Just another reason why I prefer physical over digital. I bought this game years ago for dirt cheap and really enjoyed it. When it comes back, hopefully, it will have a 60fps patch for Series X. I'd also like to see a sequel one day.
My Series X is doing fine memory wise. 8TB external drive for OG Xbox, 360, & Xbox One games and a 2TB Seagate card for Series X/S games. Same with my PS5. 8TB external drive for PS4 games and a 2TB m.2 for PS5 games. Plus a few extra 5TB external drives from the previous gen.
I went with the PS5 version over the Series X. The Playstation version supports gyro aiming and I prefer the Dualsense Edge to the Elite Series 2 controller. I'll double dip and buy a copy for Series X when the price drops to $20.
I'm thinking about downloading Soul Hackers 2 on my Series X. Even though I have the physical copy for PS5, I haven't been able to finish it because some other game always distracts me (GOW Ragnarok, Dead Space, Hogwarts Legacy, etc.)
I have a physical copy of Rare Replay, so does that mean I get Goldeneye for free? Or is that only for the digital copy of Rare Replay? Either way, I have Game Pass, so I'll be downloading it. Series X version for achievements and Switch version for online play.
@OM1993, a shadow drop would be nice! Ghostwire definitely didn't get enough love on PS5 as I hoped it would. It's such a good game that more people should experience!
I'm surprised to see another game from Tango being announced so soon. As a big fan of Evil Within 1 & 2 and Ghostwire Tokyo, I'm excited to see anything they have to show!
Now hurry up and release Ghostwire Tokyo on Game Pass, so I have an excuse to play it again on my Series X!
So far, I've only started Persona 3 on Series X. With the way the gameplay is, I couldn't tell it's running at 120fps. I'd prefer to play these games in handheld mode on Switch, but with no physical release, the Game Pass versions will do.
Well, I'm going to try and beat Persona 3, 4, & 5 back to back to back on my Series X. At 100+ hours each, wish me luck ๐ . I'd love to have these games on Switch, though, but I'll wait for a physical version if that happens.
Alan Wake & Control sequels are higher on my list than Quantum Break, but I did enjoy QB and would like a new game to be released after those two and Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. I'm surprised QB doesn't have fps boost on Series X.
I bought the 2TB expansion card on sale for $359 for my Series X. I've waited over a year to buy one, and that's the cheapest I've seen it.
With Game Pass, the extra SSD space is nice to have. I use an 8TB external HDD for Xbox One, 360, and OG Xbox games, so I should be good for a while.
Persona 3 & 4 will keep me busy for a long time. I'll probably play Monster Hunter co-op with a buddy. Other than that, PS5 will keep me busy in January with Dead Space & DBZ Kakarot.
I'm glad I went with the PS5 version. The Dualsense controller alone makes me choose PS5 over my Series X when it comes to multiplats. Plus, the PS5 version has gyro aiming. I also choose to buy physical copies, so the 4K blu-ray PS5 version I prefer to the Xbox One/Series X blu-ray...
Seems expensive for what it does. I'm not the biggest fan of the Series X controller. It's a good controller, but I never really liked the face buttons (A, B, X, Y) I much prefer the Switch Pro controller, Dualshock 4 & Dualsense controllers. I'll probably order one of these after a price drop.
Had my Series X for almost a year and it's been good so far. Things I like are...
1) Backwards compatibility 2) fps boost for some of my all time favorite games like Gears 2 & 3 3) fast SSD load times 4) Game Pass, even though I prefer to buy physical games. GP is still a great deal!
Dislikes...
1) lack of first party exclusives 2) dated controller design(no Gyro, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, hd rumble, ect) 3)expensive proprietary SSD expansion cards, compared to the M.2 SSD used for PS5
The game looks amazing on my Series X! I'm enjoying it so far. The 40fps mode is decent. It took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the framerate, but it's pretty smooth so far. Hopefully a 60fps patch will be available soon. I'd like to add a physical copy for PS5 to my collection asap.
I usually buy multiplats on PS5 or Switch before Xbox. Mostly because I prefer the Pro Controller and Dualsense over the Series X controller, even though I like my Elite Series 2.
GamePass is great because it gives me a reason to play games I otherwise probably wouldn't (Beacon Pines for example). It's nice to play games day 1 (Prodeus, Scorn, A Plague Tale 2) and pick up physical copies when the prices go down.
A nice option to have. The startup sounds on my tv's, Series X, & PS5 don't bother me though. I like the Xbox logo lit up on the console and controller.
@UltimateOtaku91 I don't know if it's been confirmed, but I would assume adaptive triggers and haptic feedback would be taken advantage of. It would be a missed opportunity if not. I agree, spellcasting with the adaptive triggers would be nice!
Not a fan of console exclusive content. But I was going to get this on PS5 anyway. Mostly because I prefer native physical PS5 games over Xbox One/Series X versions. And Dualsense controller features (adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, ect)
Good timing! Was about to start up a new game of co-op with a buddy. We had the game since release but co-op was broken with so many disconnects, so we waited to play it. Now seems like the perfect time. I play on Series X with performance mode and VRR, dynamic 4K with up to 120fps. Looks great and runs very well! Help me prep for Dead Island 2!
That's a shame! Especially bad performance issues on Series X SMH! I was really looking forward to dusting off my Series X to play co-op with my friend. I'll pick it up when it's $20 or less. Hopefully most of the issues will be patched by then.
