Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite Thing About Xbox Series X|S After Two Years?

DTfearTheBEARD

Had my Series X for almost a year and it's been good so far. Things I like are...

1) Backwards compatibility
2) fps boost for some of my all time favorite games like Gears 2 & 3
3) fast SSD load times
4) Game Pass, even though I prefer to buy physical games. GP is still a great deal!

Dislikes...

1) lack of first party exclusives
2) dated controller design(no Gyro, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, hd rumble, ect)
3)expensive proprietary SSD expansion cards, compared to the M.2 SSD used for PS5

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Actually Buy Xbox Game Pass Games?

DTfearTheBEARD

I usually buy multiplats on PS5 or Switch before Xbox. Mostly because I prefer the Pro Controller and Dualsense over the Series X controller, even though I like my Elite Series 2.

GamePass is great because it gives me a reason to play games I otherwise probably wouldn't (Beacon Pines for example). It's nice to play games day 1 (Prodeus, Scorn, A Plague Tale 2) and pick up physical copies when the prices go down.

Re: Dying Light 2 Gets 'Amazing' Performance Update On Xbox Series X And S

DTfearTheBEARD

Good timing! Was about to start up a new game of co-op with a buddy. We had the game since release but co-op was broken with so many disconnects, so we waited to play it. Now seems like the perfect time. I play on Series X with performance mode and VRR, dynamic 4K with up to 120fps. Looks great and runs very well! Help me prep for Dead Island 2!

Re: Xbox Game Pass Is Hurting Right Now, But Larger Forces Are At Play

DTfearTheBEARD

For $15 a month I can't complain, even though I haven't been playing my Series X as much lately. GamePass helped me in deciding to pre-order physical copies of games (Trek to Yomi, Death's Door) I probably wouldn't have played, let alone purchase. I'm really looking forward to A Plague Tale in October. Until then, I have plenty to play on Switch, PS5, and Series X with such a huge backlog. So I'm good.

Re: Your Xbox Series X|S Will Soon 'Boot Up' Even Faster

DTfearTheBEARD

I don't use instant on because I have a dust cover on my Series X when it's not in use and I don't like my external hard drive on the whole time my system is off(standby). The console cold boots quick anyway. By the time I turn my TV on, it's at the dashboard. But I won't complain if it starts up quicker...

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Series S Owners, How's Your Storage Looking In 2022?

DTfearTheBEARD

I have a Series X and my SSD is always full. Mostly thanks to Game Pass. It's annoying having to constantly delete games to make room for others. On the other hand, it gives me a reason to finish some games faster than I sometimes wouldn't... I use my 8TB Seagate drive for OG Xbox, 360, & Xbox One games, which is only halfway full. I'll upgrade to the 2TB SSD around Black Friday. I just need to hold off until then...

Last year I added a 1TB M.2 storage to my PS5 but I knew it would fill up quick, so I also bought a 5TB external drive to transfer PS5 games I've finished over to it. And I have another 5TB external drive for my PS4 games.

My Switch OLED & ACNH Switch systems both have 1TB micro sd cards with a little over 200gb free. And my other Switch/Lite Systems only have 400gb sd cards so of course they have been full. I've spent so much money on storage this gen, it's ridiculous. But gaming isn't a cheap hobby lol...

Re: Digital Foundry Host Says Xbox Series X Wins Most Console Comparisons

DTfearTheBEARD

@HarmanSmith Exactly! To me, Sony will always deliver with the exclusives. So I have a PS5 to play those and my collection of 100+ PS4 titles and counting. I love the Dualsense, it's my favorite controller of all time. The PS5 is whisper quiet compared to my PS4 Pro, which is also a plus.

I also have a big collection of OG Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games. Which I can play most of them on my Series X. I buy most of my multiplat games for Series X, because Xbox live, VRR, ect. Over the PS5 version. Of course Game Pass is amazing too!

I have multiple Switch consoles too, including the Switch OLED. For exclusives of Mario, Zelda, Pokรฉmon, ect. Portability, couch co-op, and local wireless play are some of the reasons why I love the Switch and have multiple systems.
Switch is definitely my most played console of the 3. But I have them all for different reasons. I love gaming in general, so I don't want to miss out on anything if I can help it. I buy what I want to play. So no console wars over here! Each console has it's own advantages and disadvantages! So pick what you like. And happy gaming everyone! ๐Ÿ˜€

Re: Digital Foundry Host Says Xbox Series X Wins Most Console Comparisons

DTfearTheBEARD

I'm happy with the power of both my Series X & PS5!
It's amazing to play so many games new & old at 60 to 120fps on $500 consoles!

Microsoft did a great job with backward-compatibility. The Series X is so quiet. And I prefer the memory card style SSD Xbox went with compared to the M.2 storage Sony chose.

Xbox Series X, LG C1 OLED TV, & Elite Series 2 controller is the best combo to enjoy the Series X!
Now bring on the exclusives!

Re: Hands On: Resident Evil 7 Is Impressive All Around On Xbox Series X

DTfearTheBEARD

I'm currently playing RE7 on my Series X in High Frame Rate mode, which makes the game even more enjoyable, especially in Madhouse difficulty. Ray tracing mode is nice too. Such a huge improvement from when I played RE7 on my original Xbox One in 2017. The PS5 version runs just as well. I prefer the haptic feedback & adaptive triggers on the Dualsense controller though. Something I wish my Elite Series 2 controller had...

Re: Hands On: Are The Resident Evil Remakes Worth Playing Again On Xbox Series X|S?

DTfearTheBEARD

@Banjo- I had to get used to his accent also. But his videos really helped me with the settings with my C1 tv's for my PS5 & Series X. Make sure to check the settings on the Series X console, it has a check box for 4K, HDR, ALLM, VRR, ect. Make sure all of those have a check next to the box. The Series X settings menu will also show all the features that your TV supports. I hope this helps...
