I didn't realise Stray is only 25 quid, and 20 if you pre-order. Looking forward to playing that now, as anything more would probably be a bit steep for something I'll only play once.
Atlas Fallen sounds interesting. Might bite on that depending on the reviews.
Great to see a decade old game getting an X|S bump. Seems like the game has had an impressive life-span, fingers crossed for a sequel in the near future.
I hope this is true, largely so PC gamers can play this masterpiece of a game. As others have said, it holds up quite well on Series. Although a 60fps mode would make it an instant buy for me.
Thought it was a bit scummy to charge for early access before the official launch going F2P. The game looks fun, but I'd much rather have had a standard priced fully packaged game, with DLC packs for additional characters.
Grabbed The Callisto Protocol in the sale, so I'll probably start that after finishing off my replay of Bioshock 2. Bramble looks cool as far as short adventure experiences go, might try that too.
Sucks, but that's the nature of AAA development cycles for games on that scale these days. As a result I find it impossible to get excited about anything until it's near. Hype for Starfield only kicked in for me at the direct.
Game Pass has sort of transformed my tastes and the way that I consume games, so I don't see myself walking away. I will say I try to keep my monthly subscriptions to essentials though, so I'm hoping I'll be able to do a three year conversion again before that trick goes away.
I know I'm really late to it, but I'm going to finally get started on Doom Eternal's DLC. Also thinking about jumping into Cassette Beasts for something a bit more chilled on the side.
Considering the protagonist was sitting on Ayoade's broken glasses at the end of the trailer, I wonder whether there might be multiple actors popping up in the game and across future trailers - highlighting different folklore character roles. If done well, it could create a lot of additional interest in Fable going forward.
Wow, thought that was an excellent showcase on the whole. People can be knit-picky about the level of gameplay we saw versus in-engine and whatever, but in terms of a line-up that was extremely good stuff in both first and third party terms. 5/5 from me.
Planet of Lana was amazing, although I wish it was longer and more challenging. Really enjoyed Ravenlok, which was a nice and simple experience. But I got to give it to Chicory, stunning visuals and music, a charming world and great gameplay ideas. Didn't know a thing about it before it arrived on Game Pass.
@TakeItEasy Thanks, I didn't know that. The interview Schafer did in Feb of last year gave me the impression they wanted to explore other projects. He talked about wanting to do original stuff 'for the next phase,' but Psychonauts 3 seems more plausible if the studio has expanded to that extent.
It was a great experience. I just wish it was a few hours longer, with more challenge. Gameplay being a breeze works for a three hour experience, but I would have liked a longer experience with more stuff that really tests you.
Loved those AKI and Yukes games back in the day. By modern standards I'm expecting this game to be a bit basic in terms of its feature-set, but if it feels like No Mercy I'm in. Nice to see something more arcadey as an alternative to WWE 2K.
It's probably most likely to be older titles. Good to see their back-catalogue being added into Game Pass. I was surprised by Iron Brigade, and plan on trying out Massive Chalice.
Great review. I love me a cinematic puzzle platformer, so I'm pretty sure this is straight up my street. Not always a huge fan of companion based mechanics, but sounds like it works well here.
I didn't like Ravenlok as much as Echo Generation which had more depth with its turn based battles imo, but I do love a short, easy and vibrant experience. Especially when it's on Game Pass. Nice to see the game getting its flowers.
I'm going play it purely on the basis of how much I enjoyed Echo Generation which I randomly played last year. Nice vibe and aesthetic, simple and short. Honestly sometimes that's nice.
Was very intrigued by it when it was first showed off. But the reports of performance issues and bugs made it an easy decision to put it on the backburner with so many big games coming out.
Feel like a broken record saying this, but it sounds like it could have done with a couple more months polishing.
I'm not exactly 'put off' by a 30fps experience, it's just I can't remember the last time I played a first-person shooter at that frame rate. So I'll be jumping in and hoping for the best, fingers crossed it's a good time.
I bought into the eco-system this gen on the understanding that first party offerings would be landing day one on Game Pass. It would still be a great service and I know this is all hypothetical, but I couldn't see myself re-subscribing if they pulled the rug from under me.
I don't have much interest in the genre but downloaded it on a whim. Seems accessible enough, and a nice extension of Minecraft franchises, but nothing too impressive.
Either launch it as F2P, or make it a paid experience. Was kind of interested in this game until I realised they want you to buy into a $30 minimum 'founder's pack.' Seems like having your cake and eating it too.
Struggling to think of many new FPS games that run at 30fps in 2023. It's not the end of the world, but a 60fps performance mode seems like a pretty standard staple to me. My interest in this game is fairly low either way, but I do think the game should be delayed if it can't ship without a 60fps mode.
Seems like they've only half-ripped off the bandaid by being vague about when a 60fps mode will be added. If we're talking a couple of weeks that's not too bad, if we're talking months then I'm not sure about that.
Finishing off Sifu (dropped down to easy mode to get through it.) Going for S+ Pro run on Resident Evil 4 Remake. Starting Ghostwire: Tokyo. Maybe buying Dredge.
Finished RE4 Remake, made progress on Metroid Prime Remastered, now chipping away at a Plague Tale Requiem. Might check out Horizon 5 Rally Adventure later too.
Very tough. The original RE4 was my real entry point into the franchise, so I don't have the same love for the earlier games. My top five: 1) RE4 OG (over remake b/c of how significant it was) 2) RE4 Remake 3) RE 2 Remake 4) RE7 5) Village

Meaningless cosmetic or otherwise, I objective to premise of this.
Re: Xbox's New Starfield Controller Includes A Special Dynamic Background For Series X|S
Always a fan of a relatively minimal dynamic background. The controller looks incredible, but I'll probably be resisting the urge.
That said, if there was an elite version of this design..

As someone who never saw the incentive to 'play' Flight Sim, I am intrigued by this.

Re: Soapbox: Go Buy The Best Console Version Of Far Cry 3 While It's Cheap On Xbox
Vaas is still the best Far Cry villain of all time. I'm half way through Far Cry 6 but very tempted to drop it and go back to this.

Wholesome stuff. Also, pack it up boys. GOTY has already been decided. I joke, but it's really difficult to see anything squeezing it out.

This may be a stupid question, but are all the Far Cry 5 DLCs and New Dawn also X|S optimised now?
Re: Xbox Co-Creator Reveals He Talked To Microsoft About Classic Console Idea
@themightyant totally agree. While there'd be a novelty to a mini-style OG Xbox, adding to the BC program would be a much more consumer friendly move.
But that's me, I still have an OG Xbox going strong.
