It really has turned into a bit of a chore as to what games you can play for free on which console. Or even games you already own. I've accidentally rebought games I already own on another platform!

Guardians of the Galaxy I passed on every sale, because even though never announced I just knew it would end up on GP eventually.

I figured that's what they probably meant but the term itself "Game of the Year" can only apply to one game by its very definition.

If only one game wins the GOTY per year, how does this even make any sense? Obviously we haven't had 60 years of Game Awards.

There's a big difference between buying some small companies for a couple billion vs. a humongous one for $70 billion. Not sure why you're not grasping this concept. And for your information I own all three consoles. So when something overall is bad for the industry, I'm gonna call it out no matter who does it.

Home grown is always better. Fosters more creativity and innovation. Buying everything up dilutes that.

Instead of jumping up and down like teenage girls PureXbox, can you show some journalistic integrity and point out the pros and cons for gaming as a whole with this pending acquisition?

Sony threw rocks at Xbox with its acquisitions. This is the equivalent of MS picking up a boulder and smashing their car with it in retaliation. There is no equivalence. Maybe you need to be reminded of how insufferable Xbox fans were in the 360 days. They were the ones at the time saying Playstation had no games. How soon we forget.

That argument was in regards to lack of MS first party games. I don't know if this really applies to that argument as Activision games were always playable on third parties.

This time? Xbox has been buying up massive companies vs. Sony who buys little ones here and there. This is absolutely a monopoly by definition but nobody will stop it.

Many games had demos, but required isn't the right word.

And here I was told that every developer loves Game Pass and can't wait for their games to be on it.

If there's one complaint I have with Game Pass is that there's too much damn choice. It's another backlog of entertainment I didn't need. But that's on me for subscribing obviously and giving into the temptation.

I mean if GamePass wasn't sustainable would you expect Phil to come forth and say that? The inventor of MoviePass wouldn't do that when anyone with half a brain could do the math and tell it wasn't sustainable. GamePass is a better business model for sure but you get the idea.

And FWIW, I'm an owner of both PS and XB. I'm enjoying GamePass but I'm still skeptical that it makes a profit. Not that that has any effect on me. MS has the capital to support it though so it's safe for a long while I'd imagine.

I wish it was Vice City instead.

Sometimes the tax is warranted though because versions of the game may play better on different platforms.

It definitely benefits us the consumer no doubt. But should prices jump to say $25 a month, I have a feeling attitudes will change. I'm just still skeptical of this business model because it defies conventional logic imo. Especially the whole people are buying the games even more because they are on Game Pass, why would people essentially pay for the game twice? Developers raving tells me MS is doling out generous compensations that I would imagine won't last forever.

I guess ride the wave as long as we can.

There's no denying Game Pass is great value, but the number of articles on this site constantly with "so and so developer really likes Game Pass", etc. It's like you guys are on the take from Microsoft.

Is it coming to Xbox One? Initial announcement said only Series X and PC.

That's all well and good but MS never posts actual figures so there's no way to fact check any of this.

Like if it was the highest selling game in April, compared to what? Was it a large amount more than the second place or just a little?

Bummer. I was hoping it was an empty threat. Now I wish I would have bought more.

The message is bogus. Despite it saying it will only convert to 2 months, when you complete the redemption, it will still add 4 months. I just did this the other day with several EA Pass purchases.
