Re: Poll: Which Xbox Console Had The Best Controller?

skaarj217

Series X/S controller is THE best ever for me. Xbox One controller is not that much different, but the tactile sensations are more pleasant with the Series X/S, maybe the plastic is better.
Xbox360 controller was very good for its time, definitely better than the PS3 DualShock, although I know people who said that the PS3 DualShock was better (I just don't understand those people...).
However, if we don't compare controllers from the same generation, then the PS4 DualShock is better than X360 controller. Moreover, it's better than the PS5 DualSense.
So, my rating is
1. Series X/S controller
2. Xbox One controller
3. PS4 DualShock
4. PS5 DualSense
5. Xbox 360 controller
6. Others.
But it's all a very subjective thing. Many PC players don't use a controller at all and they're saying that nothing compares to keyboard+mouse.

@Banjo- What error was thrown when you was trying to buy it?
I suggest that in order to buy from another region (say, you are in UK and want to buy from US region), you should:
1) switch to the US in console region settings
2) reboot console
3) add a valid payment option (I'm using a VISA or MasterCard credit card). This should be another card of yours, not the main card you're using when 'in UK'. While doing this, the console will ask you for a US address - just enter any valid address and (most importantly) a valid US postal code that matches this address. The easiest way to find it is to open any city, any street on Google Maps and select, say, a restaurant there - you'll see it's postal requisites: the address, state and postal code. Enter this info into what the console's asking you. It will be validated then and after a short while display a success message.
4) open the Store and browse any games in the US region
5) the last thing to remember is that you MUST re-select that credit card / payment option each time before you press the 'Buy' button on the Cart Summary screen. If you don't re-select the card, an error might display, and even more - there's a slight possibility that your newly added credit card would be banned for some period of time (2-3 weeks usually). This is happening just because there's a check of your credit card to match the selected region is performed.
6) switch back to your home region
7) try to install and launch the game. A few cases might happen here - you might not be able to either install or launch (or both) the game - in that case, switch back to the US for that game... there aren't many, but still some games exist with more strict checks of the region. There is an edge case also when you could not see the game in your collection on the console, but you could see it in the mobile Xbox App - then install it from there. Vice versa also is possible.

NB to the people who think it's illegal - it's not. Microsoft doesn't prohibit buying a game in another region. There are some checks performed under the hood when the transaction is happening, but if you manage to buy it - it's OK, it's yours rightfully. Anyway, you buy it from Microsoft.

@Banjo- consider buying SH: Homecoming also... it gets VERY rarely discounted, see: https://psprices.com/region-us/game/4143850/silent-hill-homecoming

It's not available in Europe, but just switch temporarily to US to buy it, then back to your region - the game's region is NOT checked when launching, so you won't have to switch to US to play it.

It's not the best SH, but still.

I am waiting for SH: Downpour to become available digitally again... it's a pity that it was delisted, but it appeared shortly in 2020, so who knows... I remember playing it on X360... I liked it really.

@Gunonaboat True for me too, but I was trying to buy another X360 game - Yar's Revenge. After selecting my card a blank window with a spinner appeared... and nothing next. Now I remembered my unsuccessful trying to do the same some time ago. I suggest that they removed the option to buy the games from the website. Need to try this on the console...

To authors of this article - just to be clear: it's not 'Russia and Ukraine situation', it's a full-scale, cruel war of russia against Ukraine. They invaded my country and are killing, raping and torturing our people, including elderly and children. They destroyed a whole big city Mariupol by shelling it with 500kg air bombs. They abducted and deported to far sides of russia tens of thousands of our people. It's a genocide. Calling it a 'situation' is totally wrong. You can at least support Ukraine by calling this cruel war a war.

Looks great, but it's still a game without a clear goal and story.
Those mega-patches are awesome but it got me wondering if development of this game will EVER be finished?..
Still haven't bought and played it because I'm afraid I don't want to spend so many hours without feeling that I am progressing towards an END of the game.

Re: What's All This About The Xbox Series X Running Hot?

"It’s almost like a fireplace shaft. You can heat up your flat with it."
Good. I won't have to turn the oil radiator on. I like to sit in a room with a pleasant warm temperature, especially in winter.

Heck. Even my router and satellite receiver get very hot. It's good to know that the Xbox has a powerful fan to blow all the hot air out of the box. That means the console won't overheat.
