Lol.
You really think they sound like that? They're adults. They're not crying. You want to make it like they're crying, but I bet they're fine either way. They can lose abk, I'm sure. They just want more advantage and not lose it. They're doing what needs to be done. Plus they're delaying the purchase so they can get their GaaS ready. Sony really loves to crap on xbox.
Instead of having a 50m lead, they want a 80m (just a hypothetical). Either way the effects of cod will be for next gen, it's already too late for xbox to make a comeback. It seems by next year, the gap will be 2:1. Unless Starfield is like a Hogwarts, Star Wars Jedi or Elden Ring kind of deal. For now I'm expecting a c2077 from Starfield. F4 still has a lot of bugs.
For a consoler manucfacturer, it does need to sell millions.
Lots of recent sony games had no crunch (hfw and ratchet). They also bought support studios to reduce that.
Bare in mind, sequels are sequels and should be very similar to their previous title. Outside of that, yes, ofc they will make things that sell. I really don't see why is that a complaint to sony. Should be towards gamers and even then you shouldn't belittle what others play. It's not a good personality trait.
Basic huh? Maybe you should talk to someone who isn't interested in video games about that. They'll give their very honest opinion of that thought.
Ofc indies can be more experimental, it's less risk. I don't see why you find a problem.
So, a lot of the indies genres you mention have existed in multiple forms before. Again, I just don't see the innovation. You'll get tired of those genres too and then say gaming is doomed or whatever.
I want the path that makes me comfortable investing in them, and xbox does not cater to consoles or AAA and they could call it quits on consoles any day now. It seems sony is trying to make 30m consoles this fiscal year. If Xbox is by 30m by then, it's a clear lost again. I don't want to invest on unsure things, and the way xbox talks and the games they make, I just don't want to invest in them. Starfield is their most important game. Yes, that normie game in your eyes.
Seems they are on their last strings. Gamepass is a mission fail. If they put cod there, their sales will plummet.
Doubt iD will make a better game than Doom under them, and that's my most cared IP they own right now.
Some genres will never sell millions. It is what it is man. Sony has tried making the games you want, but they don't have a big pull. Ask sony Japan. You would do the same as a manager. Again, they have VR so. That's more variety that xbox will ever have.
Hollow Knight, Dead cells are 2d side scrollers, yes? They get inspired by other side scrollers, yes? Games like tunic, hades are top down view games that were inspired by top down games. I just don't see the whole "indie is doing something different" argument. People confuse that with uncommoness in AAA.
You don't care about the risk factor, but sony does. Basic what? You're really sad if playing indie games makes you feel like non basic b/superior.
Now you're calling WD crowd normies? Yisus man. Resentful much?
You think whatever you like. Indies are not that innovating in my eyes.
Because smaller games will make sony shutdown. Small games don't make consoles move. They also have something called VR. That's more innovating than indie games that use cookie cutter gameplay from retro games.
I love hollow knight, but it's just a modernized mario bros. So idk where the cookie cutter comes from because there is little risk of making games like hi rush or pentinent. It seems you forget how a company should be run.
Tlou, returnal, gt7, ratchet, uncharted, factions aren't exactly open world but okay!!!!!! You got it boss.
If Xbox was market leader, they would be doing these kind of exclusive deals. Every streaming platform does this. A lot of shows are bind to specific services 4ever.
What makes you think a trillion dollar company won't do this?
They aren't the market dealer, so they can't make these kind of deals. That's their own fault for not fostering a first party catalogue during xbox one. A company screwed up, and the other took advantge of that. What's the obvious dirt you want to find? That a company is being a company?
Microsoft office is basically a necessity now and a lot of people can't access it. They're not that nice either.
Just let abk go sony. Just make a better game than cod, is not that hard.
I like how people think they will find dirt within sony, but not with ms. Not many objectively thoughts found here. It seems the only thing to hate about sony is their "anti-consumer" practices. I rather have games that take advantage of the console instead of "pro-consumer" practices. Or rather, normal consumer practices to benefit the company you are in charge of because you need to pay your employees's family dinners.
