Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 1-2)

Switch - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! Raising my hype levels for Tears of the Kingdom. May 12th can't come soon enough after watching that gameplay trailer.

3DS - Strangely enough, Pokemon Dream Radar so I can get a Porygon (my favourite Pokemon) to transfer to my Black 2 game.

PS5 - Playing through more of Resident Evil 4. Also, GTA Online later tonight with friends!

PC - Starting a new game with friends later, Sea of Thieves!

Playing Far Cry 5 mostly.

I have a love hate relationship with this game. Love the world building even more so with 4K 60 FPS, its a joy to explore and see what there is to see.

I hate with a passion that the story gets shoved down your throat and it forces you into unavoidable story sequences no matter your actions. That just seems so out of step with the freedom the rest of the game gives you and I find it pretty jarring to say the least.

I uninstalled Forza Horizon 5 after doing all I wanted to with the game and its dlc. I did download Forza Horizon 4 and intend to finish all the bits I didn't get around to. Maybe that will tide me over till Motorsport is released.

Actually no Sea of Thieves this week. Not sure if I said this last week but we’ve gone off it since the new season. Just not interested in the keep your head on a swivel world events.

I am still playing Halo Infinite. Up to lvl60 in the season 3 pass.

Also playing Pirate Outlaws. If you love Slay the Spire this might scratch that itch.

Finally I started Breath of the Wild for the first time in 5 years. Not sure if I’ll stick with it. My wife has been playing Immortals Fenyx Rising so I wanted to play the game that clearly inspired it.

Almost done with Persona 5 Strikers on Switch and I’m gonna play Sonic The Hedgehog 1 and 2 on NSO next and Castlevania 1.

Was also debating on finally playing Uncharted 3 on Ps5.

Finally I’m gonna start Final Fantasy IX as soon as possible because I’m really in the mood for Final Fantasy.

@BBB You don't like magic darts shooting you through vehicles, or at several thousand feet flying aircraft, or when you can't see a single enemy within miles, and forcing you into drugged out cutscenes?

On PS5 i will be playing Hogwarts Legacy and Scars Above. Also been playing a lot of The Game of Life 2 with the misses so I might buy the DLC.

On switch I have finally completed Fire Emblem Engage and thought it was a much better game than Three Houses. I will now be concentrating on Metroid Prime Remastered and Harvestella until May 12th. And some Splatoon 3 doing the latest splatfest.

On xbox I have re subscribed to gamepass so I think I will give Atomic Heart a try.

switch - still chipping away at octopath Traveler II as I am closing chapter 2s
Xbox - started the game club month's Gears of War (I am playing ultimate version) and continuing Kingdom hearts re: chain of memories (still early on and not get sold on the gameplay but let's see how it goes)

This weekend I won’t be playing Octopath Traveler II because I finally beat the game. What an incredible game and even more fantastic experience. To me, the game belongs in the pantheon of the all-time great JRPGs. It will hands down go in my top 10 of all time in terms of RPGs.

My main game I’ll be focusing on is Resident Evil 4 Remake (Xbox Series X). I’m roughly halfway through the game and it has been wonderful so far.

What I’m impressed by the most is its level design and pacing. As a kid playing originally, these two things never interested me. Now that I’m older and can appreciate the finer things — I see how much difference the little things can make.

The level design is reminiscent of From Software’s Dark Souls series and beyond. Everything interconnects and it’s fascinating to see how it all comes together in an incredible layout, particularly with the castle. And the developers knew how to balance action and horror as you make your way through this backcountry side and ominous castle.There’s never too much of one or the other.

Overall, it’s a superb remake that I find to be essential. I’m glad the fond memories I have playing this game in the GameCube and PS2 era aren’t sullied — in fact, they are probably enhanced.

The last game I’ll be playing is Sifu (Xbox Series X). I recently watched John Wick 4, which is an amazing movie with some of the best fight scenes I’ve ever witnessed on film, so I’ve been in a brawler mood. And yes, I’ve watched The Raid 1 & 2 and The Man From Nowhere.

