy it, it will trigger the download, hence my original post. Obviously I could download it and then immediately delete it, though it would remain in my library I guess for a future download (after it’s been delisted).
I wish Xbox had a similar feature to PlayStation, where you can “add to library” rather than download the game. I wouldn’t mind getting Forza Horizon 4, just for posterity, but I know it’s a big download and SSD space is precious.
I can’t stop playing Dragon age Veilguard! Have clocked up around 55 hours and still not finished the main story, though have been doing a lot of side/companion/faction quests. I’m already looking forward to my second play through, next time as a mage. I can’t believe some people would deprive themselves of this game just because of a minimal amount of woke content 🤦🏻♂️
I played AC Syndicate (again) over the weekend, and was surprised at just how good this update is. The parkour is really fluid now, and the resolution boost is nice. Would like to see AC Unity receive the same treatment.
My current go-to game is Dragon Age The Veilguard. I’m about 25 hours in and really enjoying it. I’m using a warrior build, and will probably lean into the Champion spec once I hit level 20. Also playing Forza Motorsport, and Thronefall on Switch. I’m not starting any other games right now as next week I’ll be playing MFS 2024 and Stalker 2 (which reminds me, I need to clear some space on my Xbox 😂)
I played it on PS4/5 and loved it. I found it a chilled out experience for the most part, and loved negotiating the barren landscape. But I completely get why some people would find it boring though. Can’t wait for DS2!
Dragon Age Veilguard. Only bought/started it this week, and I’ve also never played a DA game before so it’s all new to me. Saying that, I’m really enjoying it so far. I was boring and went for human/warrior 😂 though I can definitely see myself trying out the Rogue/Mage classes at some point.
Wow…this come out of nowhere 😱 As someone who has played this on PS4 and PS5 I highly recommend it. It looks absolutely gorgeous on PS5, so imagine it’s the same on Series X. Granted, it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea though. For me, I got the most joy out of traversing the beautiful environments, carrying your cargo load and doing deliveries. Combatting enemies or BTs was actually my least favourite part of the game. But give me miles and miles of a desolate environment, whilst carrying a full load of cargo and I was in gaming heaven 😃 This game really is about the journey, not the destination.
Not really into Halo, or Gears of war, though Gears tactics was quite enjoyable. I’m not into Forza Horizon as much as I used to be, 1-3 were the best ones. Never even tried any of the Fable games 😱

That’s all I really want from a game like this! 😀
Re: Avowed Xbox Preload Now Live Ahead Of Game Pass Release
@Darylb88 It’s finally downloading the full 75gb file! 🙂
Re: Avowed Xbox Preload Now Live Ahead Of Game Pass Release
@Darylb88 still not downloading for me 🙄 sort it out Microsoft, I wanna be playing this tomorrow night!
Re: Avowed Xbox Preload Now Live Ahead Of Game Pass Release
@Darylb88 yeah I’m having the same issue. Won’t download the full 74gb, just the 300mb placeholder. Hope they fix this soon.

I have LOTR trilogy on 4K, but not really a fan of the Hobbit movies. Great deal for anyone that doesn’t have them yet though.

2) Star Wars Outlaws (68 hrs)
3) EA WRC (65 hrs)
4 ) Dragon Age The Veilguard
5) Dragons Dogma 2

I’m still not sure about them using first person view for this sort of game, but will definitely give it a go as it’s on GP.
