Another 11 Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (December 15)

Microsoft has confirmed the first batch of games that will leave Xbox Game Pass in December 2022, and it's a pretty painful set of departures, featuring the likes of Dragon Quest XI, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Firewatch, Lake and others.

Here's the full list of titles leaving Xbox Game Pass in early December 2022:

As always, Xbox Game Pass members can get a discount of (at least) 20% on these titles before they're removed.

Fortunately, we're also being treated to a lot of games coming soon to Xbox Game Pass in December 2022, including the fantastic addition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, along with the day one launch of High on Life.

Glad I bought Dragon Quest XI S in a sale on Xbox on top of having the Switch cartridge. Honestly the best JRPG on the console imo, shame to see it leave gamepass, but it doesn’t surprise me.

I played through Firewatch and checked out Aliens (a bit). Nothing else here was on my short list, although I am sure there was some good stuff. For me, more excited about High on Life and Eastward than disappointed about what is leaving

Oh damn, I've been meaning to play Lake forever. Good reason to start this weekend.

And yeah, I feel pretty much the same, @RentedPanda. Can't wait for those two in particular!

Absolutely devastated. Such a great list of games. The biggest miss of all 'Race with Ryan'.

We will all cry over that one I'm sure.

@Akropolon Also need to play Lake. HowLongToBeat has it at 6-8 hours so should be doable.

Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit has also been downloaded and is another 6-8 hours. Will be harder to do do both! But will try.

Never did get to Lake. My backlog and other available games are just too big. Oh well.

Having too many interesting games to play is a good problem to have!

Dragon Quest has been one of those games I want to play but keep throwing in the back of my backlog. I guess it doesn’t matter much that it’s leaving because I probably won’t get around to playing it for another year or so lol.

It's not that I don't own DQXI on both XB and NSW, but....darnit I never did the third act while I could cloud stream it!

I love old school jrpgs, mostly from nes, snes, ps1. I don't like most of the big modern jrpgs, like Persona 5 recently bored me to tears, tried it for about 7 hours and felt like I was still in the tutorial. Ni No Kuni was interesting but the combat sucked, Kingdom Hearts is just a mess, Final Fantasy hasn't been good since 9, 10 was okay and was the last one I finished. 12, 13 and 15 were god awful, have zero interest in FF7R, despite FF7 is maybe my GOAT.

DQ11 is the rare exception. Hadn't played DQ since 5 on my nephew's DS, and 11 lived up to and exceeded my expectations. It's really great to see at least one classic jrpg series stick to its roots and still be able to deliver a great adventure like DQ11. Probably not enough time to finish it in 2 weeks, but definitely try it out to see if you want to grab it on discount before it leaves. It's a great game.

Honorable mention to Yakuza Like a Dragon, which is the only Yakuza I've played, and inspired by DQ, was a great traditional jrpg.

Lake and Firewatch both great games with good stories - the former very chill and the latter a bit more tense but still relaxing

I'm an Xcloud -only user so i can't buy the game to play it later

I loved Lake. In fact, I need to take this time to pick it up to keep. Such a relaxing game and I love the movie references in the video rental store.

Guess I will go back to the Switch version of DQXI. Good thing I already caught up to where I left off on the Switch version as a good recap (I was only about a dozen hours into the Switch version anyways).

Always kept putting off Dragon Quest and Lake. Looks like I'll not get a chance now. Maybe Lake but not Dragon Quest. Ah well

Oof losing Firewatch, Record of Lodoss War, and DQ11 are huge losses. Some of the best games on Gamepass. Yikes. This has been a rough year for the service.

I've been eyeing up Dragon Quest XI since it released but didn't even finish the demo. The only JRPGs I've played start to finish are Final Fantasy VIII and Chrono Trigger. (+Pokemon Blue and Ruby but I don't think they count). Not sure why the two I played worked for me where others didn't.

Lodosd war deedlit is a great game, I have that on steam & switch, I really recommend this one to anyone that like metroidvania 😃

Nooo, not Lake! I only just discovered it. Such a relaxing game to play when I need a break from more intense complicated games.

I'm glad they didn't remove The Gunk at least, I completed it just last week just in case. I've already finished Aliens Fireteam Elite and Firewatch so this ain't so bad.
