The Original Xbox 'S Controller' Is Being Remade By Hyperkin

Hyperkin has been on a bit of a roll in recent years when it comes to Xbox nostalgia. It all started with the company making an officially licensed 'Duke' controller for Xbox One, before the team brought back '05 with a remake of the Xbox 360 controller earlier this year. Now, they're going back to the original Xbox lineup once again.

Named the 'DuchesS', Hyperkin's new take on the original Xbox 'S Controller' has been unveiled today. Pricing and launch date plans are to be announced, but the team has provided some details on the new gamepad.

First off, it'll be available in black and white variants - both of which looks absolutely gorgeous. There's also some nice features packed in here, including 'hall effect' sticks, an Xbox Series X|S share button, a detachable connection cable and more.

As usual, this third-party pad is wired only, which is unfortunate for those of us who struggle to move away from wireless controllers these days. Still, it is officially licensed by Xbox - and the widely used USB-C connection cable is a nice touch.

We put Hyperkin's 360 pad through its paces a few months ago and came away thoroughly impressed with the team's effort. These throwback accessories really do feel like modern versions of the real thing, and it's nice to see the DuchesS complete the Xbox lineup. That white variant is lovely - we'll take one of those!