They're both doing what they have to do for their companies. People get so confused with this. They really think Jim or Phil are actually crying in a corner. They both have enough money to retire already. They're just doing this for their companies and that means "childish" fights.
Btw. There are already documents because of this whole debate mentioning gamepass does in fact decrease sales, but that was very very obvious. Just waiting for the whole non profitable part to be said by MS themselves. Cod will not make as much money under ms, and at any time a game could replace it by anyone.
I'm just waiting for you guys to realize Phil projected his word and dreams into a lot of you and you believed him, and spreaded like it was 100% going to happen and there was no refutable facts (apart of the thousands of legit arguments made against services and how could they work/not work in gaming).
Anyways. You'll see everything once MS tries to go all in to get abk.
Lmao.
Gaming is not like all the other media and if you can't take a grasp of that and look at all the CURRENT signs that it won't work as MS wants it to work, then I have no further comment.
A service might be sucessful in a few more generations, but it won't be from MS. You heard it here first.
I don't think streaming will be as good as playing locally, especially with this current economy climate.
If it worked, and ms was the one to do it, why do they need abk?
Enjoy the offerings but I find xbox exclusives offerings very anemic. More and more I feel like they can only make good games if they have small budgets, which for me it gives me 0 games I want to play but whatever.
I don't care about the console wars, but if xbox is here to stay, they need to check themselves before the wreck themselves. Stealing publishers is not going to fix the issues they have with double A and AAA games.
Halo Infinite is not an 87. It has ended the halo franchise for good.
The rest are just indies, which it would be fine if they weren't a console maker. 10 indies could not amount how many consoles starfield could potentially move, plus people buy next gen consoles for... well, next gen games, or at least a "graphical upgrade". Hfw is crossgen and is the best looking game so far. I don't "hang out" here. There is still a big deal going on that will affect ps users if you didn't know.
I also liked Bethesda, but it seems Xbox is just going to produce double A and indie games with them so they should've been bought by someone else if that's the case. I'm going to miss doom it seems.
Gamepass can't sustain big budget games so they have to make these smaller offerings in between (also further making the development of that AAA console seller longer since they have to make these). If this is the norm, we are not getting the 360 xbox era back.
Yeah, they have games in the pipeline, microsoft's probably has more. What is he going to say? That sony's pipeline games will be better and sell better (vs cod?)
I don't think the square enix/japanese exclusives will amount to cod, wow, starcraft, diablo and overwatch numbers.
This is just... sad. There is a saying in latin countries. Can't cover the sun with one finger. Clearly this doesn't fix the first party output. 2023 would be a weak year again if Starfield doesn't hit. Everything else looks like it won't move the needle.
You're such a crybaby. Get owned by the "same" game according to you. The fact that Spider-man and God of War are the same games to you tells me you really have no clue what makes a game good or understand gameplay. Like at all. Like the rest of your losing arguments. You assume it's the same because of POV. Get a hint bro.
Xbox only has a car simulator to show off the console you upgrade to (since AAA games is why you buy a new next gen console) for 2.5 half years (Since Starfield is coming in in summer 2023 I bet). Only A CAR sim is what you have to show off the xbox series. X. A CAR GAME! I don't even have the slighest clue why fans (fanboys) make comments about companies when theirs aren't pulling up crap to compete. You don't say this to third party devs do you? They have a lot of third person narrative games too. Or nintendo making mario, zelda, mario sports, smash and pokemon yet again.
You have some weird imagination on what could happen at Sony.
Gamepass was the worst thing about the show. It's an anchor for pushing the hardware.
If Starfield was a $70 game, I wouldn't see the hard cap SOME bethesda/xbox fans are making, but since it's basically free, people let things slide and this just keeps going on and on with other games. Goty winner is out of the question even for 2023.
