It's 'Way Too Early' For Cyberpunk 2077 To Come To Xbox Game Pass, Says CDPR

We've heard numerous rumours over the past year that CD Projekt might be looking to bring Cyberpunk 2077 to Xbox Game Pass at some point, but the company says it's "way too early" to be considering that.

As highlighted by VGC, CD Projekt mentioned during an investor Q&A earlier today that subscription models such as Game Pass and PlayStation Now are worth utilising "at a certain moment of the lifecycle of the product":

“We always consider any business opportunity, but this kind of subscription model is good at a certain moment of the lifecycle of the product, so not too early."

“Witcher 3 was for some time in a subscription [Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Now], but we have to weigh the benefit and cost each time, so we have to compare it to sales, so it’s a decision based on data. It’s way too early for Cyberpunk.”

Earlier this month, Cyberpunk 2077 made a strange appearance in an Xbox Cloud Gaming trailer which prompted CD Projekt to publicly state that "there are no Game Pass plans for Cyberpunk 2077", and there was speculation as far back as July 2020 that the game might eventually be heading to Xbox's subscription service.

It sounds like we could be waiting a good few months, if not an extra year or two before Cyberpunk 2077 finally arrives on Game Pass, then. Fortunately, if you want to pick it up, it's discounted as part of the Xbox Black Friday Sale.