I played it originally on the PS5 and it quickly earned a spot in one of my favorite PlayStation games, but I never completed it due to Elden Ring releasing shortly thereafter. Now that it has come to Xbox, I decided to support developer Sloclap and purchase the game on this platform. It’s just as good as I remember, if not better.

Trying to plod my way through RE4 remake (I know, I know). Enjoying the new FH5 DLC and playing MLB The Show as well.

Tried to play forza DLC but not well so been a bit rubbish. Much better than hot wheels and good to have arcade rally rather than sim based.

Forza 5 Rally Adventure - its just what me and the misses wanted, so its mainly xbox this weekend.
I've become a little addicted to Raiden V on the playstation, so I might sneak a few games of that in this weekend too...

I was playing Forza Rally...but completed it after 6 hours...so I am bored again now lol....back to CoD and Wolcen then

I’m playing Octopath Traveller 2 still. Getting to the end chapters and still enjoying it.

Also going to try Dredge.

Playing disc golf this weekend. Played Diablo 4 for 8 hours a day the last 2 weekends. Need to touch grass

Hitman GO (Windows Phone) - Nearly 3/4 of the way through the game now.

Metroid Prime remastered

I finished Spirits of Xanadu this morning. It was okay. Based on descriptions and skimming reviews, I thought it would have more of an imm-sim feel, but it really doesn't. While there are some vague similarities to games like System Shock, Prey, and Soma, the game is pretty basic and shallow. It was only about 2 hours long and I only paid a couple bucks for it, so, no big loss.

I'm not sure what to play next. I'll probably try to finish up Atomic Heart, but we'll see. That insane April Fools joke but also actually real The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog is peaking my curiosity.

I think the guys and I are going to play some Sea of Thieves tonight as it's been quite a while, but we may end up going through a bit more of Gears 5. I wish my one friend had a PC so we could try out some Midnight Ghost Hunt as the early access version is free on Steam this weekend. Oh well.

I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition..

I’m playing Ni No Kuni II, FH5 A Rally adventure (which looks absolutely GORGEOUS!), and some Anno 1800. Even though I played the free trial of Anno on PS5, I decided to buy it on Xbox because of “quick resume”. I also bought Tales of arise on PS5 in the Spring sale, though not sure I’ll have time for that yet.

Sheepo, phantom Hourglass, dmc4 se, and ill finally start gears of War.

I'm playing board games with my wife and kids for a change, Saturday now .

Series S: Halo Infinite (Season 3 is so good!)
Switch: Nothing (waiting for Fire Emblem Engage DLC and TotK)
PS5: Hogwarts Legacy. (I'm also considering buying Stray and/or Tchia.)

Good DLC but I do miss some new rally cars in the likes of the CMR rally car. In the Open Racing (played a few hours) there are no real rally cars leading the races. I understand it's arcady but It's a bit weird that Ferrari & Mercedes, ... sports cars are in front of the pack. There's even more chaos in those races than before. I really do miss Lancia cars in this DLC

Finished RE4 Remake, made progress on Metroid Prime Remastered, now chipping away at a Plague Tale Requiem. Might check out Horizon 5 Rally Adventure later too.

Regarding difficulty of Wo Long:
As long as you do not rush directly to boss fight on each map and keep your Morale at highest level, you can easily say that "it is very enjoyable game"... Just keep leveling up and slowly explore on maps. You'll spend very good time as your fighter becomes stronger and stronger not to mention new amazing move sets and spells...
You do not need to kill the first boss. There will be a message pop up on the screen saying "Press Triangle + Circle" so you may easily pass to the next level... If you have any grudge agains the first boss, you are always welcome to come back and exterminate him when you are stronger (at higher level)..
So... It is very easy...

@Kaloudz It is not possible to compare Wo long with Elden Ring, because it is pretty much "apple to orange" situations...2 different type & style games... It is certanly worth to play both... No need to give up on either...
Both have a place on Souls Genre...