I said I wanted to confirm if Gamepass was an anchor that wouldn't keep pushing the hardware forward and I can't tell yet because they didn't show most of the studios games. Idk if that's a gamepass thing or xbox's horrible management. Guess we'll see next e3 (yisus). I hope I see 2024 release windows with next year's e3s (more than Just Hellblade 2) because right now the only good perceived games xbox has and will release are car sims. Call me a fanboy or not. It is what it is. Gamepass and horrible studios management will make xbox a punching bag yet again. Forza's footage was on PC too.
Now people are getting used to not buying games and now no more FF for Xbox, or wait thousands for years of persona. Unless MS buys the company lol. It's easier for Sony to convince publishers of exclusivity (I think callisto has some stuff too). I hope sf6 actually sells on xbox because I don't want to hear no crying about exclusivity going to PS.
That being said, Kojima is making the better game for Xbox and we're getting bored to death stranding 2 instead. I think Plague tale 2 and Wo Long will be good games and ARE on gamepass DAY 1, but those don't have big budgets, which budget and profit is the anchor that gamepass creates. It's a shame. They have the talent and the amount of talented studios and I wish Gamepass didn't exist and head management wasn't horrible so we could see the true potential of Xbox games.
Peace, see yall next year's e3, or at TGA if they put anything there.
I get it, but for me it seems RPG means a game with bad gameplay. C2077, Skyrim, Fallout 4, Outerworld all had very bad gameplay imo. Witcher 3 was fine with the dodges, but Geralt's abilities could've been better. Mass Effect had a generic gameplay loop too. Haven't played 2 and 3 (will soon). I like JRPGs. For some reason those have superb combat mechanics.
Yeah. I was expecting for half of the xbox studios to show something. It was better than Summer Game Fest tho. That was like a 3 or 4. I liked Plague Tale 2 but we already saw that. Wo Long is interesting. I hope it's more like Nioh or Ninja Gaiden than Dynasty Warrior. Diablo 4 looked good, but I already seen enough of it. Redfall looked ok and Starfield looked good but not great. Might walk with 2 or 3 of those if they end up being good, but that's it.
Starfield doesn't even look like a top of the class last gen game either. Well the other device has 3 next-gen only games and one next gen only remake upcoming, not to mention that horizon and gow are crossgen and look better than SF, on top of re4 remake, ff16, suicide squad, forspoken looking more dynamic and better. I mention those third party games because this isn't even a console vs console thing. They can't even keep up with big third party games neither.
I've been saying, giving away the games for basically free, makes xbox not invest so much into their games and I'm seeing it right now, unless it's car sim, which I don't think you need a big budget for those games. Not to mention the mismanagement of the studios. Going to 5 years since you bought some of these and still nothing to show for? I think that studio count is just a bluff at this point. I also hate the fact that the show is mostly a gamepass show. That makes me less exciting because I know the games that will be there will be low budget ones. It had something for everyone, but a jack of all trades when there are other studios (including third party) that are masters in those genres, it makes you look like you came off short. I am starting to feel like I'm expecting EA to come up with something good. They barely do and I feel like I should stop expecting it.
Idk about that. Horizon 2 and Red Dead 2 had no problem with graphics. Plus you can fly in Horizon 2... and on ps4.
Always online? ew. Skipping then.
Are the late game abilities just stats boosts like with skyrim and fallout 4? I don't think the gameplay is going to be very action ish. I don't like like old school rpgs because of this. I like the action ones a lot better. Like Wo Long or Elden Ring.
Yeah I guess that could make it easier. Flying in games is hard to pull off. Horizon 2 only did it at the end of the game (bummer).
Potential no longer works for me. I'm seriously disappointed with this showcase and I thought I was going to look at least 5 more AAA xbox games studios. Hellblade 2, Avowed, Everwild (if you can call it AAA), iD's next game, Indiana Jones, Compulsion Game, State of Decay, Contraband etc.
