Re: Two EA Racers Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass Ultimate In October

Acurisur

@themightyant Not the same thing. RDR2 and RDR have different stories. Hot Wheels in FH3 and FH5 are the same except Playground Games went back and actually played Hot Wheels in FH3 to work out how they would improve it in FH5.

So no, it's not a weird take. It's a logical take. What you've basically said is why drive a car when a horse and cart does the same thing.

As I said in my original comment, it was great for it's time. But with Hot Wheels now available in FH5 it's basically obsolete.

Re: Two EA Racers Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass Ultimate In October

@NEStalgia Project Cars isn't Codemasters content. It's a Slightly Mad Studios game. EA bought Slightly Mad Studios before they bought Codemasters.

Right now they own more racing game studios than anyone else. Criterion, Ghost Games, Slightly Mad Studios and Codemasters are all EA studios.

Re: Split/Second Dev: The Game Doesn't Need A Remaster, It's Still Great On Xbox

Acurisur

@Quasicat Agree to disagree on the game looking "amazing" on Xbox Series X. On my 55 inch 4k HDR tv it doesn't look amazing at all, but then the bigger your 4k display is, the more pixelated a game that's rendered at a lower resolution will be.

I bought it in a sale recently based on reviews from people wearing rose tinted glasses because back in the day on a 1080p tv this game would have looked the shiz. Not anymore sadly. At least, not on my tv.

Re: Soapbox: Forza Horizon Is Spinning Its Wheels, So Let's Bring Back The Best Racer On Xbox

Acurisur

Project Gotham Racing never grabbed my attention. Played all of them a bunch on a buddy's Xbox back in the day, it was fine for it's time but I'm not clamouring for it to come back.

The original Forza Horizon came into existence as a direct result of Xbox's complete lack of interest in reviving PGR in the first place, so I'd say Xbox has moved on. The only slight glimmer of hope I can see is with the impending close of the Activision acquisition, with all those extra developers coming on board they could form a new studio to develop a PGR reboot.

But that's very much pie in the sky stuff. Unless a lot of people start asking for a PGR reboot, and when I say a lot I mean a lot more people than what we have on this website, then I can't see Xbox spending millions reviving a franchise that's been dormant for 15 years.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Series S Owners, Are You Happy You Skipped Series X?

Acurisur

I think the Series S is great for some people, especially if the PS5 is your main console but you want to play the Xbox 1st party stuff, or you're a budget gamer.

I did consider the Series S very seriously but in the end I waited until I could get a Series X as it suits me better for a few reasons : I have a physical collection of Xbox games that I still want to play every now and again, I wanted more internal storage and I own a large 4k tv which is better suited to the Series X.

Re: Xbox Game Pass 'Family Plan' Begins Public Testing

Acurisur

@Dezzy70 Umm yes, you are.

The Family plan allows other Xbox users who have their own Xbox account to use your Game Pass without having to switch to your Xbox account. No one earns achievements or reward points using your account.

It also means you can potentially share your Game Pass with friends as long as they live in the same country as you. Again, without them having to switch to your Xbox account.

Re: Another Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (August 15)

Acurisur

@themightyant Game Pass always gives you at least 2 weeks notice that games are being removed, and let's face it, if a game has been there for an entire year and you've not played it you probably weren't that interested to begin with.

I did finish Raji before it left, it's literally only 5 hours long. Did it in one sitting over the weekend.

The only game out of this lot that I had any interest in was Train Sim World 2 which I bought in a recent sale, got the Deluxe Edition for about £8

Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (July 19)

Acurisur

@Raffles I also chose to play Cyberpunk and Forza Horizon 5 on PC for the reasons you mentioned, although I dabble with Forza occasionally on my Xbox Series X if I'm just doing drift zones or other non race based events. I tend to only play games on my Xbox that benefit from a large display as I have a 55 inch 4k Dolby Vision HDR tv.

Anything that has a cluttered user interface, is FPS limited at 4k or works best on keyboard and mouse I play on PC.

Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (July 19)

Acurisur

@Titntin I choose to doubt you because I used to work as a computer technician fixing PCs for a living. A 3090 should not be getting stutters and if it is then it's user error causing it, not the hardware. I also never mentioned where I prefer to play because I don't really have a preference. I split my time between the Xbox Series X and my gaming PC as I have Game Pass Ultimate.

