Lost in Random The eternal die is a solid roguelike (roguelite?) which I’m enjoying a lot. Fantasy Life i the girl who steals time I just passed the 40 hours mark and still having fun. Don’t really want to start much else right now because of Death Stranding 2 coming out next week, which I’m looking forward to.
I enjoyed the demo so will probably buy this at some point. A lot of reviews are mentioning an infinite loading bug though, so will wait until they’ve fixed it.
@antonioacm yeah I’m really enjoying Lost in Random the eternal die. As you said, it has a lot in common with Hades, which is no bad thing! It’s a very solid roguelike to tie us over until Hades 2 finally arrives, which could still be quite a while by the looks of it.
My main go-to game right now is still Fantasy Life i - The girl who steals time. Around 25 hours in and really enjoying it, and have barely touched the “Ginormosia” map so far! Also playing some Roadcraft, and have The Alters downloaded and ready to go 😀 have also decided to pay the £3 for early access to Lost in Random the eternal die so I can play it over the weekend. I like a good roguelike/lite, and so far this feels very solid and quite similar to Hades, which is no bad thing.
I’ve never really clicked with the FF games. Admittedly I bought both FF7 remake and rebirth in sales, and got quite a few hours out of both, but never finished either of them. I may give the FF16 demo a go though.
At the start of the week I finally caved and bought Fantasy Life I The Girl who steals time, which I’m now addicted to 😂 I’ve now unlocked all starting ‘lives’ and got them all up to fledgling status and have just reached the next area, Ginormosia. I can see this game devouring a lot of my free time! Also playing some Roadcraft. Have 100% completed first two maps, and am now on third map, incommunicado.
Still absolutely hooked on Roadcraft - love this game! I was also playing AC Shadows, but am starting to feel a bit burnt out on it now, not that surprising considering I’ve clocked up nearly 80 hours! I’ve downloaded the trial for F1 25, so will give that a spin over the weekend. Anyone played Fantasy Life i - the girl who steals time? This could be my next purchase 🤔
On Series X I’m playing Roadcraft, The Precinct, and Doom The Dark Ages. Have to say, I’m enjoying Roadcraft way more than I was expecting. It’s quite a chill game, it looks great, is often very rewarding, and I love the variety of vehicles to drive. I’ve now finished the first map - Precipice - and have just started the second. Some of the things they’ve removed - like fuel, damage, and day/night cycle - haven’t bothered me at all. This all leads to the game generally being more accessible and user friendly, and has me quite excited for the inevitable Snowrunner 2. Because of the very nature of these games, you also know you will get a lot of mileage - pun intended 😂 - for your money.
I decided late last night to pull the trigger on this after seeing some good reviews, and the £35 price tag didn’t hurt either! I played an hour or so this morning, and already prefer it to the underwhelming Expeditions. Some purists may grumble about the removal of managing your fuel, but this just makes it more accessible and less micromanaging. I can see myself investing many hours into Roadcraft over the coming months.
@Fiendish-Beaver yeah it’s ok. I’m worried it could get repetitive, but so far I’m enjoying it. I think it’s a game to play in bite size sessions, maybe between other bigger games.
I’m quite interested in Roadcraft, though will wait for reviews as I bounced off Expeditions quite hard. Deliver at all costs looks like fun. My only worry is that I’m currently playing The Precinct, and as they both have the same isometric perspective I may get controls mixed up between the games 😂
@Scrubchub I played DA Veilguard when it came out last year and genuinely had a good time with it. I know I clocked up over 100 hours by the time I finished the game 😱 After that I recommend (unless you’ve already played it) Avowed - thats damn good too.
Doom The Dark Ages. Only unlocked 3 guns and the shield so far, but am having fun. I like the new shield abilities, makes you feel like Captain America 😂 The Precinct. Quite enjoying this, though am worried it could get repetitive after a while. Hopefully it will prove me wrong. AC Shadows. Just passed the 70 hours mark, and still chipping away at it.
For those who are considering buying this, I highly recommend going the few extra quid/dollars for the complete edition. Both DLCs were amazing, as is the base game. One of the best RPGs from the last decade.
I agree that this will be a 30fps game - there’s no way current consoles can run these graphics at 60fps. Saying that, if it’s a super smooth 30fps - and Rockstar will certainly have had long enough to optimise it - then it won’t be an issue. Even AC Shadows runs great in quality mode imo.