These studios might make one AAA game per gen and it might be a next gen worthy game if lucky. These studios are being mismanaged. The starfield thing is just typical Todd Howard management. I never mentioned the AI, but it didn't look that good either. I'm going to take a break from looking at xbox news and honestly just wait for their next showcase. If that one disappoints (and god forbid Starfield isn't a buggy mess), then I have no faith in xbox. At all. Too bad for all the studios they bought.
The studio is in Ukraine and has nothing to do with xbox. They just made a exclusive deal. Jesus man. The game might not even be that good anyways. No Stalker 2 wasn't the problem.
We already say Overwatch 2 (which is just Overwatch 1, basically lol) and Diablo 4 a couple of times. Forza is redundant with Horizon being the better game.
Dude, the fact is, a random state of play was better than Xbox's biggest showcase. State of play was way more exciting for me and I had no expectations for it.
If you like to give brownie points, good for you. State of play was way more exciting for me. I can't emotionally change that, and it had no first party stuff.
I really don't see the twice as many interesting games. Starfield was the only game that could compete with ff16, sf6, callisto or re4. Everything else was smaller in size.
Looks like what I expected from a Bethesda game. Potential bug filled (too many gameplay cuts) super massive game with a generic shooty shooty combat. The graphics don't look next-gen or compete with games that already released, but it really looked crisp at times. Will probably get it if it's not filled with bugs. Story, dialogue options, RPG elements seems like they will be great as usual. Too bad you can't fly the ship in the map.
Redfall (please don't be as boring as b4b), Wo Long were the things that intrigued me.
Diablo 4, Hollow Knight 2 and Plague Tale 2 looked great. Probably getting them.
Starfield doesn't look next gen, too many cuts (guessing it has a LOT of bugs), with very generic combat gameplay, but the game looks massive with a lot of options tho. Reminds me of c2077.
The rest is meh.
Idk what in the world are Xbox game studios doing? Are they sleeping or something? We only saw games that were supposed to come out this year. Forza motorsport is redundant with horizon looking way more fun to play.
The potential that the showcase had, with this conclusion, it's a complete and total letdown.
I give it a D.

Pushsquare complains about sony a lot actually. Don't see that much, here on PX. Short term memory I guess but you should check their soapboxes.

The best part of sony, lmao. Is not the worst, but they're kind of there.
They do the smaller scale games with third party devs. That's how they do it. Sifu, stray, little devil inside etc.
I would't put nintendo on this discussion because of their ps3 strong console. Their AAA look double A.

Re: Bethesda Shares An Extensive First Look At Starfield Gameplay
@NeoRatt
Yeah, I agree.
Re: Bethesda Shares An Extensive First Look At Starfield Gameplay
@NeoRatt
Re: PlayStation's Xbox Game Pass Competitor Goes Live Today In The US
Idk why is this here, but ps plus extra is worse than gamepass. I don't think services are doable. Those 20 something ps4-ps5 games is very telling.
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2022?
@S1ayeR74
The studio is in Ukraine and has nothing to do with xbox. They just made a exclusive deal. Jesus man. The game might not even be that good anyways. No Stalker 2 wasn't the problem.

Didn't get your point.

@Lavalera
Callisto is in fact, an AAA game.
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2022?
@AtlanteanMan
Very well said.
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2022?
@Lavalera
I really don't see the twice as many interesting games. Starfield was the only game that could compete with ff16, sf6, callisto or re4. Everything else was smaller in size.
Re: Bethesda Shares An Extensive First Look At Starfield Gameplay
Looks like what I expected from a Bethesda game. Potential bug filled (too many gameplay cuts) super massive game with a generic shooty shooty combat. The graphics don't look next-gen or compete with games that already released, but it really looked crisp at times. Will probably get it if it's not filled with bugs. Story, dialogue options, RPG elements seems like they will be great as usual. Too bad you can't fly the ship in the map.
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Games Showcase 2022?
Very bad showcase.

Looks like back4blood. Hope it's actually better.