Re: Xbox Exec Wants To 'Celebrate' Other Console Platforms More

Acurisur

@dsar9012 Doesn't have any exclusives? Look dude, I play on everything except Switch but I'm not as pigheaded as you clearly are. Starfield is exclusive. Forza is exclusive. Hellblade II is exclusive. Halo is exclusive. Gears is exclusive. The Outer Worlds II is exclusive. Fable is exclusive. Microsoft Flight Simulator is exclusive. Sea of Thieves is exclusive. As Dusk Falls is exclusive. Scorn is exclusive. State of Decay is exclusive. Everwild is exclusive. Redfall is exclusive. Warhammer 40k Dark Tide is exclusive. Stalker 2 is exclusive.

Re: Two Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (July 19)

Acurisur

@Titntin Yeah sure you have a 10900k and a 3090. You shouldn't be getting stutters at all on that rig unless you're playing off a hard drive. I also game on both PC and Xbox (Series X in my case). Both have their uses but I disagree on only playing on PC if the game needs keyboard and mouse. I would say it 's a lot more complicated than just the control device.

Re: Here's Your First Look At The Map In Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels

Acurisur

@GeekSleeves It's not going to be that different to the Hot Wheels DLC in FH3 either - it can't by design. It's still a Forza Horizon game and the engine isn't built to accommodate the craziness of Hot Wheels. Anyone who's played Hot Wheels Unleased will know what I'm talking about. It's not a full on Hot Wheels experience.

Re: Game-Changing Elder Scrolls Online Update Sparks Huge Community Backlash

Acurisur

@dsar9012 Your emotional response says a lot about your lack of maturity. Time to grow up kid. Labelling a developer as trash just because they do something you don't agree with is the most kneejerk reaction you can make and says a lot about you.

As for "real gamers want good games", all gamers want good games. Who doesn't want good games exactly? Did you actually think about that sentence before you typing it out or did you go into autopilot?

You know nothing about me, so don't end with "not that you would know about that". I never said I agree with what the devs have done, read what I actually posted.

Your comments add absolutely nothing to this conversation. I've played ESO for a long time if you must know, not that that has anything to do with you.

Re: Digital Foundry Host Says Xbox Series X Wins Most Console Comparisons

Acurisur

@HeroYoshiko Black Apple Cube? Since when did Apple make consoles? Your joke falls flat. I also own a Apple 4k tv box and the Series X looks nothing like it apart from the colour. Elden Ring eh? Well that's one game so not sure where you're getting "the games that count" when you can only name one game.

"It's an Xbox One with more power". Mate you're literally trolling at this point. How is the PS5 any different in that aspect? It's a PS4 with more power.

Switch is not a direct competitor to Xbox or Playstation. And PS5 VR (or to give it It's correct name, PSVR2) will change nothing, the original PSVR was never widely adapted and now you think a VR headset that costs almost as much as a PS5 is going to change that? The Meta Quest 2 might have something to say about that.

Re: The Best Games On Xbox Game Pass (June 2022)

Acurisur

@Chaudy The Witcher 2 on 360 was awful. Loads of framerate issues and fog everywhere. I had a PC by the time it released so I played it there but for consoles we need the superior Xbox One X Enhanced version of The Witcher 2 on Game Pass, not the 360 version.

Re: Xbox Reveals 'Project Moorcroft', A New Demos Service For Game Pass Members

Acurisur

Everyone is missing the point. As someone else said, game demos have been dying for at least a decade, I looked on the Xbox store recently and there's hardly any demos at all for games made in the last year or two, and the total number of demos is pathetic.

This move from Microsoft and Sony is to incentivise game developers to make demos again. Game demos cost money to make, and with the cost of game development increasing all the time a lot of developers simply don't bother anymore.

This would be demos of games that will probably end up not being on Game Pass, that would be my guess.

Re: Xbox One Is Probably Here To Stay, Whether We Like It Or Not

Acurisur

@themightyant SSDs are much smaller than HDDs? This isn't 2011 my dude, SSDs are dirt cheap in 2022. My current PC doesn't have any HDDs at all, I have two m.2 NvMe drives and a pretty fast SATA SSD. And the biggest out of all of those is my secondary m.2 drive.

Old hardware is holding back development of Series X/S games imo, I got my Series X back in January and so far the lack of Series exclusives and deluge of cross gen games is less than ideal. Hopefully we get some good news at the Xbox Showcase next month.

Re: Xbox One Is Probably Here To Stay, Whether We Like It Or Not

Acurisur

@Richnj I don't know anyone who games on a PC that's still using a HDD as their primary storage device. SSDs are dirt cheap these days and even the newer m.2 drives are reasonably priced. The only reason to own a HDD at this point in time is if you have a lot of high resolution photos, videos, music etc.

Also listing Cyberpunk as an example wasn't the smartest thing to do, that game runs HORRIBLY on a HDD, it's one of the reasons the last gen versions were so poor. Modern games can't stream in data fast enough from a mechanical hard drive.
