Upcoming action-RPG Phantom Blade Zero has quite a bit of hype behind it, especially now that it has attached a September 2026 release date to proceedings. However, that date is just for PS5 and PC - and it now appears there's a one-year exclusivity window in place with Sony and PlayStation.
Yep, despite developer S-GAME claiming otherwise way back in 2023 (to be fair, the team did say "for now" back then), Phantom Blade Zero's latest trailer confirms one-year exclusivity with PS5. That confirmation pops up at the end of the trailer via this splash screen, which notes that no other consoles will get the game for at least 12 months:

It's been a bit of a controversial road to release for Phantom Blade Zero, which included a rogue response from one developer in 2024 when asked about an Xbox version of the title. This whole saga has shades of Black Myth: Wukong and its own drama about it, to be honest - but at least in this case we finally have some real confirmation of an exclusivity window being in place.
We'll link to some of those older Phantom Blade Zero stories down below if you're curious about what's been said regarding an Xbox version in the past - but yep, it's now worth noting that Sony itself has confirmed one year of exclusivity, as it and S-GAME plot an initial September 2026 release for the action-RPG.
