Skull & Bones seems to have been around in some form for ages now, but we've not really seen any proper gameplay yet. Well, thanks to an ongoing alpha playtest, a good chunk of footage has now leaked and we have to say, it's looking rather impressive.

The roughly-five-minute clip is still up at the time of writing, and it features an extensive, narrated introduction to the world of Skull & Bones. Visually it does have shades of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, but modernised of course. However, structurally the game looks way more Sea of Thieves than the Assassin's Creed adventure it was once born from.

You'll build your ideal ship, pick up contracts, and head out to the high seas in search for all the treasure you can find. There also looks to be an extensive customisation system in this build too, along with the ability to craft materials that'll aid your adventure.

Multiplayer is also a big feature of Skull & Bones, and that's touched upon in the video too. All in all, this looks very similar to Rare's Sea of Thieves in concept, with a different style in its execution. It'll be interesting to see how the game develops in the run up to launch!
