Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 1-2)

JoakimZ

Online shooters are usually not my cup of tea, but I felt curious to try XDefiant and now I’m hooked!

I’m currently at player level 53. I have unlocked most of the Battle Pass, as well as all characters except one of the Echelon guys, and every weapon except a shotgun and a marksman rifle.

Also playing some retro games on my Miyoo Mini+, after finally getting around to installing OnionOS on it.

Re: Talking Point: What Dream Reveal Would You Like To See At The Xbox Games Showcase 2024?

JoakimZ

  • The rumoured portable Xbox is real and is revealed at this event and released later this year.
  • The rumoured Oblivion and Fallout 3 remasters are real.
  • Earth Defense Force 5 and 6 are coming to Xbox.
  • Obsidian is working on a new non-numbered Fallout or Elder Scrolls game.
  • Capcom reveals both Mega Man 12 and Mega Man X9, and one of them is released later this year.
  • Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is finally released on Xbox, shadowdrops right after the event.
  • New Sonic Racing game from Sumo Digital.
  • Castlevania DS Collection.
  • Next souls-like from From Software is revealed, be it Elden Ring 2 or something else.
  • New huge batch of backwards compatible titles.
  • Dynasty Warriors 10 and Samurai Warriors 6, with DW10 obviously dropping the boring open world concept from DW9.
  • Diablo 1 remaster.
  • More SMT on Xbox, maybe SMT 3 and 4, Strange Journey or the Devil Survivor games.
  • New single player open world action RPGs are always welcome.

Re: Starfield Is Getting A 60FPS Performance Mode On Xbox Series X

JoakimZ

The 60 fps mode should have been there from the start. I played Starfield for almost 200 hours last fall/winter, and when I read this news article my first thought was ”I should have waited for this update” because those 200 hours would have been far more enjoyable in 60 fps.

But then I corrected myself; it is not that I should have waited for the update, it is the game that absolutely should have launched with a performance mode!

I wish all games launched when they were ready…

Re: Talking Point: What Have You Bought In The Xbox Spring Sale 2024?

JoakimZ

I haven’t gone crazy this sale. So far I’ve purchased Steelrising: Bastille Edition and The Dark Pictures Anthology: Season One which contains all of the Dark Pictures titles released so far; Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes and The Devil in Me.

I’m going to take one last look through the sale tonight so I don’t miss anything.

Re: Get Ready, It's Almost Time For The Xbox Spring Sale 2024

JoakimZ

I’m hoping for good discounts on Armored Core 6, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Frontiers of Pandora, Steelrising, the two Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance remasters, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Otogi 1 and 2, Tetris Effect, and the new Lords of the Fallen game.

Also low-key hoping for good deals on Infinite Wealth and Apollo Justice Ace Attorney, but they are probably too new to get any deep discounts yet.

Re: Poll: How Many Physical Xbox Games Do You Have In Your Collection?

JoakimZ

I’ve owned several hundred physical Xbox games, but got rid of most of them since deciding on going all digital back in 2017.
I’ve kept some of them though, like a bunch of non-BC Xbox 360 titles, and a some Xbox One games that aren’t available digitally anymore, like TMNT Mutants in Manhattan and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Hoping To See Over The Next Year From Xbox?

JoakimZ

I would love some Bethesda franchise stuff to ease the wait for Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5, like a full remake of Morrowind, or the rumored remasters of Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Would also love new games from other developers set in those two universes, like they did with New Vegas. Obsidian would be the obvious choice for this, but I’m sure others such as Inxile or maybe even Playground Games could do a great job.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 30-31)

JoakimZ

As I don’t want to play Baldur’s Gate 3 until the save bug is fixed (my wife lost her saves last week, 50+ hours down the drain), I decided to check out some of Larian’s previous work.

So I’m playing Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga. The gameplay is pretty fun after you get used to the jankiness, but the voice acting is sometimes painfully bad, and the writing is not very good either (lots of sexist jokes that would’ve felt mossy back in 2009 too).

But the gameplay and exploration is fun, so I plan to finish this and then maybe move on to Divinity: Original sin, which I’m sure has aged better than this game.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Think We'll See Another Forza Horizon Game Anytime Soon?

JoakimZ

@PsBoxSwitchOwner FH4 still got updates all the way up to, and even after, the release of FH5. The last batch of achievements for FH4 dropped on December 8 2020, which is a month after the release of FH5.

So the fact that FH5 is still getting updates should not be read as a sign that FH6 is far away.

Edit: nevermind the achievement thing, FH5 was released in 2021, not 2020 my bad.

Re: Pick One: Which Is The Best Bethesda Game Studios RPG?

JoakimZ

1. Skyrim
2. Fallout 4
3. Starfield
4. Oblivion
5. Fallout 3
6. Morrowind
7. Fallout 76

I love Bethesda’s games so much!
Both Skyrim and Fallout 4 are solid 10/10 games for me, and I would give Starfield, Oblivion and Fallout 3 9/10. I haven’t played Oblivion in about 15 years, though, so it might impact my rankings if I would replay it.

Re: Avowed's Scale Will Be More 'The Outer Worlds' Than 'Skyrim', Says Obsidian

JoakimZ

@NEStalgia ”Obsidian doesn't do Bethesda sized maps. They never did.”

Obsidian made Fallout New Vegas, which had a larger map than Bethesda’s Fallout 3.

They are absolutely capable of making expansive and exploration focused games if they want to, and that’s what I hoped that Avowed would be like.
Avowed will most likely still be a fantastic game, but I was really hoping for an Elder Scrolls type of game to make the wait for ES6 a little easier.