@somnambulance @Lup me too! I’m about to quit it. I was fighting this creature yesterday and it had 5 shields (meaning you have to hit it 5 times before it even takes any damage) a few moves later (same fight) it suddenly had 9 shields 🙄 and I just thought I can’t be bothered with this, and quit.
Gamepass has been on 🔥 this year. Personal highlights for me are Avowed, South of Midnight, and right now Expedition 33 and Oblivion remastered. Avowed alone I put in around 70+ hours. Also can’t wait for Doom The Dark ages next month. I Won’t be cancelling my subscription anytime soon 😂
Luckily it’s my day off work today, so was able to put in a few hours this morning. I cleared the prologue, and have now actually started the titular expedition. Not had many battles yet, but I like what I’ve played. The battles are very similar to the Persona games. Graphics are lovely. My only criticism - and this is nitpicking - is the music often drowns out the character voices in cutscenes. I’ve turned down the BGM in settings, but not sure it’s made much difference. Looking forward to getting proper stuck into this game over the weekend.
Going by the footage in the live reveal, it still looks more like a remake than remaster to me. Either way, will download it overnight and look forward to playing it tomorrow. Gamepass is absolutely killing it right now!
I completed it last year and enjoyed the game. I imagine it’s in an even better state now after several patches so recommended people giving it a go. It’s a bit of a downer though that after (potentially) 30 hours of play your save doesn’t carry over.
Pretty much the same it’s been for a few weeks now - AC Shadows and South of Midnight. I’m on chapter 11 on SoM so only a few chapters left, though have to admit that combat is feeling like a bit of a chore now. Hopefully I will still finish the game. I also bought Entropy survivors in the Xbox spring sale so will give that a go.
Mostly hopping between AC Shadows and South of Midnight. No idea how far I am into the story in ACS, just keep getting sidetracked and exploring the gorgeous world they’ve created. SoM is another gorgeous looking game. I’m in chapter 9 and really enjoying it. If I get time I will also try out Commandos origins.
I highly recommend people giving South of Midnight a go. I’ve been playing it in early access and am really enjoying it. I’ve had just 1 bug so far, where I had to quit the game and reload. The game looks stunning too, which makes it even more unbelievable there’s no photo mode - this game is crying out for one! Hopefully they will add it post-launch.
Just started chapter 5, and so far really enjoying it. Playing on Series X, and it looks sooooo good, some absolutely stunning environments. It’s almost criminal that there’s no photo mode! The music is great, as is the voice cast. Gradually unlocking more and more traversal abilities, though combat is nothing special.
AC Shadows, which I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with. Love exploring Japan, and the combat is great, but then I look at the objectives board with countless people I have to kill and roll my eyes. South of Midnight Really enjoying this so far. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, story is good, and the voice acting is excellent. I understand some criticisms about repetitive combat. The skill tree isn’t that big, so can imagine fighting potentially getting a little boring after several hours. We’ll see.
Also bought Hard reset redux this week in a sale (under £2!), which seems like a fun FPS.
My favourite game from Q1 of 2025 would be Avowed, really enjoyed that. Whether it’s my GOTY is unlikely as there are some big, big games still to come this year.

I didn’t like it at first but after a few days I got used to it. Good to know though that I can simply bypass it by pressing X.

Re: Rooftops And Alleys: The Parkour Game Is Off To A Flying Start On Xbox Series X|S
A lot of reviews saying the controls take some getting used to, which has put me off a bit. A trial/demo would be nice.

Doom and The Precinct for me 😀

Re: Indie Dev Defends Xbox Game Pass As Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Sells Most On PS5
I very rarely play through games more than once, so have absolutely no issue with “renting” games via Gamepass.
Re: Towerborne Release Times Revealed Ahead Of Xbox Game Pass Launch
The graphics look absolutely gorgeous, but not sure if the gameplay is for me. It’s on Gamepass, so no harm in at least trying it.
Re: All New Xbox Games Coming Out In May 2025
Definitely playing The Precinct and Doom The Dark Ages, and possibly Roadcraft.
Re: Here's How Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Is Running On Xbox Series X And S

Re: Review: South Of Midnight (Xbox) - A Fantastic, Soulful Outing From Xbox Game Studios
@BenKerry how long would you say the game is? Also, are there any side quests, or just a main one?
