not only it is pretty clear xbox doesn't care about selling any consoles but when RAM prices go down again, you will not see the xbox prices lowered.

So not only they have a poor YoY but they are not making the expected profit. 2026 will likely be a tough year for them... esp if the Black Ops 7 doesn't do well. GTA 6 could boost hardware sales but doesn't look like they are ready for it.

Man... they have to fix their PR and stop making these statements. You can't believe anything they say anymore. They have made countless claims in the past but still closed studios, increased gp, cancelled games...

Not surprising but the price increase on ultimate might make me consider downgrading. The math is not that simple anymore as to play couple gp games and make your subscription worth. That ultimate price is so high that the gap from moving your games to PS5 is not that much of a deal anymore.

Ubisoft has read the feedback from previous Far Cry games and they know that repetitive missions, never ending quests were not well received. Sounds like they have NO plans to fix this and instead are going to make these boring quests and missions into multiplayer.

This would be the 3rd controller model with official xbox wireless support. Can't wait to get a deal on one of these.

Batteries are good to keep your controller in the long term but until they don't change the sticks to Hall or TMR, there is no point in keeping a controller for a long time.

A new game from rare

I loved Mirage - I get the critics of the gameplay but the story and setting are outstanding.

I already imagine the jokes if they sell a limited edition console for $100 more... Inferior specs but same price as a ps 5 pro

Sad anniversary for Rare since they lost ppl and the only other IP they have been working on.

Starfield but honestly Halo Infinite on PS5 & Switch 2 could give a new life to that game. My other guess is SoT on switch 2

Need to remember that this game has had many ups and downs on steam already, Thomas probably knows this one is not a banger like expedition 33 in terms of sales. Prob doesn't expect too many sales total and Xbox suddenly becomes a much smaller number. Add to it cost of dev... unless xbox is willing to invest in game or do a game pass deal, they are not going to rush it.

Rare keeps changing seasons, models, teams but beside some critical issues like cheating, the impact in the game doesn't feel that great. We never had any map changes or any major game update. SoT is great but it needs more than season to stay interesting imo

Wondering if publishers could publish a shorter game version on game pass and sell a DLC for a more complete game. DLCs for recent GP versions only have cosmetics and other useless items, been buying them to support the games but not ideal model.

@Kaloudz add the recent stories around Concord, Marathon and other new multiplayer franchises, it makes Everwild a high risk item but personally, I was really hoping that Rare could come up with something new as fun as SoT. @grackler don't blame Phil, the ex-Rare CEO has been head of all Xbox Game Studios but something hasn't been working at Rare

I'm a bit worried about the level of details they show in the tech demo. Not sure it makes sense for a game. Are we going to get only a few dense locations because they require a lot of crafting?

I sincerely hope they decided to stream the games because of legal issues... not technology.

It will be expensive and you won't be able to play your xbox console games... likely include win 11 updates for the xbox app to make it more friendly for this format

I heard many reviewers talk about the authentic experience in SOM but only until you play the game you see how serious they were in re-creating the environment and story. The houses have a lot of historical details, art and elements from the south, also the soundtrack and voice acting are top notch. Fingers crossed that another one like that will be greenlit. SOM is a gem that makes game pass worthwhile.

@Cakefish I'd be shocked if this resolves the "Play Anywhere" issue. I bet that most PC games have an exclusive publishing agreement with Steam so no Xbox store there. Xbox prob just going to throw a Xbox ui to their PC titles.

Not sure why everybody is so impressed by the current footage. I'm concerned about the gameplay loop. Haven't seen a single dialog interaction, I am not familiar with the Fable game in general but not a lot of RPG elements so far in the trailers.

@Quickbeamx I finished this one. Granted there is some Ubisoft branded repetitiveness but I had a blast and loved the setting and story. I do recommend it

In all this console war stuff, people forget that by now, most Switch and PS5 users have a game library worth 10x (or more) the cost of the console. Phil knows that the number of users that are willing to convert platform is extremely low.

@HonestHick AI upgrades will require tensor cores in the SOC like the nvidia 50 series. I still can't figure out what the main incentive to upgrade is going to be for majority of users. Given the current install base, I do not foresee any games targeting only next gen before what... like 2027?

I hope for Obsidian that it will be a high score but that would create a real timing dilemma because I'm still early in KCD2. But looking forward to my steel book version

A shame that Halo Infinite is not coming before MCC - that game could really use a larger use base... just like SOT. I'd be shocked if Halo moves any Xbox console sales today. Most people already are set on a system, they invested maybe 10x or more the value of the console in games, getting them to switch platform doesn't make sense anymore.

Irony would be to see Black Myth Wukong announced on the switch 2. This is an odd comment though because the tech stack is so different on Series S vs Switch - except artifacts.

Don't see the point of complaining about TGA, awards represents 1% of total show time. December games are to be forever forgotten because of non sensical timelines, nominations rules change to accommodate trends, no guidelines to vote are sent to journalists and voting categories do not make sense.

Pretty sure that Square Enix has made decisions based on the financial benefits of porting games to Xbox. The costs of first party Sony games are so high that I'd be surprised they are really not thinking of adding couple millions sales.

This is the only real way that every bento box is a xbox. Too many big games are missing from this feature but couple huge ones do have that feature: Like a Dragon + Metaphor Refantazio. This makes it worth buying them from xbox instead of steam

@Medic_alert that is correct but facts are 1) publisher has been quiet about xbox status 2) game is selling a lot of hardware in China, there would be major benefits for Sony 3) this is no indy studio, highly unlikely the delay is from the xbox side

@DEATH2SONY if they were to do a sega, they would lose forever the 20-30% cut on games. Feels like a poor long term plan.

@Medic_alert if this was a deal, it was a shady one. There would not be much evidence. I think there was a memory leak that prevented certification on xbox, for a game like that, feels like something intentional.

There is not much to debate until xbox doesn't nail a good release. I'd be surprised that Xbox doesn't do something to get back to Sony and the Black Myth Wukong situation which probably cost them a real market loss in China... and not because of the 0.001% of "fans" on twitter

Microsoft has already been working on a new generic DirectSR framework for upscaling, I would be surprised if the next xbox doesn't have NPU chips to handle a temporal version like DLSS. This has to be the main innovation that we are going to be looking at for next gen hardware.

Indy is one of the games I'm the most looking forward to this year - I can't imagine this date slipping up, would hurt their holiday sales significantly.