For $15 a month I can't complain, even though I haven't been playing my Series X as much lately. GamePass helped me in deciding to pre-order physical copies of games (Trek to Yomi, Death's Door) I probably wouldn't have played, let alone purchase. I'm really looking forward to A Plague Tale in October. Until then, I have plenty to play on Switch, PS5, and Series X with such a huge backlog. So I'm good.
I never use it for that! My consoles are for gaming! I have 2 LG C1 OLED tv's that I use to consume content on (Crunchyroll, Disney+, Hulu, ect). I also have my Galaxy phone and tablet I can use for that.
I have it on Switch and played it years ago, but not on an OLED screen. Mabey I'll download it on my Series X and play it on my LG C1 OLED. I'm sure getting all the achievements will be easy, right?
@Grumblevolcano I think PS5 is the slowest of the 3. But I agree, Switch is basically instant. Sleep mode works well with the portability of the Switch.
I don't use instant on because I have a dust cover on my Series X when it's not in use and I don't like my external hard drive on the whole time my system is off(standby). The console cold boots quick anyway. By the time I turn my TV on, it's at the dashboard. But I won't complain if it starts up quicker...
Not a big deal. Far Cry 6 is always on sale anyway. I picked up a physical copy for Xbox for $10 from Best Buy last month. It's on sale again right now for $15. Ubisoft games drop in price quickly...
I wish the resolution was a little higher for my Series X, but 60fps is very welcome indeed. Especially compared to 30fps on my PS5. Now that's it's on Game Pass, mabey I'll have a friend play co-op with me!
Fine, I'll download it for the easy achievements. My niece loves Peppa Pig, so I'd let her play it but she's a little too young to game just yet. I hope it runs at 120fps on my Series X at least lol!
I have a Series X and my SSD is always full. Mostly thanks to Game Pass. It's annoying having to constantly delete games to make room for others. On the other hand, it gives me a reason to finish some games faster than I sometimes wouldn't... I use my 8TB Seagate drive for OG Xbox, 360, & Xbox One games, which is only halfway full. I'll upgrade to the 2TB SSD around Black Friday. I just need to hold off until then...
Last year I added a 1TB M.2 storage to my PS5 but I knew it would fill up quick, so I also bought a 5TB external drive to transfer PS5 games I've finished over to it. And I have another 5TB external drive for my PS4 games.
My Switch OLED & ACNH Switch systems both have 1TB micro sd cards with a little over 200gb free. And my other Switch/Lite Systems only have 400gb sd cards so of course they have been full. I've spent so much money on storage this gen, it's ridiculous. But gaming isn't a cheap hobby lol...
I was hoping this would get a physical release. I'll definitely pick up a copy for the collection. Such a fun game, with beautiful visuals and it runs so smoothly at 120fps on my LG C1 OLED.
@HarmanSmith Exactly! To me, Sony will always deliver with the exclusives. So I have a PS5 to play those and my collection of 100+ PS4 titles and counting. I love the Dualsense, it's my favorite controller of all time. The PS5 is whisper quiet compared to my PS4 Pro, which is also a plus.
I also have a big collection of OG Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games. Which I can play most of them on my Series X. I buy most of my multiplat games for Series X, because Xbox live, VRR, ect. Over the PS5 version. Of course Game Pass is amazing too!
I have multiple Switch consoles too, including the Switch OLED. For exclusives of Mario, Zelda, Pokรฉmon, ect. Portability, couch co-op, and local wireless play are some of the reasons why I love the Switch and have multiple systems. Switch is definitely my most played console of the 3. But I have them all for different reasons. I love gaming in general, so I don't want to miss out on anything if I can help it. I buy what I want to play. So no console wars over here! Each console has it's own advantages and disadvantages! So pick what you like. And happy gaming everyone! ๐
Been wanting to play Road 96. I'm glad I waited on purchasing it! Now I'll play it on GamePass and buy a physical copy for the collection when it goes on sale!
Well that sucks. At least I can play the originals on my Series X. Can we get remakes of Bully and Manhunt 1 & 2 Rockstar? Please. The Warriors would be nice too...
I'm happy with the power of both my Series X & PS5! It's amazing to play so many games new & old at 60 to 120fps on $500 consoles!
Microsoft did a great job with backward-compatibility. The Series X is so quiet. And I prefer the memory card style SSD Xbox went with compared to the M.2 storage Sony chose.
Xbox Series X, LG C1 OLED TV, & Elite Series 2 controller is the best combo to enjoy the Series X! Now bring on the exclusives!
Looking forward to this, even though I own it for PS4. I never finished it, but I will this time on my Series X! Hopefully we get a physical release for Switch. This game would be perfect for portable play!
I'm currently playing RE7 on my Series X in High Frame Rate mode, which makes the game even more enjoyable, especially in Madhouse difficulty. Ray tracing mode is nice too. Such a huge improvement from when I played RE7 on my original Xbox One in 2017. The PS5 version runs just as well. I prefer the haptic feedback & adaptive triggers on the Dualsense controller though. Something I wish my Elite Series 2 controller had...
Here in the US I haven't noticed any controller shortages. Over the past few months I bought a Pulse red, 20th anniversary, and Elite Series 2 controller. The only one that's out of stock that I want is the Halo Elite Series 2 controller...
@Banjo- I had to get used to his accent also. But his videos really helped me with the settings with my C1 tv's for my PS5 & Series X. Make sure to check the settings on the Series X console, it has a check box for 4K, HDR, ALLM, VRR, ect. Make sure all of those have a check next to the box. The Series X settings menu will also show all the features that your TV supports. I hope this helps...
@Banjo- Assuming the TV settings are pretty much the same. This video will be able to explain the best settings to use with the Series X on an LG OLED better than I ever could...
